  • Exlotus you can go fuck yourself you dum bunt ford wins hands down all the way atleast in their trucks

  • ah!! u poor inbred rednecks... you actually believe this fake ass commercial. so biased and skewed to make this crappy v6 look good. just after the dyno test, there should of been some type of damage done to it.. and the rapid temp. changes should of warped the shit out of it. and what turbo engine last 100k miles with out giving out. ford can lick my balls.

  • @ExLotus12 It's 2012 if a turbo on a passenger vehicle didn't last that long then they wouldn't sell it. I got a buddy that has a Ecoboost in his F150 he already put 50k on it in less then a year, I'm gonna be getting on this year, this engine is a fucking beast

  • dam ford you have done it again. this is why i stand by ford bc they put there money where there mouth is. i love how u prove to every one that ford is the best selling truck for 35 years straight. GM and dodge couldent do this to there trucks bc they wouldent make it lol hahahaha

  • I want to see and Eco-Boost Mustang next...

  • If I was in the market for a new truck this would be the one i'd get, unfortunatly the funds aren't quite there yet lol what a grueling test.

  • no convetional oil on engine all mobile one come on ford

  • Absolutely love our Flex EcoBoost! The EcoBoost just continues to impress and amaze me!! The Flex has shocked quite a few people!

  • viewing this i've understood even more why i'd love to work as an engineer at Ford..

  • @jackass00world well keep pu the good work and not for fans but to annoy gm brick heads fans

  • the block is new!!! FOREVER FORD

  • Ford should put it in a lighter, better looking, version of the AWD Fusion and add a little power. Ford could go after the GTR with a rugged engine like that!

  • @AshtonCoolman Forget that, new Ford GT!

  • In 448AA We Trust.

  • My dad has an Ecoboost and im glad he does :)

  • they should have done a torture test on the 7.3L. they just couldnt talk about fuel consumption

  • If the Ecoboost is so great, why don't they let you select it for the Raptor?

  • @KanSirKing 2012 options.

  • The 448AA should be placed at the museum.

  • @22dimethylhexane such an engine does not deserve to slumber in a museum ;)

  • Ford rocks!

  • FORD is so impressive, real talk, awesome company that makes awesome vehicles. No question in my mind why they are #1. And so financially solid. They under-rate their vehicles so much, every other company over-rates. Even in the muscle car era! The termi cobras dyno stock at almost 100hp over what the brochure says!!! Like 3 out of 5 cars i see on the road today are rocking the blue oval, its awesome! Theres a reason carroll picked 'em! Long live the best auto manufacturer in the world!

  • @BagpipekilR didn't the old shelby GT500 witch was supposed to have 500hp but actually had allot less

i used to love ford but since they killed off their only full size V8 RWD sedan besides the mustang everything else is just not appealing anymore

so go dodge charger and chevy caprice!

  • @1234fllf Than you have not driven the Taurus SHO, I own a 2011 and much funner to drive than a crappy ole Crown Vic which it replaced.

  • what kind of motor oil was used?

  • @lanier2k5 motorcraft 5w30 is used on the ecoboost

  • its in the explorer now too, except i don't think it has the turbos because the 0-60 is like 9 seconds (motortrend tested)

  • @skidoomxz550x The "ecoboost" used in the Explorer is of the 2.0L variant, only 4 cylinders, and thus much less power (240 hp)

  • I wanna know what oil they use.. lol. Gotta get some ASAP.

  • and they put that on a taurus? I gotta get one!!

  • Damn I wanted to see it blow... Lol Nice engine!

  • why is this 360p? Isn't it 2011?

  • @lifehackertips who cares what its in, troll

  • I think they should have put the engine back together and run it for another 150k miles just to really put it to dodge and chevy....

  • Possibly the best truck engine ever

  • this motor is GREAT my buddy has a ecoboost f150 and it rides smooth and has very good low end torque but they simulated a lot of the sound this engine not to be flaming or anything sounds like crap at high rpms but it has a nice turbo whistle at low rpms and very quiet motor overall

  • Best selling truck for 33 years, and theres a reason for that.

