I agree that they need to defend the option better. They gave up some big gains on the corners. I think they can beat SC in two weeks if their secondary performs well, and if they do win, I believe they could carry their momentum to win the rest with Stanford included and go to the BCS!
From what I saw the only reason AF even gained anything on those corner options was due to the fact that was literally all they COULD do. AF couldn't get anything up the middle and AF was lucky our secondary was committed to the run game, that was the only reason they had those few pass plays for big chunks of yardage. Yes ND needs to improve its option defense but it was much better than the Navy debacle last year and I do not think Navy will be an issue this year.
I can't tell you the play of the game B/C there were so many, but the play THAT CHANGED THE GAME, IMHO, was AF trying an onside kick after scoring their first TD. I remember watching the game with my dad, and we were going, WHA? Like, they're had 3 QUARTERS to try that shit on us and they did it IN THE FIRST QUARTER? ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME??? Quite frankly, this very easily could've gone in the opposite direction if it wasn't for AF shooting it itself in the foot. Plain and simple.
