wow... when they all started throwing up peace signs and singing i felt like crying.... I looked in the soldiers eyes and even they were questioning the authority they've been serving and truly I think want to join their brothers and sisters in a movement for the people and by the people. GO ZAPATISTA!
zapatistas have my "unterstützung" ich kann halt nich so gut spanisch und englisch, aber meine meinung zu der neuen weltordnung, globalisierung hab ich genauso wie ihr, für mehr gerechtigkeit und gegen macht durch den staat, kein konsum , respektieves miteinander und respeckt zu natur, (beruht auf gegenseitigkeit^^) schöne grüße aus hitler-:(-deutschland, bad segetown is abgefuckt, aber noch nicht vollkommen^^, da sind noch ein paar gute burschen
hEY CHINGA !!! ES EL PUEBLO QUE DICE LO QUE QUIERE, NO GOBERNACION NI EL EJERCITO....QUE AL FINAL LA GRAN MAYORIA D SOLDADOS VIENEN DE EL MISMO PUEBLO, SOLO QUE TRABAAN PARA EL ESTADO,.....POR QUE NO HUBO DE OTRA ....AL FINAL EL GOBIERNO PONE A PELEAR AL PUEBLO CONTRA EL PUEBLO COMO SIEMPRE MIENTRAS ELLOS SE SIGUEN HACIENDO MAS RICOS......................hASTA CUANDO???
Y debemos unirnos, no dividirnos.
They should do this to the drug lords in Mexico. Chase them out and show to the world that they are different then those lazy border hoppers that fuck up other peoples countries.
i find it easy to see the work of the international bankers, bankers who are enslaving the world using corrupt people .how is it every country owes the same banks for supposedly helping poor people but here in the u s and everywhere people are just getting poorer but i'm suppose to get mad at somebody who is trying to take care of their family just like me.i'm mad the idiots we elect to help us and in my lifetime they only help international bankers.ALL POOR PEOPLE ARE GODS PEOPLE
@rotationsmaschine I tried to respond directly to you by replying but for some reason, it doesnt allow me to post it. I hope you are able to get this. The song is "El Himno Zapatista" (The Zapatist Anthem). As it explains, the music, with a very unique rythm, was taken from a famous song from the Mexican Revolution called "Carabina 30-30." You may find the lyrics and translation at this site.
@rotationsmaschine I tried to copy and paste the link. It does not allow me. This is very strange. It is the very first time any of my texts is blocked. However, if you just go to google and paste "Porque nuestra Patria grita y necesita lyrics"
There is a place qhere you can even get an instant translation here: "Traducir letra de Cancion Himno Zapatista de Flor Del Fango"
you can tell the mexican army doesnt want to fight, most of them agree with the zapatista and want to give them their land back, but they must follow orders and respect the authority and listen to the government
THe EZLN is a false hope for the natives. What they want to be free from the Mexican state under a socialist government. But they dont figure out is then what? Chiapas and the Yucatan doesnt have many resources, and taking away what little these people have, and making sure everyone has the same amount (Except a little more for Generalissimo Marcos of course) will only make them poorer. It would be horrible. The natives need to realized that more conflict will led to worse conditions for them.
@GermanConquistador08 Generalisssimo Marcos, really? ... Did he ever try to get more than others? (how about giving some examples where he actually did that or is that just something you made up in your mind?)
@drash I'd say thats impossible to tell isn't it? Its not like hes in he public eye and people know how well he lives, eats, etc. Look, Im not saying that he did or didnt, IM speaking from a historic point of view. In every rebellion like his, from Cuba, Russia, Venezuela, multiple African nations, Haiti, almost everytime a rebellion such as Marcos's happens, the leader of that rebellion lives in luxery. Im not saying Marcos is power hungry or greedy, but it happens to the best of men.
@GermanConquistador08 Yes, your right we can't tell that at the moment. But from what I've learned so far about the EZLN is that it became so popular because the movement is different from most other revolutionary movements. They (The Guerrillas themselves) do a lot of things different than revolutionary movements before. For example they have a civilian Base, which they (the Guerrillas) listen to, so Marcos is not the one who has all the Power he's just part of it.