  • ford always had the best engine but ther bodys are no good bet you anything wen the f150 came back from hauling logs it rusted out its rocker panels nice truck do

  • @matthebest018 In any video, there will always be something they don't show you, but I think Ford hit it out of the ballpark with this engine. Don't even look at Chrysler and GM, my buddy's Denali (2007) breaks down every month, and my personal 04 Pacifica's rooflining is held by glue and velcro, which has melted, so my roof lining is sagging and flaps when we open the moonroof. I've never had any issues with my 03 Town Car with almost half a million miles on it...just oil, brakes, & tires

  • I'm not surprised. The 4.6L Modular 2V V8 in my dad's 2003 Lincoln Town Car has over 430,000 miles on it (limo car) and it's still running strong. All the lights on the dash are off, and the only thing that's wrong is that the A/C compressor makes a bit of noise (countless thousands of hours of continuous use). The thing still gets 18 MPG with us!! **knock on wood**

  • @1964mm those 4.6s in the crown vics or town cars will last forever because they were designed to be put in fleet vehicles like cop cars and taxis, how many new orders do you think ford would get if their 4.6 engines kept breaking down? There's a reason many police dept are still buying new vics, rather than more efficient chargers or impalas.

  • @lifehackertips Those engines are tanks, if treated properly. There's a reason why my dad's 4.6 is going on half a million miles and the one in my uncle's 1997 Town Car Signature only lasted about 150,000 (he slacked on oil & oil changes). My dad is strict on Mobil 1 every 6,000 miles for both our cars. Just goes to show how much the type of oil and timely changes can do to protect your engine. He also runs a can of BG 44K through a tank with premium fuel after every oil change.

  • @AdrianCto96 false advertising and also if that were true blog web site would tear this thing apart if they were lying

  • That's cool

  • it's a shame we can't have a pick-up like this in the european country's in the ford dealership's. I have always dream of a car like that. Just to ride in one would be a dream come true.

  • Here's my question, what happens to that particular engine, do they put it on display or what?

  • Really hope ford come up with a soot solution on the valves of direct inhection.

  • They did film a 7th test in which they all let their wives drive it for a week but it finally seized up and caught fire so they decided to act like they where just done testing it with this teardown.

  • @mickblock that's a good idea, they need a wife test.

  • I'm view # 100,000.

  • @gwendolyn899 i agree, I am also curious to see what their maintenance schedule was like ... I can almost garuntee that synthetic oils were used just to help cope with the extreme temperatures generated in the turbo. I would also like to know what grade of fuel was being run (87/89/91 etc.)

  • @VikingWarrior98 given that almost all modern engines are recommended to run synthetic in the first place, I don't see how this matters to anyone but a cheapskate who won't spend the extra money to keep their vehicle in operation. Fuel I would agree with wanting to know, however. FYI, I BELIEVE Ford recommends a 3K mile oil change for heavy-duty usage/extreme environment conditions, 5K for normal. At least for my Grand Marquis, it says that in the manual.

  • what was it's maintenance schedule? type oil ? air cleaner? fuel filter? etc.

  • too bad the electronics will break after 2 weeks

  • 2010 prior you wouldnt find me dead in one of their trucks but god dam... they got this shit right now!

  • @bmxguy08 u ever heard of the inline 6? the bullet proof motor? yea they have had it right for a long time bud.

  • @RFL92b I know for a fact that Jeep's 4.0 I6 was a tank, it would probably take a week of redlining to bring one of those things down.

  • @1964mm very true, when they where doin that cash for clunkers stuff they would put liquid glass in the motors to destroy them, and the inlines in the fords and jeeps took over twice as long to kill than what was sposed to take, cant beatm

  • Comment removed

  • So, what does it take to break one of these things?

