  • FEEL THE PAIN... awsome description.

  • thanks for the vid, exactly right, only forgot to tune down a half-step! Needed this for my band

  • not baddd..........

  • Thanks for all the crazy messages. I may try to re-do this. It's a cool riff. Sorry if you can't see very well, I have a cheap little camera.Take it one note at a time.

  • 2nd sting and a string are the same thing... wtf?

  • Damn... I'm gonna learn this like... 4 years from now. Tool is easyer :)

  • joker from dark night?

  • UHUHUHUHHHUHHUUUU

  • clicked on the vid cause i say a telecaster lol

  • Aw man, not on a Strummer Tele! That guitar is built for Rock 'N Roll...

  • please tab im mexican no speak inglish

  • the killers just killed my fingers ahh!!

  • could you find a site of the tabs please because all of them change and you sound exactly like how they play it

  • joe strummer guitar?

  • I love your vintage looking Tele!

  • try detuning the top e string only and go back up one fret on this instruction

  • its just a semi tone down right??

  • ive gotta learn this by tomorrow and so far every one appears to be playing in a different key to that of the song, should i down tune or move or playe the same thing a few frets across or what?

  • It's down a half step. I played this tune in bars for a couple of years and this seemed to work.

  • @djdan151 Tune down. It'll make any rhythm playing in other parts of the song much easier.

  • what are the srings u pluck /in order

  • @justinichi1009 5-4-3-4-1-2-3-4 5-4-3-4-1-2-3-4 6-4-3-4-1-2-3-4 6-4-3-4-1-2-3-4... then repeat (I'm trying to nail this riff, too).

  • @Texy88 on what string do you play the 5-4-3-4-1.........?

  • @marwood03 A-D-G-D-tE (top E)-B-G-D A-D-G-D-tE-B-G-D bE (bottom E)-D-G-D-tE-B-G-D bE-D-G-D-tE-B-G-D.

The number system I used is one I have noticed in use while learning, where the top E is considered the first string, going down the six strings in sequence, ending with the bottom E string being the sixth string.

    Hope that clarifies things.

  • those are the strings not the frets

  • I see what your doing and know i could play it, but the fatness of my acoustic interferes with me reaching my high notes

  • It is horrifying to play live, especially after 4 wiskys

  • @J0rawr lol i hav the same prob with my acoustic(fatness lol) so i just played on my electric

  • Seems easy, But is not!

Thanks for your help, I didn't realize you could use 4 fingers on this one, I was using 2 then switching to the another part, yep i'm stupid.

It really hurts by the way, afterall is not a hard song, just require some practice in the picking.

  • Great lesson but I'm a bit confused. I think you have to be tuned 1/2 step down to make that sound right. I can hear that open E (actually D flat) ringing out so your lesson makes a lot of sense 1/2 step down (if you're playing with the CD).

  • I used to teach in schools. Then I built my own. School. Of Rock. Yes, this school is getting old. But the bricks are solid. Learn the ways of the ancient ones and you too can light up the sky with lazer beams of energy shooting out of the end of your guitar. That's my way of saying "uhh, huh huh, ,um thanks".

  • You use a 80's right-hand tecnique...old school :)

  • really nice lesson!

    youre great...!

    give more lessons

now i know how to play it ;D

    thank you

  • THANK YOU legend every1 else wuz fuckin makin my hand cramp lol cheers

  • too quick

  • I love telecasters, especially strummers one. so fair play!!

  • thanks the tabs are all completely wrong u helped heaps

  • Wow you seem really good!

  • the reproduction model of joe strummers tele

  • What kind of guitar is that?

    It looks pretty sweet.

  • Ah. This is less comfortable than the way I was playing it, but it's a lot more effective! Thank you.

  • cheers mate .

  • 'pinkie' :L, i love it. awesome man :)

  • no wonder i couldn't do it before

i was always thinking, well this hurts, no musician in their right mind would want to play this painful song

but heck i love the song and i want to play it haha thanks a bunch for the lesson!

  • Dude this helped alot, thanks.

  • thank man :)

  • hey this is real good jst one thing.. wts the strumming pattern srry i couldnt see..

  • 5th, 4th, 3rd, 4th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th strings

  • well golly! I appreciate your kind words!

  • wow you´re amazing

  • i cant see ur strum pattern.... there is a glare

  • Mind writting down the instructions on the side?

