This is the only song I really like by these guys. If you're gonna be shoegazey, you need to have a very lush or a very loud guitar sound. All that electronic shit either needs to be in the background, like it is here, or not there at all. Otherwise you sound like Shiny Toy Guns.

There's nothing wrong with labels, but anyone who actually limits themselves from doing x, y or z simply because "it doesn't fit the genre" doesn't deserve to be paid attention to.

@3DSismash No, I can faintly hear the famicom in the intro/verse throughout the whole song. There are lots of blips throughout the song. I can hear the famicom at all parts of the song. At 1:25 it's the most apparent. It's not hard to hear. I think the people complaining are just stupid and don't have a good ear.

This is pretty good stuff. Just found out about these guys today. Very similar to Lush indeed. My two favorite shoegazer songs are Slowdive's "Souvlaki Space Station" and Lush's "Monochrome." So is this style of music making a significant comeback? I sure hope so because I ve been making music for half my life and have several hundred finished tunes. I'm 31 now but I've never tried to do anything with them. My stuff is somewhat shoegaze-like but not quite. Check out my page if you like

When I first heard this song I loved it and I was glad to find out TDG continued their great work after their IN HER GENTLE JAWS debut album. Now It's hard for me to stop playing SPIRIT YOUTH, whole the album. Simple, melodic, beautiful, floating music for times when dreampop, shoegaze or whatever the name you want to give to it deserves to be back in the media and enhance our collections of must-have bands. 4 thumbs up.
