  • He'll always be Dean to me :D

  • Texan accent is extinct, trust me I'm from Texas and it's really rare, we talk just like people from California or idk but we talk standard american english, and it's usually the really old people or the farmers that have that accent.

  • @Killkillification Trust me, I'm from Texas, and it's not extinct at all. I grew up near Houston, but have family and friends from small towns all over, and the Texas accents are many and varied.

  • I love hearing Texan accents! It's really interesting for me to listen to different accents in English because I'm learning it, and the Texan ones are just amazing!

  • I always thought of Texas accents as annoying but thanks to Jared and Jensen I love them

  • Canadian accent, eh? =]

  • ya'll i love texas but i dont have one of those heavy accent cuz i be livin in the city XD

  • quelqun peut me traduire en francais svp ?

  • @lakebodom025

  • i say ya'll from where I'm from, though Im in a city lol. I hope thats normal. Btw, I like Jared waay more than I like his char. Sam. :)

  • Yeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaahooooooooooooooyadayada ayyyy!!

  • This is how we talk, thank you.

  • i've lived in Texas my entire life (21 years lol) and i can promise you that i haven't met anyone who really talks like that in everyday situations. We may make fun of the stereotypical Texas accent like that. Plus our Texas accent, if we even have one, is very subtle. It's like it sneaks up on you in certain words. But maybe that's just in the Houston/city area.

  • I'm from a rural area in Virginia and we say "ya'll" all of the time. I couldn't imagine not saying it.

  • @livelaughlove0818 I imagine y'all probably say "y'all", not "ya'll". It's a proper contraction.

That being said, you'd be surprised how easily you drop certain words and phrases when you move someplace new. I never thought I'd stop using the phrase "fixing to" (as in, "I'm fixing to go get a drink, do you want one?"), but I stopped saying within a few months of moving to the Northwest. I also stopped referring to all soda as "Coke".

  • sounds like hes pretending he had a texas accent in the first place, or is from jasper

  • I just fuckin LOVE the fact that the whole point that I searched "texas accent" was so that I could compare it to Jensen and Jared's accents and this is like, the FOURTH video that pops up! LOL.

  • I've lived in Texas all my life, but unless I'm tired or say ya'll every now and then you probably couldn't tell. It makes me sad. I love southern accents. :(

  • @RabidKyuubi Don't worry, I'm sure you still sound plenty Texan! Thats the thing about Texas accents, its just a sort of lazy way of pronouncing your words. Not in a bad way! Just really drawled and slow sounding. Well, that and the word "ya'll" thrown it at every chance, xD Lol. I have a cousin from Texas and, hand to God, she actually said while making fun of MY Wisconsin accent' "Ma God April, you are funnier soundin' then a cat tryin to bark!" Best phone call EVAR! LOL. God I love Texas. :P

  • @littleaprilroses That's funny. I've never heard such an expression in my life, and I've lived in Houston for some years now.

...'Course, it IS Houston and I AM English, so eh.

  • @TonitheTater Yea, I think my cousin might have just said that too fuck with my mind. She's one of those people that think enforcing stereotypes is hysterical. Go figure, lol.

  • @TonitheTater I'm from Houston too, but people think we speak the Texan accent here in the city, when we really don't D: At least not here in the Southeast side of Houston.

  • @AKAjocey As I thought. I mean, a few people do (usually the older ones), but most people in Houston very nearly speak that general, Midwestern way, barring a few Southern terms.

...Then literally five km away I'll be thinking things like, "WTF, WUT R U SAYING LOL *__*". But it's fair, because they can't understand me many times either.

  • I love Texan accents, more that they say y'all. I'm Aussie and no-one here ever says y'all (unless we are trying to be american and failing) so when I stopped over in Texas and heard someone say y'all I was very happy

  • Howdy,

Seems like us guys at TAMU are only ones that really say the stereotypical Texan greeting.

    Thanks and Gig 'Em

  • I grew up in Central Texas and most people do not have accents particularly the younger crowd. I DO have a Texas accent but find that it is something that inspires curiosity from folks in other parts of the country when I talk to them...I think it's pretty cool to have that little accent that lets everyone know where I am from. I was born a Texan and will die a Texan...I have dubs on 6 feet of genuine Texas dirt!

  • He is my Friends Cousin! (:

  • I'm from Texas and I don't have the stereotypical "Texas drawl". That accent is more of a West Texas thing, central and east Texas not so much (I'm from Central Texas). Literally everywhere I go, people are disappointed when I tell them I'm from Texas and I speak with a generic American accent. We definitely say "y'all", though.

  • he forgot to say. WhatChal Fennda do? Imbout to go to WALMARTS get sum Beeers. yall I'm from tEXASS too...

  • oh, my god. Jared is so cute. How could anyone not lovehim?

  • why some Texans are ashamed of who they are? it's ok you don't have to have the best accent ever to be proud of who you are, the southern accent is unique and should be Maintained

  • I think southern accents are brillant: you save more energy just in pronouncing lazily, doing diphthongs while breathing out and skipping a few words or syllables :D

I'm french canadian and this kind of french may look (beside the very different idioms) like an energy wise version of the french you hear in France; I therefor think lazy accents kick ass XD

  • Totally true! Some people in Texas just don't have the accent as thick, but when you get tired or drunk it rolls out. I lived in Texas until I was 22, and now that I'm in Boston whenever the Texas drawl slips out my friends look at me like I just started speaking Swahili!