@drash Hes the military commander, Subcomandate. While he might be absolute authoirty in the EZLN, neither does any other leader in history. And most revolution has a cviilian base. CUba, Russia, and China all did. The military was largely against each revolution in those three scenarios, it was civilian numbers with very good leadership.
@GermanConquistador08 I think you're right about the other Revolutions and that these things can happen to leaders with best intentions but i also think you might want to take a closer look to this one and not confuse the part Marcos is playing here with the part Fidel played in the Cuban Revolution for example.
@drash Also, Im not linking him to castro per see. However, for sake of arguement, lets say that another person would take leadership of his revolution. In all revolutions, after they end, a leader must emerge to take control, otherwise, there will just be civil war after that revolution, everytime it happens. Either a civil war would occur, which i highyl doubt, or a new leader would take power, and then the same arguement applies to him.
@GermanConquistador08 It's not Marcos Revolution he's just part of the Movement and has a higher Position in the Guerrilla which is also just a part of the Zapatista Movement. They are not trying to get the complete Control over Mexico (in opposite to all Revolutions before) but they are already setting up a better System in Chiapas which is more fair and democratic. If Marcos wanted to take Control over the Country he would have fought over the past decade with Guns and not just with Words.
@drash Velvet revolutions are still revolutions, regardless of a lack of actually attempted takeover. But regardless, I understand that hes not the leader and that he wants better life for Chiapas. However, doing that would mean cutting off ties TO the Mexican government, essentially making a new nation-state, meaning a new country, meaning someone has to lead this country because an anarchist state never is sustainable. Who would be the most likely leader if that happened? Marcos.
@GermanConquistador08 And with civilian Base i meant not just helpers or a mass of mislead people i meant organized civilians that actually tell the Guerrillas what they want and if they want them to fight. Marcos may be an important Person but he's not leading this Revolution and that's the point I'm trying to make. The civilians (mostly with indigenous background) decide in the Juntas (Caracoles) where this movement is heading to and the EZLN itself is just there for security and protection.
@drash The civilians want better living conditions, better standerd of living and a fairer government. Everyone around the world does, but organized revolution, doesnt cause either of these things, ever. Im not saying Marcos is the Directorate of the EZLN, Im saying, that he is the figurehead, the posterman of the EZLN and thats all it takes to become a true leader. Councils themselves have heads. Also, how is it that the citizens have mutally argeed on the type of government they want?
@GermanConquistador08 Of course it's a revolution and they want to change the political system and that means separating from the current Mexico but it's not bounded to Chiapas they're fighting for and with all Indigenas in Mexico. They are already separating from the Mexican government by setting up their own democratic system (look at the "good Government" and the Caracoles).
@drash Yes, thats what a revolution seeks, and I understand its for "all" indigenous peoples but, theres more than just the Mayas, Tzeltal, etc. in Southern Mexico. In this state, would all native peoples be welcomed? What about Mestizos, which are the majority of the people in Mexico. What about the soldiers or policia that are Mestizos or even Indios? Do they fit as equals? THeres a lot of questions the EZLN needs to answer if they want a state and not multiple communes.
@GermanConquistador08 As far as i understand the movement no one is being stopped from joining because of his origin. Soldiers and people from the Policia may join if they stop working for the government, i guess (i don't know that for sure).
@drash I've never heard him have a formal speech tell the truth. I've only heard him speak briefly against the horrible oppression the natives feel against the Mexico government. Not about how the inferstructure makes it difficult to moniter corporate exploitation, or how the EZLN would increase the standerd of living for the people of Chiapas, and NEVER how the EZLN would DIRECTLY make life better for the people. Ive only heard about the "horrible, opressive government of Mexico"
@GermanConquistador08 Have you read some of his publications? He makes some suggestions there, mostly by describing what they are going to do or what they did. But as the Movement progressed he focused more on supporting the projects.
