megabootyfan- Lets say all, IED's are buried. Then try a concussion type of device or sound waves or shock waves. I am not familiar with the types of booby traps and how they are detonated. I'll just leave it to the experts.
If an IED or some other type of boobie trap or mine is operated by phone, why haven't we come up with ,{or maybe we have"?} a devise that would make all phones, or radio waves or whatever is being used to detonate an IED, do it before it kills. Like, making every phone in area ring !!??
@alvill48 thats actually really smart but we doesnt the army makes an EMP bomb taht would F*ck any tipe of electronic stuff in the vecinity so it can be well not desarmed because it would blow up in the first place but u know mi point
Check out my homepage for further experiments using laser. There are several easy to do examples to split the beam, modulate on of the two and then recombine them to produce low frequency beats. These beats should be able to induce currents into the body to transmit sound or steer muscles if used with high power lasers. You dont even need a laser, this can be done with ordinary light and heat radiation as well. The double slit experiment mostly is done with an ordinary light source.
Guys, this is a TEST! It's not going to used to just blow up bombs laying arround in the open... :-/ It's a demonstration only. The technology can be used to shoot down any aircraft / missle / duck / etc. in a split-second.
OK, the laser works but how much? Can it fit in a Humvee? This is surely a solid state laser firing several kilowatts of power at a cost of $800k + each. Big, heavy, and expensive. Can we spend money on a project that the troops can actually use?
@HaveTheAnswer You're right in asking about the cost of this weapon to be mounted in the Humvee if this was supposed to be used for a large amount of vehicles. However I'd say the safety and effectiveness it brings to an EOD unit would be well worth it.

You can get the same effect using a giant magnifying lens mounted on a robot arm like Wile E Coyote uses.

I say we give all of our troups white armor, some portable lasers, and a giant space ship base that can destroy planets

What about buried IED's? You know... like they usually are.

What if the IEDs are covered in mirrors?
prophetmargin 9 months ago
they should issue that to the troops, make it easier to dispose of IED's from 500 yards instead of 5

wanna use that against ants

This is probably 15 kW... obviously, we need 10 times this or more... still years to go.

I don't get it.Sure,it works for IEDs sitting conveniently on a test stand, but the Taliban generally buries theirs.

Looks pretty cool, but I have to ask:
How long does the battery last, and how much does it cost?
TehSplinterCell 2 years ago
@TehSplinterCell it's mounted on a humvee. So it is powered by the car's engine.
the battery is thus however big the fuel tank is.
