@Kekkon3n Yes, not surprising considering how absurdly wide the Hummer is.....I remember when the hummer first came out before the civilian version came out in 1992, In the late 80's, AM General shipped the Army some of the initial production and WOW it was a game changer compared to the classical JEEP, they would do demonstrations with it practically climbing vertical cliffs. It's a great machine, unfortunately it just wasn't designed against surviving IED's.

@Kekkon3n For the current mission, a vehicle needs to be designed specifically to counteract the enemy's tactics. AM General along w General DYnamics has proposed a brand new version of their Hummer that is competing with Lockheed for the contract. Ford was also in the running, but they just pulled out of the competition last month. BAE system's and Oshkosh are also still in the competition known as the JLTV competition. I love Lockheed but they seem to get every major contract.