@GermanConquistador08 How do political issues change if not by a revolution? The France Revolution and even the peaceful revolution in the German Democratic Republic changed a lot of things. That's true about the figurehead but we don't know how much influence the other commandants of the EZLN have. And Marcos doesn't even want to be the Symbol of that Revolution. Do you mean in Mexico or in general? Anyway i would say through a revolution the citizens can set up the system they want.
@drash Political issues change based on public opinon, but that doesnt make it right. The people in France wanted a republic, they didnt get that until over a hundred years later, they got dictator after dictator. Same even for the revolution in Mexico. Power always finds a place to rest its head, wheiter its with one person, or an entire congress. As for Marocs, since when I think of EZLN, I think of him, so he IS the symbol, wheiter he wants to be or not.
@GermanConquistador08 But if people are aware of issues and change their opinion the problem still exists and needs to be solved. How did the people in France finally get their democracy? But they set the ideological foundations during the revolution. Yes he's the Symbol but you don't know how he looks like and if you see a picture of him it could be anyone from the EZLN, so you have to focus more on the things he published or said during speeches.
@drash France become a democracy in the 1840s but ten years later, Napoleon III led a revolt and become emperor. You know, the same Emperor that invaded Mexico and established a REALLY horrible oppressive government. Then it become a democracy permenetly in 1870 when Germany invaded and won against France, Naploeon III went into exile and the people established a deomcracy. THe French revolution did NOTHING directly to create a democratic stateand the Enlightenment created the foundations.
@GermanConquistador08 (If i understood the question right) And you probably won't see an anarchist state ;) (even though i got your point and disagree but that's a whole different topic)
@drash I believe it was the Hatian dictator that once said, I dont wish to have my statues and pictures in the streets, but its what the people want. The EZLNs goal IS an anarchist state, of communes, with no central control. This type of government is always unstable and prone to despots, warlords, and no political stability, as China saw in the years before and during 1st half of the 1900s. But lets discuss. How will the EZLN make life better for the Indiginous population in Souther Mexico?
@GermanConquistador08 Yes but wat did the Haitian dictator say about his policies and his beliefs (i don't think they were democratic at all) ? The communes are part of their new system, but why are they always unstable etc.? Are there any other proofs than China? Well I'm not that deep into the topic but with the Caracoles the people get more power and therefore they probably get institutions they needed for a long time (e.g. schools and hospitals).
@GermanConquistador08 And the EZLN is going to help the women getting their rights. Another point is the environment because currently a lot of foreign companies are wasting the environment in southern Mexico without (much) benefit for the inhabitants. With a political system that is not that dependent on foreign companies you could stop them from wasting the environment. (There is no such thing as an anarchist state because anarchy implies the absence of such things like a state)
@drash Really? Ive never heard my family ever complain about womens rights in Mexico, and Ive heard them nit-pick about every issues in Mexico both over the phone and in person. Maybes again its a mostly indiginous problem, in which case I support the EZLN on that. Environmental problems are often exaggered in most nation since deforestation usually has replanting trees into the mix, which takes years for forest to rebuild. The US has the same "problem" and their forest land are increasing.
@GermanConquistador08 Ah, sorry i forgot to mention it mainly is a indigenous problem (from what I've read it's mainly described as a indigenous problem). I don't know how bad the situation with the environment exactly is but thinking about it is important i think.
@drash Its all alright. The companies were nationalized to keep corporate powers in check, and the only way to influence government companies is by corruption, and thats what people did, corrupt the government and its companies. And the people reduce government powers the same way you increase government powers in a democratic society carefully monitered by the international community by democratic means. It happened in Britian, Russia, and now is slowly happening in China even.
@drash Foriegn companies arent the real problem, although the leech I call the US has been on Mexicos side since the French intervention and before that even. *cough* Tejas. But the nationalized domestic companiea re even worse since it gives the corporates government power which they dont deserve. Corruption increases as the government gains more power. But government power can be reduced by democratic means, not just military or revolutionary means.
