Just got done watching the series. Its what Eureka Seven is based off of. This and robotech. Good series. Like all shows back in the day, they were subject to early cancellations so this once ended quickly. =(
When he sang "Do you remember..." he meant that shit!!! I wish I was the bass player on this recording! This has always been one of my favorite theme songs!
Personally, I find Genesis Climber Mospeada portion of Robotech to be the most interesting. I've watched it over and over many times. Still, I'm curious as to weather there is an english dubbed version so I can have a good understanding of what the original story was about.
@Afrocanuk Yes there is a Japanese version with subtitles, which is the only way to watch it in the original language. As far as I am aware the only way to get it was on vhs where they have two episodes of the original Japanese version with subtitles and then the English dubbed "Robotech" version. There are minimal differences to the storyline though, replace Protoculture with "HBT", replace masters with something else, I forget, and replace Scott Bernardwith "Stick Bernard" and Rook with Fuke.
Thing I love about japan's version is that it can seem like you're watching a different series when compared to Robotech New Generation thanks to not only the script but also entirely different music scores
I own this whole series on DVD. The first episode is awesome, but then it drags a bit in subsequent episodes. It does get pretty interesting in the last ten episodes though and the mecha designs are prety cool.

in japan it is a different series. Macrosss, southerncross, and mospeada are unrelated by any means other than similar art style and mecha.