  • @TheKatintheHat rotfl! Swahili though? thats funny!

  • damn hes finneeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

  • I left it in the green room..

  • He is adorable!! I am in love -3

  • he kinda said taird and its so freaking adorable!

  • He is so friggin cuteee!

  • my name is jared to

  • Im british and i'd love to have a Texas accent :D

  • @WHATJaz Hey,i'm from Texas,and I think you have a lovely accent!!!!!:X

  • @WHATJaz I'm a Texan and I'd love to have a British accent. (:

  • He is too dang cute!!!

  • Ellen is from Louisana and doesn't have an accent.

  • Mr. Padalecki can come visit me anytime he wants.... rawr tiger!

  • <3<3<3

  • *screams* OMFG HE SOUNDS SO CUTE WITH IT XDDDDD ima texan too, we're from close parts too <3 and i love my accent too *even though everyone in fl hates it*

  • im a made, born and raised texan. and im damn proud of my state. sometimes i have slip ups where i sound very texan. i cant help it. texans be proud, we are indeed the greatest state. whoop whoop

  • Has Jensen ever been on Ellen?

  • he still had a texas accent when he said right

i say it like that and i total have a texas accent

im not a hick but mom says i sound like a hick

i love it wish we could hear jared and his accent more

  • Does everyone here in texas have an accent? I live in San Antonio and everyone sounds the same! Do we have accents?

  • @Steph293156 lol I'm from Texas and I don't have a hick accent...I sound like Jensen and Jared...But if you're immersed in a culture with a particular accent for long enough, you'll gradually start adusting to it...It happens to my bro when he gets around the redneck acquaintences.

  • @Steph293156 i don't know. our voices sound regular and normal

  • @josh1422 Thats what i thought! But then one of my brothers teachers that sound like everyone here in SA went to New york and said they loved her Texan accent! It seriously bugs me not to know! And some of my friends went to Kerrville for a school thing and everyone said our school had accents when my school thought they had accents!

  • @Steph293156

yes, im from north texas and i remember once i went to new jersey for a choir convention and there northern accent up there was so strong i could hear my own accent

  • @suki3275 Well thanks maybe that could happen to me when i travel but until then ill keep wondering!

  • @Steph293156 lmao, if you're from San Antonio, you DON'T have an accent. San Antonio's even bigger than Austin, and WE don't have accents! xD

  • @julietsbody And why do I somehow doubt that because I DO have family from San Antonio and they speak with Texan accents...

  • @HawksEye1983 but are they from downtown san antonio? besides, more people visit austin than they do san antonio, so i suppose it would make sense that it'd be easier for them to pick up accents. anyway; the more populated an area, the less of an accent you'll have.

  • 2 b honest his accent sounds the same 2 me. he didnt put much of a drawl on in supernatural! i was under the impression jared n jensen were frm southern states neway!

  • hahaha love him and jensen!

  • lol i like how its pretty much the same around texas but alot of people i know (including myself) try to hide our accents but fail miserably when we're 1. drunk 2.mad 3.too tired to try. jaja i do a good job of it but when i talk to pple who dont live in texas, its rrreeeaaalllyy obvious to them

  • no offence, for me texas accent is kindda hard to understand sometime

  • I'm Texan and I try really hard NOT to have that hardcore accent. It definitely shows when I'm Pissed, tired or [especially] when I'm sick...

  • what?? he has no accent!

  • When I'm mad or really really tired, the southern accent comes through. Other than that, nope.

  • i know, when im talking without thinking or really mad i start mah drawl, its funny when i realize it, lol

  • hhahaaa exactly....when i raise my voice or get nervous i pronounce the words like that...i love the way it sounds....hahaha and NO we dont ride horses to school...and we say ya'll cuz its better than you guys and its just sounds awesome...

  • I went to Kansas and my 9 year old cusin yelled at me, saying "Why do you say Ya'll all the time, your not Hannah Montana" and I said "No, I say "Ya'll" because Im from the real south!"...I almost slapped a 9 year old and im 16!

  • I wish I was from Texas, I love the accent

  • i like my texas accent, lol

  • @Albertross21 Most people do wish they were from texas!

  • @TheDroberts25 That's true. But most British people (me XD) wish they were American....that I know of!

  • bahahaha he looked awkward.

  • i know, loser, lol

  • omfg i jjust died :D

  • I am from Texas and I am proud of my accent.

  • @SicSemperTyrannis87 Damn straight! :-D

  • @SicSemperTyrannis87 Damn Straight!

  • @SicSemperTyrannis87 Im from France, I like my accent

  • @SicSemperTyrannis87 good to know! im proud of you!

  • hahaha im from texas and its exactly the same way.

  • You can hear it when he says

    "right" 0:02 and "tired" 0:09

    <3

  • Hahaha so true when I'm tired, really drunk, or scared my Texas accent comes out full force.