  • 8 duramax diesels broke at 13,000 miles

  • I will but this engine over anything out there today! I just wish ford had something smaller than an F150 and but bigger than a Ranger :P

  • until it actually runs 150k miles, then runs these tests, i wont believe it. simulation is just that... simulation. its not actual, its not real. anyone can make a youtube video saying "hey this motor has 300k simulated miles on it, and the oil pressure is good and it puts out good HP and TQ... buy this 1992 buick lesabre!!!" 150k miles "simulated"?... no. let the motor experience the EVERY DAY stop and go and high and low temps and 3k mile oil changes. dont accelerate the results based on tests

  • @ilovegoatsecks The had this motor running pretty much nonstop for I think it was just over a month or so. It wasn't just idling either, It was both high rpms and low and at full throttle. I think that is pretty much the equivalent of "real".

  • There is only one test left. Will it blend?

  • Yes...Im a Ford salesperson...However I am a realist and can find good and bad in all product. Even mine

I got my Ecoboost...personal truck...2 weeks ago. I just hit 900 miles. My mpg is over 20,9. I had my foot in the turbos quite a bit. Passing on 2 lanes...is awesome.

If you have brand loyalty to others...fine...but ...Drive an ecoboost before you buy. Tell me that Ford hasnt hit this out of the park.

I have driven the Hemi...I have driven all GM powerplants...

    They cant compete with ECO

  • @Schmitfordmercury are there any negatives about the truck in your "expert" opinion?

  • @CmanCorporations

I am not the expert you were looking to talk to, but I can say from experience that these f150 ecoboosts do not do well in the winter. They are hard to get moving on ice. On snow-packed mountain roads once that turbo winds up you break your wheels loose (even in 4x4). You can drive em in the winter but you will be driving them slower than the V8//Diesel trucks. Other than that these are lovely vehicles. They need a mtx version.

  • @ZOMGZOMGstairs so are u saying the engines have so much torque they break the tires lose when you use them? but the other typical engines dont have this problem cause they dont have as much torque?

  • @Schmitfordmercury

I traded my 2011 Challenger 392 for a f150 ecoboost and it is awesome.. and I have driven quite a few cars and trucks perhaps in the past few 5 years over 10 cars and this truck and it's power is impressive... its not a super duty power and torque but it never was designed to be better or compete in the diesel market.. try before you buy.. made a believer out of me. :)

  • i want one

  • im a chevy guy, but they got this engine right,

  • @sweetaction69 Odd enough, that's all I own too. I've been a loyal GM fan for years, but Ford hit the nail on the head! I WOULD buy a EcoBoost tomporrow, if I could afford one...

  • @sweetaction69 chevy guy to an yea that engine is bulletproof. hope all that testing was true an not just advertising

  • @swatsticker

ageed. I just wonder if they did any fluid changes.. and how often. I am neutral with "who is better" but I would consider myself a GM guy

I am very impressed with this engine. Ford is finally on the right track!

  • 8 chevy owners' pride has been deeply hurt.

  • personally, I think this is a good inovation. but,,,, I wouldn't by a truck without a V8. V6 in a pickup that big would make me feel embarrassed. Ill give it full props if they do make a V8 ecoboost engine. V6,,, nah!

  • Our current level of technology has reached very high levels of durability and effeciency. All I read here is a bunch of people arguing about wether it is a Ford, a Chevy or Dodge. The mistakes that vehicle manufacturers have made in the past, and all of them have, makes no real difference. Dodge used to be a drag race dominator, Chevy produced huge HP vehicles that the steet couldn't contain, Ford can never be touched with the Cobra. But Dodge and GM are blowing it now. 2 Thumbs up to FORD,

  • Come on guys, quit bickering! It's an American made vehicle, you should happy. I am. I don't care if a vehicle is a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge as long as WE are making it. This technology is not a new thing, why is it taking so long for OUR vehicle manufacturers to get with the progam? Buick made the GNX, turbo 3.8L that ran circles around everything else on the road, but the blithering idiots in corporate shut it down. Ford has now picked it up and I hope the run a touchdown with it.

  • retards ford just proved that the engine was better than competitors seriously lets see Chevy Dodge GM and all the other vehicle companies do that test

  • just wondering @fordtrucks what oil did you run in that engine ?

  • so Ford listened?

