I really liked how the writers kept making Cameron behave more like a human in season two, demonstrated by her talking to this bird and also the episode Alison from Palmdale. So pissed off this show was axed!
If I remember correctly, in this episode she had a malfunctioning hand. Earlier in the episode she had caught a bird in her hands and her hand had a spasm that killed it.
