  • What a beautiful vocal performance. Stevie needs to collect these demos and release them on an album. Too many people made money off her back with those - now SHE should.

  • Poetry and your name is sister. Beutifull

  • Nancy Wilson (Heart) & Stevie Nicks down packed image and raw talent! They inspire all true artists!!!!!! These womens voices are haunting & so entertaining...goose bumps

These beautiful women could rock your mind hard & make you cry with their ballards, both genres always had meaning, whether from own experience or knowledge, true entertainers! I wish I was blessed enough to cross their paths, no only for my own self but for my child who is 16 and just starting to appreciate real music! x

  • what the hell is wrong with ye peolple, this wasnt about how any opf ye feel, this wasnt about anyone else.

  • Whoever wrote this long dialogue about Stevie....well if you can find mine , you will see that I love her too .But , how can you be so insightful ? Are you sure you aren't writing about yourself or something ? I mean , are these facts , or your opinion , or your desires , or what ? Not meant to hurt your feelings at all...I just wonder ....??? How can you know so much ???

  • @MrCretemaniam this IS stevies heartfealt song, why do ye have such a problem eith that

  • Again, this demo is better than what was finally put out by the record company. In my humble opinion, the song needed some minor tweaks but he studio went way overboard.

  • This is fantastic :) Stevie rocks forever :D

  • wisper this-sweet songtree-of women-eomanhood-does any one now here the finenite in tis its an angel

  • after seeing some of these photos, it is apparent that beautiful Stevie had some work done on her booger box. good job by the way.

  • @peteporter why in the fuck would yu care to say something like that?

  • This is a great version of this song, a demo I understand, but beautiful..

  • a mystical and beautiful soul...deeper than any depth...and a voice like honey...

  • nice interpretation...but for me, it is different. A lesson in discipline. She got HERE from THERE. Not by accident.

  • Makes me think of my sweet, sister Ines. luv it.

  • This is at least as good as the final version. In some ways it's better. It would hurt everyone's ego but I'd love a full album of her demos for FM songs. While buckingham and FM gave her a lot (a name/platform from which to perform, confidence) she brought just as much to them.

  • Geillllller song

  • This is my favorite version...unadulterated Stevie fairly early in her career.

  • This is so unbelievably awesome! I am near to sayin that it would have been much better if she had stayed on her own completely, just voice and piano and no such rockstar thing that nearly ruined her life.

  • Rumours, one of he best recordings of all times

  • She is .... Purely Amazing! Her voice is so captivating. There is, nor will there ever be... another Stevie! To all her sisters of the moon, Luv Ya!

  • Amazing... Wow!

  • SADLY...She has NEVER performed this since that tour.

  • There are 178,633 views today.... I think 10,000 of them are mine !

  • ..Amazing as auditions go? .....Stevie knocks it out of the park----love , love, love.... Sister of the Moon... For my Girls Erf & Nerf..

  • i feel like this song sets me free inside, that voice runs over my soul, true heart at its best. stivie was about the music and true beauty rather than that hunger for lust and fame. times today are ever changing but not all changes are for the best, one day i hope to see more people like stivie taking the stage of our world today.

  • Love this thx 4 sharing!!

  • Yes. I agree. Stevie never exposed a lot of skin..she is classy. She dresses like someone out of the past and is mesmerizing. She moves like an angel. I am grateful I grew up in the times I did. What these young girls are exposed to now is truly sad.

  • Amen! From tv, to movies to music its all FLAT...it means absolutely nothing...just fluff sex and fluff

  • OMG, Stevie, just pure Stevie. Timeless!!

  • Happy B_DAY!Miss Steive Nicks.You Remain Always Loved<3 PEACE~ r.

  • OK, have ta weigh in. Gotta be my fav youtube. This song was also unique for me back when it was actually heard on the radio. Won't bore you w/saga of me working in lighting in LA and coming close to meeting the band and Courage (a manager) et al. It's possible this was written, in part, in a hotel outside Buffalo. Heard in a radio interview, would love to confirm that, as I'm from those parts. Love that they unearthed it for recent tour : ) Miss Christine though. Be good.

