  • SDARomance7 the official YOUTUBE channel of "Classical Adventism" recognizes this cover version of Bryan Duncan's tune as Biblically correct, musically appropriate and fully in harmony with all the doctrines of the SDA Church in 2011. Moreover, Adriane Mace's physical presentation exceeds the appearance standard held by "Classical Adventists" worldwide. We are thankful to the Heritage Singers for posting this most wonderful video.

  • Bryan Duncan wrote this as a love song to God. I think this group did a wonderful job with it, in every way. Thank you for sharing this beautiful rendition that makes me relax and smile and remember how much I love God.

  • This video should have won an MTV music video award. Val looks real pretty in that video too, I bet she does not remember meeting me when we were at the Hinsdale Seventh-Day Adventist Church 10 years ago.

  • I dont see anything wrong with this video, the makeups are natural, i've seen beauties of God's love through nature, and the scene in this video were just telling me more about God's love. there is nothing wrong with the children, great to include your children Val, that shows you'r caring mother.

keep on heritage,i've always bless with ur songs.

  • i was surprised to know that this is a religious song... it seems to be a love song.. :( i agree that the video doesn't fit the message..

  • take good things in life and forget the rest. i love this song!!! life is to short.

  • i am proud to be a sda member

  • It is my first time to see the group in the net and I am impressed with the group..Continue serving God.

  • nice vid

  • great...

  • 5* =)

  • I believe when the Bible speaks of how we are to be different from the world. It says, John 13:35 "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." Where is the LOVE. Remember, James 3:2 "For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body."

  • So what are you saying. I find judging to more offensive that wearing makeup. I can't see you evil heart but God can. Quoting scriptures doesn't make you one of Christ disciples. God truly looks at the heart. You cannot judge someone because they wear makeup. Val continue to serve the Lord. The Lord has really blessed you with a wonderful voice. Your makeup is between you and the Lord. Move forward as the Lord speak to your heart.

  • The point is that people look for external signs on which to judge eachother for no good reason. God looks on our hearts, and He is looking for the LOVE of Christ in our hearts. Unfortunately, main people are willing to settle for cosmetic Christianity, while living with a mental state that is not Christ-like.

  • ok not that any of these conversations even matter but what does it have to do with this music video at anyhow. yo nice video... bottom line.

  • SDA do believe that the outward is very important. Thats why makeup and jewelry and the such, is a big deal. SDA doctrine comes before the Bible, in most cases the Bible is only used to back up is written in the church manual, 28 fundamentals. Because if the Bible was the only authority they used, then they would do as God does 1 Samuel 16:7, ..For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'"

  • "SDA doctrine comes before the Bible, in most cases the Bible is only used to back up is written in the church manual, 28 fundamentals."

This is CRAP and YOU know it!

    Give me a break!

    Get behind me satan.

  • "in most cases the Bible is only used to back up is written in the church manual, 28 fundamentals." Therefore the Bible is not the main source with Adventisit, but it's doctrine is. Adventist use the Bible to pick and choose what they want you to believe. (not including the Sabbatha Day). Why do you need 28 fundamentals and a church manual, if you have the Bible. Therefore, you follow a creed:1. any system, doctrine, or formula of religious belief, as of a denomination.

  • I have to disagree with you there athorns, The bible is definately the main source, the doctrine or church manual is actually based on the bible. the church manual is more for how the church runs...but keeping in mind that the bible and faith is the key to salvation. i hope this makes sense to you

  • Actually, you are very wrong. Questn? what's the purpose of Baptsm in the Bible? And what's the purpose of Baptsm in the Church manual. You have be Baptsmed in an Adventst Church to be a member, "church manual". Thats not the purpose of Baptsm but it is in the Adventst chrch.

  • when you are bapised, its a public declaration showing that youve excepted christ...thus you are joining a fellowship of belivers hence you become a member...

  • "Belivers"??? Believers of Christ or the SDA messg.? It can't be both. Because they are not one in the same. See a person can't come to a SDA church and asked to be baptsmed, becuse he's a new believer in Christ and want to be obedient to christ. Whis is the purpose of baptsm. they don't want to join a organization, but join "a fellowship of belivers" in Christ. No, the SDA church don't believe in that, take our studies, then be baptsmed.

