I think this is a beautiful animated short, it says so much in such a short amount of time. For me, the main character realized that life has many beautiful things in store for everyone, he just happened to open his eyes and mind at the right moment. The music and sound design work really well between each other and they support the story just right. The director managed to convey his message and to impact the viewer in the process.

@happybro1 the man was greatly depressed for whatever reason because he could not find happiness in his life.then just as he is about to pull the trigger he finds something that he loves to do. my interpretation is that the maker of the film is telling us to find something we love to do, become the best we can at that thing, and the result will be a life filled with happiness and sharing this with others. Why is it called "White lie"?

@uglyHawkling a white like is supposedly a harmless lie, a lie with a good intention to protect the other person. the man couldn't tell the girl that he digged that hole wanted to end himself could he? he wants to protect the girl's innocence so he told the girl that the hole is for her to plant the special flower.

@JacksonTheGod because the man lied to the girl about the purpose of the hole (the true purpose being his grave post suicide and the false one being a place to grow special flowers for the girl). a lie told to prevent that little girl from knowing about or entering the world where the man could kill himself and to protect her from that. hence a white lie. also probably a pun on the white flowers.

@JacksonTheGod a white lie is a lie you tell someone to comfort the other or not to embarrass someone. for example if someone asks you if you like their clothes and you say yes even if you don't like them very much - to be nice.