  • Please, please tell me where I can download this version? I love it!

  • @LFNAnniversaryDVD go to a 'youtube to mp3' converter website and copy it from here! i don't usually, but it's the only way to get hold of this rare stevie stuff

  • Yep, incredible stuff.. gratitude to you for posting this classic masterpiece. Thanks, come hang out with us at Bella Czar1 anytime.. love to have ya. Peace.

    Jim Weiss - Bella Czar

  • I feel if it was not for stevie, fleetwood mac would still be looking to be a band. she is the ONE that put them on the map!

  • beautiful

  • I fell in love with this song the moment I heard It ~ the lyrics are amazing ! Stevie is a true poet & romantic ~ my sister of the moon ~

  • very nice

  • Time to release all these demos on cd. Ive met people who say Stevei isnt talented. They are wrong. This is beautiful.

  • Spectacular! I always wished the Tusk version had the lines

"and so we make our choices

when there never really was any choice

    we listen to their voice

    ignoring our own voice"

Don't we all do that, doing what others expect, instead of what we need. Brilliant.

  • I AM A VIRGIN

  • Hermes Alchemist~ I ask oh so humbly to include myself in your kharma point post i i i after many lessons and years alone i also finally claim the freedom card as well...

  • Stevie+Piano=Pure Magic.

  • PERFECT. JUST PERFECT.

  • my fav female artist since '74......singer/poet/composer...the best!!!

    thanks for sharing this.

  • I was born in 85. I love the rumors album. How come though this song is listed twice on the album?

  • Thank you for posting xx

  • This is the best version i have ever heard x

  • me too

  • She is always calling out to me. This song is another brilliant, unique and beautiful melody, it is another ballad. Why isn't this available on cd? Stevie? Your a capela (except for the piano) version of Sisters of the Moon has again sent to me a different time and place in my mind and you were with me all the way. Thanks to the person who supplied this lovely clip.

  • i have brand new cd's that don't sound this clear..lol. Sounds like she's sitting next to me singing, so freaking beautiful.

  • This is AMAZING! Thank you for adding !!!! <3

  • Awesome version! Thanks for posting!

  • my god she can sing! :)

  • sing me to sleep my beautiful girl

  • a sad story indeed, but I am greatfull she does exist!! I am her other sister...

  • AWSOME SONG!!!

  • she is soooo so so beautiful. what a cool life

  • My dream in life has always been to be able to sit down have a cup of tea with her and talk. I hold on to that dreams. Sometimes dreams come true.

  • @GenSnow You choose well who you would talk to.....I have the same dream, with many people...but who knows....? Maybe Stevie would be just as thrilled to have tea with YOU...Or maybe I would be THRILLED to have tea with YOU....you rarely, definitely know who is gonna inspire you...that's why I like Stevie Nicks soooo much..the magic and the mystery.....clw

  • Lindsey Buckingham had always referred to Stevie's songs as raw.. and there is no doubt he created some remarkable music .. but this girl was his equal...

I remember from the impact that "Rumours" had on everyone in my year at school...

    simply ... no words !!

  • @bpwaddell Stevie is Far Superior to Lindsey Buckingham or anyone else, FM would have been nothing without her

  • that's a really good version. i might have this on a bootleg.

  • I really LOVE this version so VERY MUCH!!!! Just keep replaying it over and over !!! I LOVE YOU Stevie !!!! Thanks for your talent and great songs and beauty !!!!!!!

  • Intense silence as she walked in the room, Her black robes trailing, Sisters of the moon, Heavy persuasion, It was hard to breathe, She was dark at the top of the stairs, And she called to me, And so, I followed, As friends often do, I cared not for love nor money, I think she knew, The people they love her, And still they're the most cruel, She asked me be my sister, Sister of the moon, So we make our choices when there is no choice The creative GENIUS of Stevie Nicks. Blessed be!
  • Make this downloadable please!!! I want this brilliant piece of art on my Ipod <33

  • I love this song. The first time I heard it I replayed it about twenty times. Such passion and her voice sounds amazing here. I can imagine her when she was younger singing this. I have always weanted to meet her as she is an idol of mine. But through her music I feel close to her relating to her through her songs . Thank you for sharing this song.