  • Does it bother anyone else that ford Finaly catches up with its competition and now the company and all the ford guys talk crap and completely forget the fact that they were lagging behind for years

  • @Orlando14407 Yeah lagging behind for years... Ford has had the best selling truck for over 40 years how is that lagging? also Ford has always made better cars thats part of the reason that they didn't go under and beg for money from the government...

  • @Kolby72 The only reason the F series is the best selling truck is because its cheap and they fall apart so quickly that you have to keep buying new ones. Im not against american cars, i know they have there strong points but Fords deffinately dont sell well because of there quality. And they didnt take money from the government because they were smart enough to cut there losses, sell there assest and keep there company out of bankrupcy.

  • @Orlando14407 So let me get this straight... Ford only sells so many F-150's because they suck?.... Now lets apply a bit of logic here the average person doesn't say o man that truck I bought really sucked I think I will go buy another one. Ford sells So many F-150's because they are the longest lasting most dependable truck s on the road (when you take care of them just like anything else). You know that what I am saying is true you just dont want to be wrong.. I am cool with that...

  • @Kolby72 I dont think ford sucks, they deffinately have there strong points and i do see why people buy them, they are cheap, effective and will do what you want them to do. My family has always owned fords and i have grown up driving them. They are not bad vehicles, but quality is deffinately not there strong point. If you stopped learning everything you know about cars from google and internet review sites and actualy looked at the vehicles around you you would probably realize that.

  • @Orlando14407 I would say you should stop learning everything you know about cars from google and you tube but it is very apparent form your last comment that you dont learn much of anything......

  • @Kolby72 lol thats why you're the one who cant think of an intelligent rebutle.

  • @Orlando14407 See above...

  • @Kolby72 I said an INTELLIGENT rebutle, not a bunch of brand loyal fanboy bull crap.

  • @Orlando14407 Thats funny you said that because I looked at your page and I looked at all of your comments and they are allmost all about ford bashing. But I also saw your age and I realize your still young... run along now and play nice wiht everyone else

  • @Kolby72 I dont know exactly what your reading but ive only posted a few comments and a couple where about ford, and some about a corvette. And second if you read my other comment you would see i have nothing against the brand, i just get sick of ford people constanty bragging about crap thats nothing special. And about my age i dont care if you think im immature for trying to convey my opinion, I know my points were valid and that we should stop this idiotic argument about whos OPINION is better

  • @Orlando14407 Sounds good to me let's agree to disagree lol

  • @Kolby72 Sounds good. BTW I think we just made youtube history by ending an argument in a mature and reasonable manner.

  • i think car manufacturers took to long to build an engine like this, forced induction is the way to go, i really need a truck like with that engine

  • Im a diesel guy but this whole test was BADASS.

  • Makes me want to go buy a truck

  • that engine still looks very clean even after all those gruesome tests....very amazing

  • @TUFFGUYS1 amazing? I have to agree. yes. but wouldnt you want a V8 other than a V6? If they make an EcoBoost that is a V8, ill definitely give it full props. I mean, there is still room to innovate to achieve fuel economy in the process.

  • I never thought that I would want a truck in a V6 haha! Now I do!!

  • This is a pretty impressive engine and I'm a Dodge kind of a guy. Its really not that impressive though you know they probably did maintenance like crazy and replaced parts. Theres no way that engine ran like that without one thing failing its impossible even for a diesel

  • you see now thats what you dodge and chevy guys just don't understand you just can't face the truth just to know that your piece a shit companys can't even show potencial to fords!:)

  • @kev66685 Haha yea ford and toyota are really the only ones that show there truck actually doing stuff, But you know this really ain't that impressive lol they were pulling trees something a ford model t could do for christ sakes lol

  • ok look im a chevy fan i have a 96 k1500 with 265000 on the clock. i have driven new dodge and chevy. the dyno dotn really believe, to many things can be hidden. the 24 hr lap testing i can really believe that dodge nor chevy could pull that off with out engine problems. wait the reason why is the turbo's just like a deisel engine they can be alot more efficient than a na motor. like i said im a chevy guy but dont think a na dodge or chevy could with out over heating. just op

  • Ford reset the baseline. If obama was really the messiah then GM would be able to do the same with test a Geo Metro engine.

