In any video game, the frames of motion have "gaps", so that characters can move between say, walking in one direction and jumping into another- the more fluid the animation the less you notice.

However, quick repeated motions can often move by so quickly that instead of moving from one motion to another, the first motion starts over.

In other words by tapping the joystick in a direction, you can catch 'Netta mid step, having her hover along the ground.