  • Stevie is a gifted songwriter and her voice is simply magical. I live this song everday. I know how it feels to be wrapped in "velvet robes of gloom." Thanks Stevie for this beautiful song. You captured how some of us feel even though it was about yourself. You are truly amazing.

  • Unreal!!!!!!! Where did you find this! The final recording is of course a masterpiece but amazing to hear her when she still had her full instrument. The most UNDERRATED American singer - a total original in a world full of that same RB derivative noise.

  • Show's Nicks' raw talent...true artist

  • Show's Nicks' raw talent...true artist

  • I've never heard this version before...it so rocks

  • Sorry Trinityharrold I meant to put a thumbs up-I'm not very good at this yet.

  • I'm 13 & am completely in love with Stevie Nicks. I so wish I was around to see fleetwood Mac in their prime. 60's, 70's & 80's stuff is so much better than the stuff today!

  • On the Eighth day GOD created . Stevie Nicks K! Next!

  • Beautiful........... Just Breathless. (:

  • I'm speechless!!! She is the reason I began writing poetry. This is an absolute masterpiece!!!! I am inspired once again to write.

  • Wow I marvel at the awesomeness of her voice

  • well not all of her fans are cruel to her i know i am not i love her music to much if she choose to leave rock and roll then i will accept it stevie nicks is one of the most giving singers in the world

  • where can i get a copy of this version i downloaded a live version from the tusk tour from limewire this is a great song and one of the many best ones from tusk

  • Her voice is so beautiful . . . has been a light for me since I was a teenager.

  • Hope You Love music like Deb did!

  • this has touched my soul...beautiful...stevie's music is beyond words...

    thank you for posting this..

  • BEAUTIFULLY AMAZING... I LOVE STEVIE... SHE IS AN AMAZING ARTIST <3

  • one of the many guitar books I bought of them...

  • So beautiful.

  • Flamingcrystal, you have the BEST posts - thank you. This is probably my favorite Stevie song - although it's difficult to choose. I love the lyrics left out of the Tusk version - "so we make our choices....ignoring our own voice." When my daughter Rhiannon was married last year, my son walked me down the aisle of the church to the song "Rhiannon". I've already told my son, husband and daughter, I want this version of Sisters played at my funeral - when the time comes that is!

  • Flamingcrystal, you have the best posts ever - thank you! It's hard to choose, but this is probably my favorite song by Stevie. I love the part not included in the Tusk version - "So we make our choices...ignoring our own voice"

At my daughter Rhiannon's wedding, my son brought me down the aisle of the church to "Rhiannon", the first song I loved by Stevie. I've already told my son, daughter and husband that when I die, "Sisters of the Moon" is what I want played at my funeral!

  • @rhiannon1984 I almost named my daughter Rhiannon,i wanted to really but the dad did not like it.I replied to you because I understood your devotion in general to Stevie or Fleetwood Mac,this is such a beautiful song that not many have heard or appreciate.I have my favs which are many.I love when she sings with her sister in law,it is on my channel.

  • @Sfugapapere of course stevie is still alive where have you been

  • Girl band cover of landslide, we Love you stevie! ubersite.com/m/124616

  • Pretty much my favourite song by her. "Rhiannon" would be 2nd place. I love this version because it's just her and a piano and I love how her voice sounds in this recording. <3 <3 <3 Love you, Stevie!

  • I love her voice here also. The drugs, smoking, and alcohol will take a toll on your vocals. Most people have made fun of the fact she vibrates her vocals, but as a youth I have always loved that. A lady in my church sang like that as well, I loved her voice. Stevie Nicks is Queen and the ultimate sister of the moon. We all wish we could be her.