  • You may all thing just because the engine was ran on a dyno that it hasnt been pulled by a truck, although this is true, that is the life test of a ford engine, this is very good for a ford engine think about it, wouldnt you change your pieces in a american or japenese car? i think so, So what you need to remember is, this is the fu,l turture test of a ford engine

  • You may all thing just because the engine was ran on a dyno that it hasnt been pulled by a truck, although this is true, that is the life test of a ford engine

  • @mrhappycheeze878 I don't THING you know what you're talking about. Dig a hole back to your homeland.

  • Now all Ford needs to do is make it an affordable Crate motor. I would love to put one of these in my 67' Bronco and drive it daily!!

  • @davedonedis buy a 351 Windsor or Cleavland

  • encrypted = deal breaker. I'll pay the extra money (Saved on purchase price) to supercharge a Hemi and trounce that ecoboost. BUT - the ecoboost does really well in the mpg department. Can't knock that.

  • I would like to know if the water pump was replaced at all during the testing.

  • @Abercrombie7131

I was there -- the water pump was not replaced. No parts were replaced at all. Only the oil was changed. I don't know if everyone realizes how gutsy Ford was to agree to this campaign. I can honestly say, that is one tough engine. It was all real.

  • Wow and people are still so skeptical. There's a reason F-120's been the #1 selling truck for 30+ years.

  • @BobDingle25 F-150. boob

  • @TheKJamProductions It was dark I couldn't see... And I was using my other hand to jerk off.

  • @BobDingle25 F-120?raw anus

  • @BobDingle25

    FUCK YEA!

And I heard the f-150s are even better lol........

  • @jpskaterman Haha yeah they got the extra 30 in em.

  • @BobDingle25 F150. :P

  • @Magnuspire Haha forgot to tag the extra 30 on there.

  • @BobDingle25 yeah, I was just thinking, "14 thumbs up and no one caught it yet?"

  • @Magnuspire Maybe people thumbs up'd cause they think I'm an idiot haha.

  • @BobDingle25 Doubt it, they just didn't want to be that one jerk that tells you. :P haha

  • @BobDingle25 It's because it 's alot cheaper than the compition and so fleet owners and countys etc buy them. it's not because their good.

  • @BobDingle25 Chevy and GMC combined out sells Ford. But still this is the King of trucks, and this is what a Chevy man is saying.

  • @GmTruckCarLove actualy Ford is outselling GM and Chevy combined

  • @FordNissanChevy Ford is outselling Dodge, GMC, and Chevy combined. Ford owns 52% of the truck market.

  • @FordNissanChevy, gm and chevy are the same thing.. just different names, gm just throws out different designs, if they are a hit they use it on chevrolet products.

  • @BobDingle25 F-120? Serious....

  • @BobDingle25 I didnt know the F-120 was the best selling truck for 30+ years. I thought it was the F-150?!?

  • @usa3990 You better believe it buddy!

  • @usa3990 lol you know what he meant

  • @Detroitisbest yeah but it wouldnt be any fun if I didnt give him some shit for it :P

  • @BobDingle25 f-120? fail

  • Did not ask him those questions. Sorry.

  • were their any parts replaced during the engines use?

  • visit community forums at ecoboostfseries . com

  • Whoops. Bad english in my post.

  • @cooler9179 their primary point was to kill any doubt that a turbo motor would not be durable. The rest of the truck is the same old ford, but the motor technology is entirely new for a truck.

  • All right, so the motor survived to spec. Can we see how you did it? What were the oil change intervals, the types of oil used, and most importantly show us the oil analysis sheets. Anybody who goes to these lengths to prove a point is going to do their due diligence. If I want to buy one, then I want to know exactly how you pulled it off, and I can't do that unless I have ALL the info. So, to paraphrase Paul Harvey: Let's see the REST of the story.

  • @pixel288 valid point, ford should make this data available. unless they are trying to cover up that they did oil changes every 500 miles ;)

  • @pixel288 I was actually there and asked a engineer personally. He said the oil was changed at normal recommended interval in the owners manual which was 10,000 miles.

