  • you did not coat it with egg..................and tikkis come out round.well i tried some tikkis (not these ones) and with the egg coating they break down.why?

  • What about the sauce/chutney that the stalls make for aloo tikki?...

  • I've a party this weekend & was thinking abt serving aloo tikkis as one of the appetizers...so as always came to your video for the recipe...have a question though...can i make this a day ahead and put it in the refrigerator and maybe heat it up in a toaster/convection oven just before the party? That way i'll be saving a lot of time for other prep on the day of the party!!! And ohh BTW u ladies are the best!!

  • Hmmmm...but not the typical right way

  • Excellent recipe. However, I didnt know how to make breadcrumbs and went looking for it on Google. Surprise Surprise, I found a link to how one does it on your own site. I tried to post teh link here but, YOUTUBE did not let me post the link here.

    Thanks

  • ew peanuts in aloo tikki!

  • @TheNick84970 yuky lol

  • i hate fenugreek leaves, is it necessary to add them

  • @tini1298

    You can leave them out.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry thnks

  • are the bread crumbs optional

  • @tini1298

The bread crumbs really add a nice crisp coating to the tikkis.

  • @tini1298

I like to coat them in corn flour. It's a really nice wheat-free way to go.

  • Hi Anuja & Hetal. Is that a cast iron skillet you're using?

  • @1slamicLife : It is a non-stick skillet.

  • Some good chefs on you tube. But I wish chefs would remove their jewellery when cooking. It's so unhygienic.

  • @ShowMeTheCurry:

Sorry for being that strong in stating my opinion. I take back the profanity and I'm really sorry again. But really, I know a lot might disagree with me, but what stops me watching your fantastic videos is this certain thing. You might not help it and choose not to care if I want to watch them or not but I've been in an English-speaking country for so long that I can tell what accent is what.

When you get an accent naturally, you don't get it wrong and only on certain words.

  • @contactrobol

There are so many variations of recipes to make this world and the web interesting. If our videos and presentation are not to your taste, you certainly have other choices. Peace.

  • @contactrobol

why are you such a hater? take some time to post a video yourself or just shut your trap, you are a huge idiot

  • @dwillyson : There is no one recipe of tikki that is authentic! Cheers and have fun :)

  • hey you probably remember me, anyway, do you have to use onions? and all of the other stuff or is it your choice? thanks again

  • @mizzishukaur : There are no rules to having fun and with cooking! Add in or leave out any ingredient :)

  • do we have to use bread crumbs can we use sumthin else

  • I tried it:( I have to say that my alu tikke broke...:(

I tried some years ago and i put inside of the tikke bread! and it really works...yummy and didnt broke.

  • thx

  • @arihant65 lets see what your accent would be like.Stop watching these videos if you don't like them.Don't be an assho()

  • I love what you ladies are doing. And no dairy products in this recipe, pure vegan, that's cool. The best way for the potatoes is to cook them the night before, in that way they will grate easily and not become too mushy. I guess the spices help to bind the texture, no flour needed.

  • @Arihant65 : Neither one of us putting on an accent! It would sound really fake if we spoke any other way....

    Cheers!

  • Sorry this person is such an ignorant a-hole. We love your show and food.

  • @Arihant65

    Jealous?

  • @Arihant65 aahahaha

  • hiya. thx for the lovely recipe. however, i want to point out that 1:48- 1:53 Anuja says i have washed my hands, which is part of food hygiene but removing jewellery is also vital as that can spread bacteria. please can you reove jewellery when you cook. thankyou.

  • also covering hair is important.

  • u both r really cute n sweet.............

  • how can i make bread crumps at home ?

  • @sweetythebest : Please check out our video on "Homemade Breadcurmbs"

  • @ShowMeTheCurry : got it.. thanks :)

  • whenever i try to make,it breaks. what should i do ?

  • @kulvirkhasa24 : try adding a little bit of maida (flour) to help bind the tikkis.

  • @kulvirkhasa24 Also, try forming your patties and being really delicate with them. Once you seer a crust on one side, it will hold together nicely.

  • you guys are awesome ..!!! love you for showing easy ways to cook... :)

  • Can I use methi powder instead of the leaves?

  • @emails2vikram

Using methi powder will give you a very bitter taste (unless you use just a pinch). The leaves are much milder.

  • i tryd making this at home. but it didnt come out so great, As i didnt fold the tikki's tight enough before frying and all fell apart. :(

  • Some potatoes are starchy and some not...try with the starchy kind. It will help bind...otherwise add a little bit (1-2 tsp) of All-purpose flour (maida).

    That should help.

  • oh ok, il try that next time.

    Thanks! (:

  • OMG i had this with a burger and it tastes awesome

  • how are patties beautiful 2 u lol? i wnder

  • and please behave normally u act too goody goody common!!!!!

  • which potatoes did u hunnies use?

  • We usually use russet potatoes or red potatoes.

  • thank you!

    x

  • look's good. never had this, have to try.

  • How do you get the smell of the methi leaves out of your hands after you have crushed them? Ive found that my hands will smell like methi for 1-2 days after Ive cooked with it!

  • You could rub some lime on your hands and then wash them well with soap and water.

  • would it work the same for any aloo mixture or just that mixture?

  • Are there any herbs that could be substituted for the fenugreek leaves? Anything to get a close flavor?

  • Really, fenugreek has a very unique flavor so there is not a good substitute for it. You can just omit them.

  • how do you make breadcrumbs at home? is it just... breadcrumbs? or do you have to fry it or something?

  • Making bread crumbs at home can be as simple as toasting bread in the oven for a long time at a low temperature...basically dehydrating it. Then, you can put it in a food processor and crush it into crumbs. You can also put it in a ziploc bag and pound on it with something heavy.

  • hi, do u have a recipe to make chat masala and garam masala at home.

    thanks

  • Great one!! good work ladies!!

  • hi to both!!!!!!!

ohhhh dats nice......i tried it n it was delicious

You can't eat it without chutney?

  • Please visit our website ShowMeTheCurry (dot) com. We have a recipe and video for mint chutney as well as tamarind chutney.

  • Thanks, for the chutney

  • Really really nice....

Like it and you simplified very nicely.

    Thanks....

  • I do make aloo tiki but have never put chaat masala or peanuts in it, but will def try it next time. I coat my tiki's with egg?

  • How boring it would be if all recipes were identical. Have a nice day yourself.

  • Thanks ladies....:-)

  • Looks awesome - can't wait to make some. You guys are really enjoyable to watch. :) Great job.

Just an FYI, heated nonstick cookware can give off odorless toxic fumes that can kill pet birds. You might want to consider using other kinds of cookware. :)
