McCain has clearly thrown away the election with this choice. Conservatives are not going to gather around this choice, and its clear from this and the previous ads showing Hillary that McCain is hoping this choice will get them to vote for him in November, but as to not lose the conservatives, he chose the only pro-life one, and its very unlikely that Clinton supporters will vote for a pro-life female.
