He's probably right. The students protested over the tuition fees rising, so it was only a matter of time before the benefit claimants would protest over the vast benefit cuts. It isn't surprising that their version of protesting is much worse than the students either. If your benefits were cut for 6 months (as in you weren't allowed them) and you lost your home and your dignity, what would you have to lose? And that cut could be just because you are actually disabled but denied ESA.

In the USA, I find it is the "Progressive-Liberal" policies which fostered the welfare "State" in the 1960's (Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society") that "experiment's" results are people who are born into a never ending circle of drop outs, unwanted preganancies (more kids you get more money), and on it goes.
