Right, I was 16 when this 1st came out -now am late 30's. And I haven't seen this since then. But would I be right in thinking that its actually about women soldiers trying to get out of the army (because they are gay and comitting offences) or is it about military personnel not towing the line and this would be seen as going against the military rules - i don't really know what to make of it. But probably I'll be laughed off here.....
Yes, well...one more reason why I can have no respect for the army or police. Any institution which favours bullying, bigotry and aggression (for whatever purposes they purport it might be used) should be exposed to the most vitriolic criticism and attacks.
@dochiaz Bigotry exists everywhere and in every institution. The responsibility for this odious policy regarding gays is'nt primarily with the military or the police who have to obey government policy, but with those who formulate that policy--the civilian government.
@sleedolfine15 Yes, well, I don`t really find your argument about `bigotry is everywhere, hence the military is not responsible for it` unsatisfactory. Of course, it is individuals who are bigots or not first and foremost, not the structures they form. But, these structures may provide more or less fertile breeding ground for bigotry through its sheer nature and through the sort of people it puts into positions of power.
@dochiaz I think that what I'm susgesting is that soldiers in a democracy are susposed to follow the orders given by the civilian authorities & it is the civilian authorities, whose decision regarding gays have caused the problem. In the US,for instance, once President Truman ordered the racial desegregation of the military, the military adapted & made it work. I have no doubt that they would be equally successful regarding gays if obliged to do so by the civilian leadership.
What the F#$K is this?!!! Gawd, this is pissing me off so efin much. Those disgusting male bastards!! And yes, I'm only referring to the males in this movie, but GAWD! i'M ABOUT TO BREAK MY FREAKIN KEYBOARD CAUSE I'M CURRENTLY LISTENING AND TYPING AT THE SAME TIME...ARRGHHHHH! KILL THEM! KILL THEM!
