Great stunning video, thanks a lot! Are there many green waves in Manhattan (traffic lights simultaneously green, so you don't have to stop all the time).
i love doing shit like this. i don't think it has to be dangerous holding camera while driving because i don't get honked at and the people in my car don't get scared. it takes a rare talent to navigate nyc if you're not from there. i probably drive too fast on the expressways tho.
Oh yeah, this is the cat's ass. I live over in north Jersey some of the time so I go through the city pretty often going to Brooklyn to see relatives. I know a lot of people that are afraid to drive in the city but I'm not one of them. I actually get off on it. Drive too fast? what does that mean?
Sorry mikhail2000 but I have the feeling that the infastructure of the USA is falling apart and not just New York. But perhaps the infrastructure of New York looks so bad because it is so old. It started in the 1930's and I have the feeling that the last maintenance crew passed by somewhere in the mid 1980's....
I haven't visited the USA yet but I have seen the images on tv and I most say that I find them to be rather disturbing.
Having not kept up on what music is popular in the gay community, I appreciate you keeping on top of things like that. I'll leave Blur out of my new videos. Everything is decaying but in NYC they rebuild faster than the decay.
Your video brings back fond memories of when I lived in New York. I laughed with glee when I got a glimpse of the Mr. Softee truck! In fact, I'm so in love with NYC that I'm probably moving back this year! Thanks for the fun ride.
Thanks so much for the nice comments. Like you, I also love NYC. There is no place I have ever been that compares. Myself, I enjoy driving around in the city. My wife enjoys shopping and things like the Today Show so I drop her and her friends off and cruise around. Although gasoline costs a lt in New York now, it is still cheaper than parking.
lol well the mr softee truck isn't so much fun when it parks outside your house at 9:00 on the dot every night for 10 minutes at a time with the music blasting :]
awesome video! Fun to watch and educational. For example, let's say someone from ...oh...Toronto..is driving in NYC and doesn't want to find themselves in the wrong lane attempting to merge without looking like a lost tourist and pissing everyone off...I, er..they, can watch these and get some little tips. Well done
NYC traffic is always heavy but it usually still moves. DC traffic has to be the worst, even compared to LA. Since I am going to LA in a few weeks, I'll report back on the accuracy of my statement.
The reason that NYC traffic flows, some of the time, better than other American cities that are smaller like LA and DC, is because so many people use public transportation in the NYC area. If there werent the train/bus systems in NYC like LA, NY would have the most horrific traffic in the world.
DC has a big sunway system, not sure about LA. New York City has mega-traffic but people there seem to understand that if you go faster, you get places faster.
I started out in Houston. I went to LA, LA to Dallas, Dallas to NYC and back home in less than 1 hour.
The song and or band in the video is fantastic. Who done this song?

"...and yeah, I know how dangerous it is holding an 8oz. camera while driving but I figured it was safer than holding a 12oz LeBatt Blue."
Safer than squaking on a 2 oz. cell phone in traffic.
What are you driving?

Keep your LA talk in LA. We don't need words like Esse back east.
