Hey now, as an American, that wasn't fair to all of us. Most of us HATE this war. As we did other ones like Vietnam too. I support our troops and other countries to in this mess. The troops did what they are told to do. Most of the soldiers are proud to defend this free country, say that and mean it. But, they didn't ask to go to kill others. Support needs to be given to them. F'the higher ups who have the blood on their hands, but they can sleep at night. the men & women can't.

I think you greatly underestimate the ability of many Americans to appreciate nuance. Frankly, I'm more alienated by the "us vs. them" mentalities of the Toby Keiths, Lee Greenwoods and so on than the more intelligent protests of bands like this, Green Day or The Dixie Chicks. Like the man said, I'm an American and I love America like an adult, not a child. I applaud our strengths but refuse not to acknowledge and challenge our flaws.