  • my friend...a person can come to the SDA church and ask for baptism, and yes there are studies involved.and beliving in christ is the sda msg.(where is the diffrence?)..oh and have you had an expiernce with the SDA church?...thx

  • You are wrong, you can't come and be baptsd just because you believe in Christ and willing to be obedient to His word. In order to be baptsd in a SDA church, you have to accept the SDA beliefs. Which is outside the scope of what the Bible. And yes, I've experinced the SDA church for my whole life.

  • but arent these beliefs based on the word? and isnt believing in Christ and willing to be obedient to his word part of the SDA beliefs?...correct me if iam wrong but i take your expierence to be a bad one.?

  • If your belief is in the whole word of God, then why do you need 27(no 28) Fundal. Bel. and church manual, that changes when man (sda) decides it needs to change. See, the God's word don't change. How many times have the church manual & 27 (no 28) fundal belf. have changed. Why not have the whole Bible has your belief instead of picking and choosing. Study your history of what Mrs. White said about having a ch manul & fundl belf. before your next response. My experince in Christ is great.

  • hahaha, so funny, too blind to see that huh. Qestn? If you've baptsmed, not in an Advent churh. but want to be a member of Adventst church what must you do? Get Baptsed right? But what is the purpse of Baptsm Matt28:19-20, defintly not for membership requirment. But thats not what the Advent church manual says, now is it.

  • athornes - it seems you are a very bitter misinformed individual. I was RAISED in that church -and no matter what area -each church "offered" a newcomer, who was interested in becoming a member, the "choice" to either get (re-baptized) - or just be accepted in as a member due to their previous baptism sometime in their life - somewhere else. I've seen ALL situations, and it's always been their CHOICE! I don't know WHAT lie you've been told - but your anger and bitterness speaks volumes.

  • Just the truth, just the truth. I was raised sda church, and has yet to see anyone get baptsm on their faith in christ alone. Need to check that church manaul. Its so funny, anytime someone presents facts or disagreement with the SDA church, they are always angry and bitter.

  • Athornes: Seems you've NEVER been on the WEST Coast. (I'll assume). EVERY CHURCH I attended here, I NEVER saw anyone have to recite those points of doctrine like the OLD days. Maybe some still do on the east, but not here. They just stand as the pastor declares they're joining the church if they've already been baptized, then prays over them, OR they can choose to get RE-Baptized, only if they want. They can ALSO choose to take bible studies IF they want. I was in charge of BAPTISMS, so I know.

  • hahahaha, you are so right, West do things very different then everyone else, can't argue with you on that. LOL

  • Thank you. I then urge you to not condemn a whole GROUP for a couple things someone else did you don't agree with...

heck! That's what they are telling us with OBAMA! RIGHT?

    heh!

    Peace.

  • oh trust me, it just a west coast thing, some of the churches are very different out there.

  • "but your anger and bitterness speaks volumes. " But yet, who's the one using big letters.

  • Dear all, we are all christians...let's not make these things hinder us to feel the presence of the holy spirit through songs. Let's have Christ-like attitude..always have a loving heart, to criticize with love...God bless us all...Val, take this as a positive comment.. we love you becuase you are a sister in Christ and you have a wonderful voice...keep singing for the Lord...

  • I think it'is rude and unfair when you post negative comments about people you don't know. You say that you've seen Val in person at one of our concerts. How could you miss the message? Didn't you feel God's presence at the concert?Christian don't do that.We would never do anything to offend anybody.

  • Adriane, I have to admit, the makeup seen in this video is rather distracting to the message of the song. Val has a nice voice, and I think a more natural look might have been more appropriate. I am wondering if the donations we give to the Heritage Singers go to fund family vacations in Hawaii as seen with Val and her children. I've always loved the Heritage Singers, but am concerned about the direction I'm seeing in their more recent youtube videos. Don't unite with world...