  • My favorite Stevie/FM song, love this piano version too. such a beautiful song, gives me chills

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs Stevie has done. Her voice is clear, sweet, and innocent. There's not many out there that could hold a candle to her! When you can sit alone, sing with only one instrument, and sound this good, it just shows how talented you really are. Even her high notes sound good. She never really needed anyone to sing along side her, & her aura has always been very, very, strong, & will always remain strong. SHE is addicting, just like the drugs she once took :)

  • wow, this brings back so many memories.

  • Utterly amazing!!!

Back in those days artists needed to be real good to sell records. Nowadays to be successful the bitches just need to grab a microphone, be or act as a slut, expose intimate parts and shake some ass on tv. Sad, sad, sad!!

  • @titodude: Nancy Wilson once said in an interview that "nowadays it's all about the image and no longer about the music".

  • @rayva1 - When you have no music within you - image is all you can have.

  • Who are you people who keep posting these great demos? How did you come by them? We want to hear your stories! Mostly, whoever you are, we heart you, big time, lol!

  • she has the sweetest sounding voice @ this time...so clear and clean sounding

  • Gorgeous.

  • Wow this HAS to be my new favorite..but yet when it comes to Stevie aren't they all? Brilliant is right!

  • This is such a beautiful touching version of this Stevie classic.. thank you, so very much, for sharing this.... magic.

  • so enchanting so haunting and so mystical and mysterious, i love love love it,

  • great job at with your info flamingcrystal!

    keep it up!

  • Really nice version of the song, I love it.

    I have never heard it before, thank you for having shared it (o;

  • WOW that was simply astonishing, one great version of one great singers greatest song, i never thought i would hear SOTM sung like that, Thanks to the post-er and thanks to Stevie Nicks

  • @aquaskates i can see the resemblance. stevie is just so much better.

  • @aquaskates Lol That's weird. Gaga and Stevie are probably my favorites, but that's just..Wow. That's really..strange. XD Lady Gaga kind of reminds me of Cher, and Cher's got a few songs that remind me of Stevie, but I can't seem to find any similarities between Lady Gaga and Stevie Nicks. XD

  • @SnowWhiteQueen29 um that's nice that you have your own opinions but you don't need remake with some similiarity you find between gaga and cher. I think that they share similarities in how evolutionary they were in their times, and this song is about fame and it's toll on stevie's private life as can be compared to Lady Gaga's fame c.d or more specifically paparazi(sp?)

  • @aquaskates.this comment isn't to sound cruel i just thought i'd remark on the similarities so people will stop commenting on my opinion there's no way i'm changing it our taking it back :P peace.

  • @aquaskates Oh! I hadn't looked at it that way. I was thinking more of looks and performances, rather than the song meanings and whatnot. You're very right. =)

  • Calls my spirit....calls to me...

    wonderful....beautiful....thankyou.

  • This is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥

  • this is the first thing that comes up when im trying to find tusk?

  • Wooooooooooooow thanks for Posting Flaming Crystal !!! Rock On... nicksfan052648

  • great version!

  • Awesome Stevie! Flaming Crystal...your commentary added depth to the video. Thank you for sharing this...oh my...almost TWO YEARS ago! May everyone have a groovy day! :) xoxo ;)

  • What a PERFECT version of this song....sing it Stevie !!!! I love you Thanks for the GREAT Music and your talent and beauty !!!!! This is Incredible !!!!!!

  • I love her. I've seen her in concert solo and with Fleetwood Mac very recently and she's still got it. I do wish that this song was part of the set list at one of those shows. It's definitely one of her best ones. Thank you for posting this!

  • Fantastic !

  • Heart wreching magic

  • Beyond cool....I think She is a Power Higher than what we understand

  • This reminds me of a woman with whom I had a spiritual bond...Where are you now?? Wish you knew not everything you've heard is done by me....

  • One word......Brilliant....

  • heavy persausion- hard to breath- she was dark at the top of the stairs and she called to me,,,,happens every day

  • Outstanding. I had the great good fortune of hearing the demo of Gypsy the night it was recorded shared as a gift by Stevie's former assistant, and was at the recording of Fireflies. I thought nothing would surpass those. This does.