@GermanConquistador08 Well yes, that's even worse but the main problem are still companies that mostly think about themselves and not worry about the issues they are causing in the country. And how exactly are you going to reduce the government power if it has all the executive power? You mean by democratic means demonstrations or what exactly do you mean?
screw the damn inhumane, egocentrical, blind government...... THE LAND BELONGS TO THE ONE THAT WORKS IT.... VIVA LA REVOLUCION Y VIVA EL EJERCITO ZAPATISTA!!!!!
Begining May 5th and there after Cinco De Mayo, take a stand, boycott any business that hires these illegals, it may be home depot to a hamburger stand, if they are working at an establishment, take your dollars elsewhere. The time is now, spread the word. Ignore these Mexicans, let them know they are not wanted.
The time to take arms against them is coming near, soon it will be total war to preserve America
I really don't see how anyone at all can say anything bad about the Zapatistas, anyone who does has no idea what they are talking about, and is completely ignorant. The Zapatistas struggle IS just.
ok first of all that was a true ignorant statement ,that is the main reason why these ppl are rebelling against their government because the gov. does not give a shit about the ppl and some mexicans have no choice but to cross "illegally" to the U.S but they should get a clue that its getting crappy over here to. you can only blame the gov. for that
thanks to internatinal observers...whom took this film...bloodbaths made by mexican army have been stoped this way many times...thats why they don´t wan´t "foreign people" in the indigenous mexican zones
@eddysacat first of its not just indigenous but also peasants and poor people as well and second their revolting because they believe the Mexican government are neglecting them. this is all in the Mexican state of Chiapas and dispute its beauty, its the poorest state in Mexico.
@AJ627 I'm from Michoacan, and we're pretty much just as lost, except we get no media coverage. So we have no idea if we really are united across the state or not, or whether the narco crimes are limited to our local vicinity.

So you are saying that this behavior is acceptable and that is ok to trow dirt and rocks to Mexicans Soldiers that gave food and aid U.S. Citizens during IKE on Lousiana. No bro this shit is not appropiate. How would you like me to do the same shit in U.S soil and go in to a U.S. base and be like a fuking moron trying to get inside a base and trow rocks and dirt to a U.S. soldier. I probably get shoot with the new home land security law motherfucker. Fuck this primitive behavior.
this mexican soldiers came to the community..sorrounded the water source...this was not a soldier base..it was a base just monted in the midle of a zapatista community..wich is something by the way prohibited by the peace laws and agreements....that primitive invasive coward behavior..is the behavior of mexican goverment...and its soldiers
and its more of a moron..to blinbly obey the unjust rules of a non representative goberment..unless you are one of the few that gets the proffit of having millions on poverty..in that case you are not a moron...you are a son of a bitch...

Yeah but in the U.S.A. there are so many AKs bro everywhere you only have to transport them illegal to E.U.M (MEX). Trust me dude there are so many AKs in the U.S.A. and most of this weapons are from Texas, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, and California and without counting other states in the Union. Drugs for weapons and weapons for drugs. Just check the serial numbers if they have it on the guns all those guns trace back to the U.S.A.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
dude in Mexico at leas they have land in the U.S.A. Native Americans were treated like crap also so you forgot the trail of tears already with Geronimo and trying to expel the Anglos from their territory at Norther US. So no one is innocent not even U.S.A or E.U.M. same thing different type of European conquerors.
You should check the works and analissys made by antropologist, sociologist, historians, and other expert about the ancient history of abuse and explotation of white rich population, over indigenous people on that area...and the history of disidency in mexico...(and of course the history ofthe corrupted mob like political sistem)...
So you are saying that EPR, EZLN, Comannte Marcos, Zapatistas they all have money to buy AK47. They must be some rich motherfuckers. AK47 are at least minimum 500 to 800 American dollars. Yeah they must have tons of money to buy all those weapons or perhaps is because they exchange drugs for weapons. Ups Snap-- What happen they have money for guns but they can give that money to others to feed their children. Dam they must be some rich bastards.
thje guns in hands of zapatistas are o few...and have been bougth to army dealers (we know army is so corrupted that they sell guns) ..they even have some2nd ww rifles...our power is not fire power...its political power...we are millions of unarmed citicens building another mexicop rigth now rigth here...