  • I did find this version online some where a while back, that's how I learned it!

  • the no 0 string is open??...

  • what is a no 0 string?

  • love the elvis sticker at the beginning!

and this is nice i cant wait to try it.

  • i cant follow u at all ur goin way toooooo fast

  • How long have you been playing guitar?

  • 4 or 5 years

  • Dude, I just listened to the recording. It's a half-step lower than what you're playing!

  • I believe that

We play it in my band and we're a half step down.

  • joe strummer tele!!!!!

  • Good eye! I love this dirty little pig...it seems to kill all my other guitars with it's twinkling brutish chime

  • Ah that guitar! I want one

  • It is a good one! Are they available? The new Fender Road worn units are cool...I will probably snag one of those 50s strat re creations. I've had old original Fenders but these seem plenty good for 1/1000th of the cost.

  • thank u so much

  • You are so welcome.

Thanks for watching, hope you picked up a little bit of this. I actually learned it off a tab I found on the net....

I was clueless until i had to sneak a peek.

  • was 14...in the mid 70's...

No, you can rock...go for it...don't be afraid....get crazy on that thing!

  • when u strat to sound guitat?is late start to 18 year ?=)

  • holly cow, i tried it and its really hard. I'm going to keep practicing, thank you.

  • play 1 fret don

  • in the second position i prefer using both middle and index to fret the 16th, as opposed to barring... just another way of doing it...

  • Sweeeeeeeeeeeeet, great lesson! THANKS!!

  • very nice liked the vid next can u go a little slower? cus i had to pause the vid alot but i did get it and now i show off to every1! haha thanks for the vid man

  • index finger is on 6th string 15th fret

middle finger 1s on 4th string 16th fret

ring finger is on 2nd string 17th fret

pinky is on 3rd string 19th fret

  • where do put ur finger when you change in the 3rd part? srry i didnt really catch that.

  • A tele bridge is a solid thing to rest your hand on...I like the kind with only three saddles...the rustier the better

  • thats the good thing about that kinda style of bridge.

  • thank you for doing this!

the tabs i looked at had alt tuning and this video is just fine (because i want it all) ha

  • That was very good. Thank you!

  • soon to be killer?

  • I think it will be!

  • whats the tuning?

  • standard!

  • o0o0o ok thanx i just needed to know that stgings i had to pick it was to fast but i got it now thanx

  • Go for it...can you play it half way smooth?

  • i wish it wasnt so weird...wonder how he thought of this riff...and i ALSO WISH I HAD THAT JOE STRUMMER TELE!!!!!!!!

  • It is weird...very...thus I like it

  • Can you tell what the chord shapes are? Left hand stuff? That's the hard part.

Here is the picking pattern: Each number represents a string and they are in order that are played in the song. 6=low E, 5=A,

    4 = D, 3= G, 2= B and 1= Skinny high E.

    54321234

    Make sense?

  • i cant tell what is the picking pattern???someone tell me

  • Its a Fender Jaguar I think.

    Good video

  • Thanks a lot! This is the tele, but I use a Jaguar on a few others

  • what guitar is that??

your video is awsome, you are a goos teacher

  • Hi, that's a tele, thanks, hope you enjoyed the demo!

  • nice thanx man, btw awesome guitar =D

  • That's the tele! Thanks...I get good use out this machine

  • thankyou! i have seen so many tutorials that dont tell you how to pick

    this is fantastic

    thanks!

  • It's all in the right hand. Check out some of my videos about right hand technique.

  • nice tele

  • I had it modified. It had a vintage radius (curvy fretboard instead of flat). I had it flattened up on the 12th fret up to the 21st.

  • thank u so much :D

    just great

  • Well thanks for the kind word! It's pretty tough huh?

  • oh yeahh

but i will be able to do it.

    one day. lol

  • wow big thanks!!*smile* this is one of my favourite songs and due to this vid I could learn it<3 also like your guitar^.^

  • It is a cool song! This guitar was bought looking all beaten up...it's called the relic process to make it resemble a 1966 tele played by Joe Strummer of the Clash.

  • thanks a lot this really helped me other vids/ tabs were somewhat confusing so this really helped. Fingers hurt a bit when i first tryed it but i think its just my small hand ^_^ Gracias

  • It is very difficult. I have to be seated to play it well. Maybe I should post one on the pre-chorus...now that hurts!

  • thnx! awesome

  • Whoa, much appreciated!