  • @SuperSportSS That is good to know. But the rest of my questions still stand. What types of oils were used, and what did the analysis sheets say at each change.

  • Excellent. Now then, can we see the oil change intervals, the types of oil used and most importantly the oil analysis sheets. Don't tell us that you weren't watching those parameters like hawks. Anybody who is going to go to these lengths to prove a point will be doing their homework. The story doesn't end here. Lets see the rest of the story.

  • @cooler9179 they ran that engine in multiple ford trucks and clocked those miles during real world abuse. Check out the rest of the videos and do your research before posting.

  • @wantapgt I did watch the other videos, all of them in fact. What I'm saying is on the extreme dyno testing, the engine just ran itself, it wasn't actually in a truck, pulling the weight on anything except for itself. How is that true testing of an engine when for 150,000 miles ON THE DYNO, the engine isn't even pulling a truck? And yes, they did run the engine in multiple Ford trucks, which is the point. What about the rest of the drivetrain on one WHOLE Ford truck after some serious testing?

  • @cooler9179 the crankshaft is attached to a hydraulic brake on the dyno to simulate engine stress and wear. I would assume that ford would do their best to calibrate the amount of load to mirror those of real operational loads. They also super cooled and heated the engine periodically.

  • I have a 92 ranger has 267k and its a 4.0L and it runs find like brand new

  • This whole test was incredibly misleading. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad and impressed at Ford's testing here for their new ecoboost engine, but what did they test? Just a V6 engine on a dyno for over 150,000 miles at extreme temperatures, just towing itself on the dyno. It wasn't even pulling the weight of a truck while they were testing it! Speaking of which, what about the rest of the truck? Test the WHOLE Ford truck for over 150,000 miles and then we'll really see the durability of Ford.

  • @cooler9179 you realize the dyno has resistance on the engine, it has a hydraulic braking system to show how it would do pulling a load.

  • AMERICAN BUILT still running PERFECT after 160,000 miles after they beat the crap out of it! AMAZING!!! GO FORD!

  • Ford makes the absolute best half-ton truck, PERIOD.

  • There are absolutely no excuses whatsoever NOT to buy an F-150 now. These new engines have made an excellent truck into an extraordinary truck, PERIOD.

  • @thegreatcb7 Miles. not KM. it's up to 335,000 now - I just went on two roadtrips, towing both times.

  • They must have used Mobile 1

  • @allclassics

Mobile 1 haha thats funny you must not be much of mechanic then mobil one sucks ass lol thats funny

  • @dtech93

Porsche, BMW, Corvette, Cadillac, Mercedes,Nissan GT-R and McLaren all come factory filled with Mobil 1 and disagree with you. But what would they know?

  • Awesome!

  • Ford got a bailout, but it was a private one. In addition, they sold the whole company to stay in business.

  • @aesmith1112...First of all they took a mortage out on there company... They did not sell shit. Chevy and Dodge went DOWN! and Now Ford is one of the most respected companys because they know what the people want and how to deliever...Get ur dam facts straight you sound like a piece of trash.. Companys can mortage anytime...and their is no such thing as a private bailout. So just shut ur mouth and contiune to drive your GOVERMENT owner Chevy and Dodge... Have a Nice day! :)

  • This vid wasnt as profound as I hoped. I took the Eco Boost challenge. Ford brought one to my house to drive. It was quick and torquey. It's only fault was the sound or lack of sound. I think I want the 5.0 or 6.2 for that old fashioned V8 roar. For guys or gals who like quiet it is great I guess just not for me.

  • BUILT FORD TOUGH

  • @specialformula14 that engine is randomly off the assembly line

  • this engine has 150 miles on a dyno.. the rest was of actual drive wear..

plus if u build a engine to be tested its going to be balanced and set up perfect..

u wont get the same quality off the line asembly bought...

  • @specialformula14 first of all it has 150,000 miles on the dyno at full throttle/full boost... switching from -20to 220 degrees farenheit non stop... secondly.. this motor wasn't built for testing.. It was randomly picked off of the assembly line. Watch the first episode... This truck is hands-down impressive!