  • What do you mean? The video seen here is not in Hawaii and it's not a family vacation. The group was brought to Tahiti to do concerts. We still have a very active ministry and our ultimate goal is to bring people to Christ. I'm sorry if we have been giving you the wrong impression.

    Adriane Mace

    Heritage Singers

  • ok.. Tahiti instead of Hawaii.

There is still something just not right here. I think what it is, is that the video just does not go with the words of the song. Watching the video and listening to the words over and over "When I turn to you"... makes the whole thing sound like a love song. It isn't until I hear the words "dear Lord", that I realize this is supposed to be a religious song. It just comes across as a self-glorifying video, which is too bad because Val is a good singer.

  • No disrespect, but do you honestly need the words "dear lord" to help you realize that it's a religious song? Val, I think is her name, has been with the group for decades and I'm pretty sure she's proven that she's not trying to be worldly in any way. Maybe that's just me.

  • Come on smurf take it easy. If you listen to the tone of the song you'd realize what its about. What better song than a love song to and for Jesus...lol

  • @adrianemace Have no worries Adriane, I have been a fan of the Heritage Singers since I was a baby. Your ministry is the best music ministry ever to come out of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Not to mention this video deserves an MTV music video award, and the song deserves a Grammy. BTW what is your relation to Max Mace?

  • @sheltv100 Adriane Mace is Max Mace's daughter-in-law and she is from Brazil.

  • @broadaorb Oh I see. No surprise that Adriane Mace is from Brazil. There are 1 million Seventh-Day Adventists in Brazil, and there I could find the prettiest Adventist women. I mean plenty of them! That beats the hell out of Canada where I am from.

  • @sheltv100 The lady singing in this video is Val, the daughter of Max.

  • I am shocked by the judgemental spirit of people who call themselfs christian. I am one of the Heritage Singers and our job here on earth is a lot greater looking at appearences. If you guys only knew Val, you would see how much she loves the Lord. She has been in this ministry since when she was 9 years old.Adriane Mace.

  • You SDAs are all a stuck-in-the-mud hipocrites... why not listen to the message on the song instead of looking at the outward appearrances. ""Judge not, lest you be judged""

  • make is totally wrong , we have been call to be deffirent from the world cuzz we are not from this world, if u look at the kidz specially the girl she has no make up, maybe jst the thing they use not to be palid at all and she look good,

i think we have to be different if that is not shown is wrong, God bless

  • As a SDA, you can't be like the world, wearing makeup and lip stick. I think her singing is just a job for her rather than to give praise to the most high.

  • Hi, hotnumber24!

Sometimes, specially when you are recording you need makeup because otherwise you would look too pale, and that wouldn't look nice or give a good testimony, don't you think?

    Blessings to you!

    Dkcicco

  • You do have a point there Danicicco. I can understand her using make-up for the video, but I have seen her live and the make-up was heavy on her. It's not even the make-up of such, but the lipstick is unnecessary, as lip gloss can be used. I know I sound old fashion, but I just think it is important that we look different from the world as much as we can.

  • This is simply ridiculous, I'm sure that was the point of the text. So, you would have a reason to criticize a woman online that has spent her life traveling the world singing about God. I'm sure you will get two more points towards your salvation by not wearing makeup and pointing out her horrible actions on YouTube.

  • It doesn't matter that Val is wearing makeup,She sings beautifully and i thought that God looks at your heart not what your wearing. Well Happy Sabbath to all you viewers..

  • Hi all you SDA viewers, so happy to see others like myself. yeah, that makeup thing bothers me always. Standards don't change no matter how we feel about it. Remember, "I am the Lord, I change not!" Keep focussed in Jesus always.

  • This is Val Mace Mapa singing. I love her voice and the CD Lullaby of Heaven.

  • i realy like this one thank you ....

  • I think the song and themotive is great , but i dont understand why as a seventhday adventist she has to wear nmakeup

  • Happy Sabbath SDA

  • i like it. it's pretty. thanks for uploading.

  • I am an SDA too.Love it.

  • i am too

  • Love it R u an SDA? I am an SDA...

  • yeah, I'm an SDA too, nice to meet you!!

    Ronald from Peru =)

  • I am sda too!
