You are copying-pasting a previous post as a reply to me, even though you have called me a troll? I have already addressed the rest of the solar system temperature changes in a previous post, so read and reply to that. What I have not addressed is your reference to Lindzen. I have been reading and this is a summary: He acknowledges that the Earth is warming. He acknowldeges that human actions contribute to that up to 30%. When asked about the consequences, he says: we don't know. cont...
This moron says deforestation causes climate change (global warming)
Not withstanding the fact that the sun causes climate change, under his moronic line of thinking, it is Co2 that causes climate change
Trees happen to be one of the highest purveyors of C02 - Thus, according to this morons wisdom, we should be chopping down all the trees in order to slow down "climate change"!
This is why Americans are 2nd only to Mexico in education & illiteracy among industrialized nations!
Man, you are really confused if you think trees porvey CO2. Do a quick search on "CO2 O2 cycle" and read some texts on how we - animals - are CO2 producers and trees, plants and other photosyntetic living organisms absorb that CO2 during their nutrition processes. You can also search for "photosynthesis"
I"m a physician, and literally on my office wall is a 4 by 5 foot picture of the biosythesis of the animal cell linked to the photosynthesis in a plant cell; so I probably know something about the topic
In fact, one of the earths largest producers of C02 is vegetation, (particularly dying leaves, etc.)
Refer to my other comments too
Man made C02 is a fraction of 1 percent; & ice is melting on Mars & the moons of Jupiter, et al, as well
Abdussamatov's theory about solar cycles causing global warming in Mars and Earth were controversial since they were released and evidence against that theory has been presented by other scientists, so I do not understand why you take his theory as an absolute truth. The sun cycles do produce changes in Earth's temperature; however, they cannot be solely blamed for the current warming trend. The tests to relate solar cycles and Mars warming are inconclusive and there are other plausible explan.
"In fact, one of the earths largest producers of C02 is vegetation, (particularly dying leaves, etc.)"
Decomposing biomass does not release CO2 directly into the athmosphere, instead it is re-absorbed by the soil, restarting the carbon cycle. It is biomass *combustion* (like burning coal) what causes CO2 to be release to the athmosphere directly, having a direct impact on athmosphere's warming. The global carbon budget already accounts for decomposing plants, but not for human-burnt coal.
I have never read anything written by or heard Al Gore talk before (I do not live in the USA); but I take it what I am arguing matches his way of thinking. If that is the case he is also in agreement with the consensus among the global scientific community and the measurable evidence. As I said before, you can save me your conspiracy theories, they are no good in this discussion. Global warming is an issue of science, not politics, so argue with facts. Ad-hominem falacies will not take you far.
The facts do not change: the conclusions derived from the facts do, when we add more evidence and make additional research and observations. In order to discuss rationally, you simply have to keed adding facts into the discussion and derive conclusions from them. That is the scientific and rational way of doing things.
Haha, perhaps I misinterpreted which side of the argument your comment was directed toward. I accept the evidence for man-made climate change, I'd like to be certain what claim you stand for before I "posture". Cheers, hail science. ;-)
no i am completely in the know of the human cause of climate change, the fact that it is affecting the other parts of the solar system is purely coincidental....
it's more like if there is some thing going on in the solar system ie. gravitational shift, solar flares dying down. i am sure that C12 foot prints are not going to make matters any better....
Hundreds of top scientists, including the highly respected Richard Lindzen of MIT, signed onto the CATO petition outlining how the Global Warming politics is a fraud
Rehm Emanuel, White House chief of staff, never let a serious crisis go to waste Its an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before
Are our SUV emissions causing the receding polar ice caps of Mars, (several miles a year & much faster than earths), & the melting of the moons of Saturn & Jupiter?
Get out of here, the USA does not have any moral ground to ask other countries to do anything until the internal environmental problems are addressed. Coal, gas, waste, fix that first and then you can try to advice someone else.
Historically, Temperature reduction leads reduction in C02 by 800 years. Thus, C02 does NOT cause global warming. Every Ice Core survey in the world has revealed exactly this same thing.
Volcanoes make many times more C02 each year than all the man-made sources combined; more still is produced by animals & bacteria. An even larger source still is dying vegetation! But the biggest sources by far are the oceans!
It does not matter how many CO2 natural processes create, because the Earth processes are already balanced. What matters is that we are adding a surplus CO2 to the usual CO2-O2 cycle, therefore making the nature unable to process the additional CO2, which traps more light from the sun and derives in global warming. So yes, it is created by the Sun, but only because of excess CO2. It is not me saying this search for "nasa fact sheets CO2" and see what NASA has to say about it.
I will not comment on you conspiracy theories, believe on what you find most convenient. NASA is a scientific organization and you will not change that in a sentence or two.
Mars' short-term warming trend is much more likely due to changes on the planet's orbit and the warming on Triton back in 2007 was due to an unusually hot summer on the Jupiter's moon, which happens cyclically every few hundred years. The solar cycles are nothing more than a evasive scapegoat for the warming caused by us.

This is pretty hypocritical when the former governor of IOWA just decided that the government should subsidize even more widespread clearcut destruction of old growth temperate rainforest. Somebody should probably tell him that in SE Alaska when you cut down a forest, you don't get topsoil, you get rock and muskeg, and it takes 200 years of degraded or destroyed fish and wildlife habitat before another mature forest takes its place.

I know Iowa doesn't have any pristine wilderness or intact natural ecosystems left, so maybe he doesn't understand this.
Or maybe now that he's upgraded to a national-level political hack, he's decided to climb into bed with more corporations than just Monsanto.