Stevie taps into universal source that predates Rhiannon -- to Nix who arose in the chaos of the night.

THANKS for posting, Flaming Crystal. 1,000,000 good karma points and a "Get out of Purgatory Free" card for you.

    Namaste.

    Hermes Alchemist

  • When she did this, her voice was in top form....several years later it seemed like her delivery had become more mannered... more consistently nasal. Very nice demo.

  • Or maybe the room is just the concert halls...

  • @kyegirl2001 I always assumed it was because her fame meant she was never on her own but your theory sounds much better.

  • I think I finally get that line "The people they loved her...they kept filling up her room." I remember she said she had a room in her house just filled with all the toys she got thrown at her in concerts etc... Wonder if that's what she meant...

  • Out of pain, comes the most beautiful art! Thanks so much for posting. Stevie is such a great song writer and singer. Her loneliness and heartbreak has created some of the best songs of all time. Sad for the pain she went through...but also very thankful to have the products of it!!!

  • This is so eerie. I love this!

  • Im trippin on this....I was trippin in75' but this blows my ever lovin mind...She is better than She could of ever known???? I wonder?... She came in at the right time.... 74/75'...A little Joni Mitchell type

  • This demo is just so beautiful, 'cause we get to hear Stevie, Stevie's real talent, simply. This thing shows how much she is great. I think that this song should have stayed as simple as that. Piano, and her AMAZING voice, and lyrics, and everything. I f*cking love Stevie Nicks !

  • Fantastic... Most of the feeling of this song is lost on the album recording

  • I fully agree with you

  • this is the best version of this song......

  • GREAT PICS

  • this gives me goose bumbs

  • Is there a word stronger than beautiful? Because I need one to describe this song...:/

  • beautiful. love this song. <3333

  • Lovely thanks for posting!

  • .....does anyone know my name (says it all)

Thank you for posting this absolutely beautiful demo; I prefer it to the studio cut

  • I think I do too

  • I can't stop crying.

Tatooed, black widow spider. yes,it makes sense. never forget. 9/11.

  • Stevie is incredible....this song is amazing!

  • Comment removed

  • i think i can hear stevie's high heels keeping the tempo right?

  • I forget what it is called but there is a thing musicians use to keep the tempo of their song while they play. I think that may be what it is

  • ah the metronome!!!i should have known...thanks alot stillness!!!!!!

  • "The people, they love her

And still they are the most cruel"

is sad and a pisser. >(

i love you like you dont know stevie

your songs are a gift to the spirit

    thank god for you, lady.

  • Intense silence As she walked in the room Her black robes trailing Sister of the moon And a black widow spider makes More sound than she And black moons in those eyes of hers Made more sense to me Heavy persuasion It was hard to breathe She was dark at the top of the stairs And she called to me
  • And so I followed As friends often do I cared not for love, nor money I think she knew The people, they love her And still they are the most cruel She asked me Be my sister, sister of the moon Some call her sister of the moon Some say illusions are her game They like to wrap her in velvet Does anyone know her name?
  • "It is typical among big stars to feel isolated and alone, and the impact of the first years has to be the toughest." You're right flamingcrystal, fame was a golden prison for many stars who, fortunatly, had fans, but sometimes nobody else... so violent contrast. Hope time is now on her side...

    Thanks

  • She is still absolutely gorgeous.Sadly, she doesnt have any children who would have been able to carry on her genes and legacy...She is a beautiful lady and Stevie will live on forever.....

  • I love your anaylsis of Stevie's lyrics in your more information. Fantastic! However, don't feel so sorry for Stevie. Yes, it's sad she felt lonliness but all humans feel lonely sometimes. Even people who are married with kids kids feel lonely without friends at times. Stevie was loved by a whole generation of people more than any other female rocker, saw places no one else will see, and experienced fame and wealth few will ever know. So, let's not "cry for Stevie." She was loved & blessed.
