I have an question, if we r noobs who jus started do u really think we will have all those strong armors n weapons? Jus voicin ma opinion cause I doubt everyone who has trouble with plesioth started the game with all them equipments ur using...

I purposefully oriented everything about this guide around the beginner player. The equipment I am wearing is skull face with full bone, one of the easiest (if not the easiest) armour sets to get in the game. It's the kind of armour even a newb hunter would have graduated past before even reaching the kut-ku. The weapons are basic as well; anyone who has a basic understanding of the game would have crafted better weapons prior to attempting the Plesioth.

@ski751 yes, and there are enough water creatures in mh tri (im not that far, but so far i cant make so much armor that is good against fire (before i started changing my armor, my fire was -8, and one qurupeco firehit online could take damage to half my health)

well one thing i got that armour it's pretty primitive nad cool but if look at the butt while you re collecting something crouched you'll have a horrible vison of your hunter.

i also suggest the other people to use hammer because of its high power damage and can make the plesioth flopping on the floor just do the super pound while he spits out the water and triple pound every time he do the revolving between his legs and he'll became weak i no time but try to master the timing

just press triangle when you have a great sword or hammer when they finished spitting sand you have to get behind them then whammo! it jumps and lands on the ground struggling to get back up its feet while you put it out of it's misery

if you're gunna go with dual swords against the plesioth.....DON'T unless your are the number one dodger in the world and wont get hit

IM a sword and shield guy, I recommend a poison or stun weapon for the plesioth: Poison Battle axe is easy enough to make and and deathprize is the best stun weapon for SnS.

hey uh, i hit it with a sonic bomb, and it goes fine, until halfway through the fight....then when i hit it with ANOTHER flash bomb, ya know..to scare it out of the water...it only does that stunned animation and continues to swim....

Meaning i just wasted my sonic bomb...

Is there a way to avoid that?

I always find them in a rock located in the Southwest corner of area 3 (Jungle). Worms are more common but Frogs can be obtained there.

@kirtap8895 you used a the serpent blade series? cool me too only i used the great\ serpent blade on the cephadrome... except for when it was still an urgent quest, i was forced to use vile serpent..it took me 1 hour to slay it since i kept on familiarizing its attacks on my first try

To catch a wyvern you have to weaken him to the point of limping then trap him using a pitfall or shock trap. While he is trapped throw tranqs at him until he falls asleep. If he is weak enough he'll be captured.

It would be, has great blocking ability and high power. Really though, the most important thing to keep in mind when choosing a weapon type is what you enjoy playing with. If you don't know how to play with a Gunlance, then it doesn't matter if its the strongest weapon in the game, you'll do better with what you like to wield.

No way. Eternal Strife is almost completely elemental based, with minimal attack power. Plesioth isn't even that weak against dragon damage, so I would recommend something a little more powerful.

Well, SnS is a good choice in my opinion, we just need a better weapon. Something like Thunderbane or Poison Battleaxe would be great. If you want to get to something more powerful, gunlances are also a great choice. Many other weapon classes are also good, just make sure you have something that can block for your first time with Plesioth.

In mhf2 I have killed well over 20 plesioths, most of them with TDS. And I don't really fight them that much.

I prefer using Longsword over Greatsword against plessy. LS is much more comfortable and quick, enabling many more openings you can take advantage of.

Well, I never played the original freedom, but in freedom 2 they are obtained from almost any high ranked monster.

hey im a longsword user, whats the best longsword known in the game and whats the list

Well, the 'best' longsword is kinda iffy. Some people say Gaelic Flame, others say Divine Slasher. I say they are both good. Personally (emphasis on personally) I like Gaelic Flame more, but thats because it looks way cooler, and thats how I play. I don't play to pretend to be the best, I just play to have fun.

uh how do you beat gypceros? what weapon to use? and armor?

Well, he's basically a rubber chicken. Greatsword/Longswords are good on him, so is fire element. He only spits poison, so your favorite armor combo should suffice.

His tail is the weakest place on his body. Next weakest is the wings. Just aiming for those two should consistently provide good results.

Yeah, just be sure to roll a lot.  SnS is my favorite weapon to use on Ples.

hmm, kut-ku is a bit weak to water for plesioth. Serpent blade is certainly strong enough, but if you have difficulty with it I would assume the armor is too weak. Gypceros would probably be strong enough for this battle.

Yeah, that great sword has decent raw power with exceptional lightning element. Since this guide deals mostly with the Great Sword just follow the same steps I do and you should be fine.

Dragon Agito should be good for this guy. I'm not much of a Great Sword user but if Dragon Agito is not working for you try the Iron Sword path. They may suit you better.

Flashbombs do work, their not great but they do give you a long enough opening to do some serious damage, or heal if that is needed.

Kut ku runs are both the simplest and the fastest way to make samll cash. Just speed through a quest, sell all of the rewards (unless you want something) then sell all of the carves. A good run can give you up to 2000z in less than a minute of combat, about 3 minutes overall (loading, selling, ect.)