Yeah and how you explain those AK 47 they hold on their hands. The got those Ak 47 by giving cocaine in exchange to gangs in the U.S.A. Drugs for weapons thats what the EPR, Zapatistas, EZLN, comandante Marcos and all those Narcs and Terrorist follow. The Mexican army is just trying to stop all those people from poisoning the streets of Mexico with more violence and drugs. By the Way The Mexican Army sent troops to Louisiana after the hurricane and giving food to U.S. citizens.
If there where any prove of that..mexivan goverment woul have claimed a war against "narco terrorist" (as in colombia) ...and could have smashed the communities long ago...militars are the ones that bring drugs and prostitution to communities
first of all AKs arent even american dumb fuck, and in different countries AKs are cheaper then a meal for a family and no Zapatista had NO WEAPON in this video what a fucking retard, and why the fuck did mexico sent troops to Louisiana? oh cus the US was killing other freedom fighters in the middle east and taking natural resources, left its own ppl at harm, and they call us the wealthiest country when we couldnt dig ourselves out of a natural disaster
EPR, Zapatistas, Comandante Marcos, Guerrillas, Narcs, Narco Terrorist, they all in the same game planting cocaine and distributing in the streets of the U.S.A and killing also innocents. I say the same with the gangs in the U.S.A a bunch of corrupted that only making this country a bad place to live in cities across U.S.A. I just have to say that if I see a gang member steeling my property or one of those terrorist I am going to shoot them with my American gun.
your generalizations only show your ignorance...guerrillas in mexico have nothing to do with narco..big enterprises, and goverment do. Corruption is the trademark of mexican political sistem...guerrillas have raised to change things..the category terrorism doesn´t apply to them..but it does to the criminal strategies of official forces. Being ignorant shouldn´t embarras you... refusing to learn...well thats diferent
If they are over run by a few zapatistas no wonder we can't hold it down against narcos.

GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
THe EZLN is a false hope for the natives. What they want to be free from the Mexican state under a socialist government. But they dont figure out is then what? Chiapas and the Yucatan doesnt have many resources, and taking away what little these people have, and making sure everyone has the same amount (Except a little more for Generalissimo Marcos of course) will only make them poorer. It would be horrible. The natives need to realized that more conflict will led to worse conditions for them.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 Generalisssimo Marcos, really? ... Did he ever try to get more than others? (how about giving some examples where he actually did that or is that just something you made up in your mind?)
drash 1 year ago
@drash I'd say thats impossible to tell isn't it? Its not like hes in he public eye and people know how well he lives, eats, etc. Look, Im not saying that he did or didnt, IM speaking from a historic point of view. In every rebellion like his, from Cuba, Russia, Venezuela, multiple African nations, Haiti, almost everytime a rebellion such as Marcos's happens, the leader of that rebellion lives in luxery. Im not saying Marcos is power hungry or greedy, but it happens to the best of men.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 Yes, your right we can't tell that at the moment. But from what I've learned so far about the EZLN is that it became so popular because the movement is different from most other revolutionary movements. They (The Guerrillas themselves) do a lot of things different than revolutionary movements before. For example they have a civilian Base, which they (the Guerrillas) listen to, so Marcos is not the one who has all the Power he's just part of it.
drash 1 year ago
@drash Hes the military commander, Subcomandate. While he might be absolute authoirty in the EZLN, neither does any other leader in history. And most revolution has a cviilian base. CUba, Russia, and China all did. The military was largely against each revolution in those three scenarios, it was civilian numbers with very good leadership.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 I think you're right about the other Revolutions and that these things can happen to leaders with best intentions but i also think you might want to take a closer look to this one and not confuse the part Marcos is playing here with the part Fidel played in the Cuban Revolution for example.
