he's got that awesome acting ability that's so realistic.
Often, these monsters in history weren't all big and bad and serious all the time as they're often portrayed.
They had this jeer, this smiley persona, doubled with this dangerous edge at the same time.. which made them all the more malicious and haunting to be around.
@majesticmaniac entitled to say what u think but i loved alot more than just him but he was the best thing about it. I take it u thought everything else was terrible
Genius video with the song background (my how I love the Rolling Stones). I knew that CW won the academy award but didn't realize until this video how charasmatic and consuming his portrayal was. A little late to the party, but I'm renting this movie thanks to this video.
Best villain ever. That one scene were he meets the girl in the cafe is pure amazing acting. You don't know if he knows or her or doesn't... When he asks for the cream is simply breathtaking...
Damn Good Detective? I don't think so; He's no Adrian Monk(Thank God for that!). But, when he solves a whole homicide case(maybe more) just because of an infinitesimal detail that no one else could have pointed out then I shall stand corrected.
"There's a special rung in hell for people who waste good scotch like this, and seeing as I may be rapping on the door momentarily.... I must say, damn good stuff sir."
I loved this character from the moment the movie started, something about a charming, well mannered evil person with a face that fits the character perfect. Love this movie!
@MissH221 oh ya i knew that it was Sympathy for the Devil but i guess i forgot to type that in my comment. but i didnt know about the Neptunes remix part
Well, he isn't quite a villian, i'm a jew and i (reall) like his character, it seems kinda like they force him to do what he does, and he preternds it doesn't bothers him, after all, he helped with operation kino, sort of..
@the2009guy he didnt help with operation kino because he liked the americans, he did it because he knew hitler was going to lose the war, so he joined the americans to save his ass.
@yonisdiriye123 It doesn't why he helped, he seemed (to me) he didn't wanna kill jews and be a part in this war, also it seemed most of the german soldiers didn't want to be a part of this war and Hitler forced them. he only acted like his job during the war doesn't bothers him. that's, at least, what i think.
@evilemperordude You're kidding...right? Go watch some interviews of him on different shows. He is fluent in 3 languages and is extremely intelligent. He also seems very genuine and kind. I just can't tell if you are trolling or not.
@killerrey He didn't lose to Twilight, he lost to Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy from Harry Potter. Still, a shame no doubt but MTV awards are bullshit anyway. Christoph Waltz was flawless in this film. Landa was just the perfect asshole. I hate this guy's guts. When a villain is such an ass that you love to hate him, that shows how awesome the character is.
@killerrey If you are taqlking about the MTV Movie Awards those are based on the votes of the audience. And since most of the audience of MTV are adolescent girls, then it's hard for a masterpiece to win. Girls don't understand this type of movies. But never compare MTV with the GOlden Globes or Oscars.
MY GOD!!!! HE is the reason why i wish this film would NEVEREVER NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EEEEEND!!!! please make him a statue in 2000 m-scale so the ETs just see and know that WE have CHRISTOPH WALTZ before trying to attack us!!one of the few really great actors of our time!
Great video. I just realized something. at 0:28, Waltz is doing an almost spot on Sean Connery - James Bond pose after lighting is cigarette. Not sure if its intentional or not. Landa. Hans Landa.
Nice use of fade in/outs and great syncing. The voice track could have used a few decibels because of their whispering in my opinion . Not trying to be an asshole, just trying to offer something useful to you amidst this horrid, flaming mess. 5/5 hypothetical stars overall for you though.
The Jew Hunter and The Joker........haha very different. My two favorite villains ever though(: They both have all the characteristics of a fantastic villain...............@phemyda94 I agree (:

I take my hat off to you! This was very well cut with an interesting choice of music. I'm a fan of the actor and he's worth a good tribute, which you've provided.
Actually, the music does fit. The upbeat style goes well with his eccentric nature, not the mention, Hans Landa is considered to be a charming devil hence the song "Sympathy for the devil".
Waltz was the personification of evil as perpetrated by the Nazi. Insofar as Waltz was the charming and psychopathic Nazi, the SS man who politely slit your throat while whistling Dixie , I found him alarmingly repulsive and abhorrent. Psychopaths, generally, prosper during times of war.
i think Landa was based on real life Nazi Reinhard Heydrich(a SD man like Landa) also known as the The Blond Beast" by his enemies both Jewish and non Jewish...the Landa character even mentions Heydrich(in the jew hunter scene) when talking about Heydrich's other nick name :The Hangman"
Absolutely loved his performance. Good clip as well :)

i think Landa was based on real life Nazi Reinhard Heydrich(a SD man like Landa) also known as the The Blond Beast" by his enemies both Jewish and non Jewish...the Landa character even mentions Heydrich(in the jew hunter scene) when talking about Heydrich's other nick name :The Hangman"