drash 1 year ago
@drash Also, Im not linking him to castro per see. However, for sake of arguement, lets say that another person would take leadership of his revolution. In all revolutions, after they end, a leader must emerge to take control, otherwise, there will just be civil war after that revolution, everytime it happens. Either a civil war would occur, which i highyl doubt, or a new leader would take power, and then the same arguement applies to him.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 It's not Marcos Revolution he's just part of the Movement and has a higher Position in the Guerrilla which is also just a part of the Zapatista Movement. They are not trying to get the complete Control over Mexico (in opposite to all Revolutions before) but they are already setting up a better System in Chiapas which is more fair and democratic. If Marcos wanted to take Control over the Country he would have fought over the past decade with Guns and not just with Words.
drash 1 year ago
@drash Velvet revolutions are still revolutions, regardless of a lack of actually attempted takeover. But regardless, I understand that hes not the leader and that he wants better life for Chiapas. However, doing that would mean cutting off ties TO the Mexican government, essentially making a new nation-state, meaning a new country, meaning someone has to lead this country because an anarchist state never is sustainable. Who would be the most likely leader if that happened? Marcos.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 And with civilian Base i meant not just helpers or a mass of mislead people i meant organized civilians that actually tell the Guerrillas what they want and if they want them to fight. Marcos may be an important Person but he's not leading this Revolution and that's the point I'm trying to make. The civilians (mostly with indigenous background) decide in the Juntas (Caracoles) where this movement is heading to and the EZLN itself is just there for security and protection.
drash 1 year ago
@drash The civilians want better living conditions, better standerd of living and a fairer government. Everyone around the world does, but organized revolution, doesnt cause either of these things, ever. Im not saying Marcos is the Directorate of the EZLN, Im saying, that he is the figurehead, the posterman of the EZLN and thats all it takes to become a true leader. Councils themselves have heads. Also, how is it that the citizens have mutally argeed on the type of government they want?
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 Of course it's a revolution and they want to change the political system and that means separating from the current Mexico but it's not bounded to Chiapas they're fighting for and with all Indigenas in Mexico. They are already separating from the Mexican government by setting up their own democratic system (look at the "good Government" and the Caracoles).
drash 1 year ago
@drash Yes, thats what a revolution seeks, and I understand its for "all" indigenous peoples but, theres more than just the Mayas, Tzeltal, etc. in Southern Mexico. In this state, would all native peoples be welcomed? What about Mestizos, which are the majority of the people in Mexico. What about the soldiers or policia that are Mestizos or even Indios? Do they fit as equals? THeres a lot of questions the EZLN needs to answer if they want a state and not multiple communes.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 As far as i understand the movement no one is being stopped from joining because of his origin. Soldiers and people from the Policia may join if they stop working for the government, i guess (i don't know that for sure).
drash 1 year ago
@drash I've never heard him have a formal speech tell the truth. I've only heard him speak briefly against the horrible oppression the natives feel against the Mexico government. Not about how the inferstructure makes it difficult to moniter corporate exploitation, or how the EZLN would increase the standerd of living for the people of Chiapas, and NEVER how the EZLN would DIRECTLY make life better for the people. Ive only heard about the "horrible, opressive government of Mexico"
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 Have you read some of his publications? He makes some suggestions there, mostly by describing what they are going to do or what they did. But as the Movement progressed he focused more on supporting the projects.
drash 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 How do political issues change if not by a revolution? The France Revolution and even the peaceful revolution in the German Democratic Republic changed a lot of things. That's true about the figurehead but we don't know how much influence the other commandants of the EZLN have. And Marcos doesn't even want to be the Symbol of that Revolution. Do you mean in Mexico or in general? Anyway i would say through a revolution the citizens can set up the system they want.
drash 1 year ago
@drash Political issues change based on public opinon, but that doesnt make it right. The people in France wanted a republic, they didnt get that until over a hundred years later, they got dictator after dictator. Same even for the revolution in Mexico. Power always finds a place to rest its head, wheiter its with one person, or an entire congress. As for Marocs, since when I think of EZLN, I think of him, so he IS the symbol, wheiter he wants to be or not.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 But if people are aware of issues and change their opinion the problem still exists and needs to be solved. How did the people in France finally get their democracy? But they set the ideological foundations during the revolution. Yes he's the Symbol but you don't know how he looks like and if you see a picture of him it could be anyone from the EZLN, so you have to focus more on the things he published or said during speeches.
drash 1 year ago
@drash France become a democracy in the 1840s but ten years later, Napoleon III led a revolt and become emperor. You know, the same Emperor that invaded Mexico and established a REALLY horrible oppressive government. Then it become a democracy permenetly in 1870 when Germany invaded and won against France, Naploeon III went into exile and the people established a deomcracy. THe French revolution did NOTHING directly to create a democratic stateand the Enlightenment created the foundations.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 AH, okay, thanks i didn't really learn that much about french history.
drash 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 (If i understood the question right) And you probably won't see an anarchist state ;) (even though i got your point and disagree but that's a whole different topic)
drash 1 year ago
@drash I believe it was the Hatian dictator that once said, I dont wish to have my statues and pictures in the streets, but its what the people want. The EZLNs goal IS an anarchist state, of communes, with no central control. This type of government is always unstable and prone to despots, warlords, and no political stability, as China saw in the years before and during 1st half of the 1900s. But lets discuss. How will the EZLN make life better for the Indiginous population in Souther Mexico?
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 Yes but wat did the Haitian dictator say about his policies and his beliefs (i don't think they were democratic at all) ? The communes are part of their new system, but why are they always unstable etc.? Are there any other proofs than China? Well I'm not that deep into the topic but with the Caracoles the people get more power and therefore they probably get institutions they needed for a long time (e.g. schools and hospitals).
drash 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 And the EZLN is going to help the women getting their rights. Another point is the environment because currently a lot of foreign companies are wasting the environment in southern Mexico without (much) benefit for the inhabitants. With a political system that is not that dependent on foreign companies you could stop them from wasting the environment. (There is no such thing as an anarchist state because anarchy implies the absence of such things like a state)
drash 1 year ago
@drash Really? Ive never heard my family ever complain about womens rights in Mexico, and Ive heard them nit-pick about every issues in Mexico both over the phone and in person. Maybes again its a mostly indiginous problem, in which case I support the EZLN on that. Environmental problems are often exaggered in most nation since deforestation usually has replanting trees into the mix, which takes years for forest to rebuild. The US has the same "problem" and their forest land are increasing.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 Ah, sorry i forgot to mention it mainly is a indigenous problem (from what I've read it's mainly described as a indigenous problem). I don't know how bad the situation with the environment exactly is but thinking about it is important i think.
drash 1 year ago
@drash Its all alright. The companies were nationalized to keep corporate powers in check, and the only way to influence government companies is by corruption, and thats what people did, corrupt the government and its companies. And the people reduce government powers the same way you increase government powers in a democratic society carefully monitered by the international community by democratic means. It happened in Britian, Russia, and now is slowly happening in China even.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@drash Foriegn companies arent the real problem, although the leech I call the US has been on Mexicos side since the French intervention and before that even. *cough* Tejas. But the nationalized domestic companiea re even worse since it gives the corporates government power which they dont deserve. Corruption increases as the government gains more power. But government power can be reduced by democratic means, not just military or revolutionary means.
GermanConquistador08 1 year ago
@GermanConquistador08 Well yes, that's even worse but the main problem are still companies that mostly think about themselves and not worry about the issues they are causing in the country. And how exactly are you going to reduce the government power if it has all the executive power? You mean by democratic means demonstrations or what exactly do you mean?

Drugs for weapons thats what the EPR, Zapatistas, EZLN, comandante Marcos and all those Narcs and Terrorist follow. The Mexican army is just trying to stop all those people from poisoning the streets of Mexico with more violence and drugs.
