  • Love my 2010 special edition. gearing is tall though as1st gear will touch 100mph at the redline so you beverages really get the chance to rev it the engine through the gears

  • You crotch rocket guys are some crazy MoFos! That was great, I am happy to go 75 or 80 mph. I drive a whale Roadstar but ilike it it's like driving a really big Buick!

  • Safest way to have fun. The guys on the road that do this stuff with cars etc, are just begging to die. Live long...you are brave.

  • Why do bikers insist on having a pot of wee on their handlebars.?

  • can someone tell me whats the differencebetween a limited edition and a non-limited edition 2010 zx10r?

  • @jamesrichardson63

    Just different colors

  • balls

  • i always wondered what is the yellow tube thingy on the right ?

  • my clocks on k6 gixxer stop at 186mph ? plus i was doing doing more than this guy on public roads in the iom easy in a straight line and yes i know its a teat

  • Caralho essa moto é um canhão. Pega 300km mole e ainda de 5º marcha! kkk

  • i tried to measure the speed and it was close to 311 kmh and thats about 194 mph so yeah even if it stopps at 189 it keeps goin up so its doin a lil more

  • That Kawi engine stops producing peak horsepower at 12500 RPM... so if you keep bouncing off the rev limiter you're not in the peak hp section of he revs.... They really put a squid on that ZX10R... he should have shifted a tiny bit after peak each time... hence why the R1 pulled ahead.

  • @Tdfries While I wouldn't call him a squid per-se, but he def. wasn't as skilled as the R1 rider, but the R1 rider had better lines, the Kawi rider kept going for wide quick turns, and especially at the end, def. wasn't helping him. As for the R1 being low on power, I'm sure it is, but mine feels plenty quick at mid-range and top-end O.o.

My question is how the hell do you go so fast for so long on such a wide road and still have good perception on braking hard for a 40 mph turn...?

  • @Tdfries it hard to tell because my brother have 08 zx10r it redline 13k, and peak power at 12.5k it only 500 rpm, if shift it can be same acceleration, that what my bro said though, but i told him just keep 12.5 k in 6th away from redline it might helps lil better.

  • was mcn pissed at yamaha or what ? They put two different riders on two different bikes and claimed that the Kawasaki took the R1 ! WTF is wrong with them ?

They are two different riders guys ! I aint even a Yamaha fan. I ride Honda 08 CBR

  • The new R1s are fucking UGLY, you literally couldnt give me one of those...

  • very, very good video!!!! excelent ride!

  • wow that is the first time i`ve seen a r1 slaps the green hell.. on more thing i`ve find funny is that when mcn tested this @ standing mile yamaha was the last bike to finnish.. hmmm must be a much larger guy on the zx10r...

  • R1's slap Kawi's damn near every time. Get real dude. If Kawi's were so superior; why don't they win in AMA? Yamaha's do. Standing mile doesn't prove anything but straight line accerleration. Obviously the Yamaha is superior in terms of entrance speeds, exit speeds, being able to get on the throttle harder leaving the apex.

  • @96vortechSS hAHAHAHA get real kid.. AMA LMAO!!! what kinda statement was that..zx10r won the lemans 24 hour race.. and that is big.. ama is race rigged racers OMG. i don`t have the time..stock vs stock the zx10r was 2 tenth behinde the new bmw so don`t you fucking come to me and brag about race bikes COMPLETLY DIFFERENT STORY... cycleworld and motorcycle news both USA mag/testers they where both around 2 tenth behinda bmw.. same goes for mcn, superbike, fastbikes, performancebike in UK. so GTFO

  • @96vortechSS do you watch AMA? Or Moto GP? Yamahas do not win everytime. It's a pretty fair mix. Do you ride? I have a gsxr1000, a kawi 636 and an r1. The gsxr handles much smoother than the r1, and my buddys zx10 is much more comfortable. In the end, its the rider that matters most, the liter bikes are really extremely simialar performance wise.

  • @GeckoRider1000

Is your R1 yellow? Yes I ride. Currently an 2005 R1. I used to own a CBR 1100xx. I do watch AMA and Moto GP when I can. I know the Yamaha's don't win everytime. I just don't see Kawi being the Ultimate force like so many of their fan boys believe. Prior to the Bimmer; a lot of people think the ZX10 was the fastest machine. There is a huge difference in laying down massive power and having linear, usable power. I'll take the lesser hp bike that has usable power any day.

  • @96vortechSS nah, my R1 is black/red. Wasn't trying to be a jerk, hope it didnt come off that way. I love my R1, but the ZX 10's are so crisp feeling. I love them! As I said before, with liter bikes, its far too close to say one is faster or more manageable than the others. I will say the zx 10 feels a bit more aggressive though, which is not always a good thing for novice 1000cc and up riders.

  • more mcn crap wat is the point?

  • how does the speedo keep climbing with the front tire in the air is it hooked to the rear now.god ive been away to long

  • @NonRider haha, well lets see here, even if it was hooked to the front... then the front tire wouldnt come up at all because the front would have been pulling the bike. so of course hooked to the rear silly nonrider.

  • @TheAmazingTTOCS hey genius, the speedo cable sensor doesn't make the wheel spin, it just measures the wheels revolutions. Chain and sprocket and a mess of other junk would have to be moved to the front wheel to "pull" the bike. Silly bastard!

  • @TheAmazingTTOCS He was referring to the speedo sensor... not the actual power to the wheel. He was wondering why the speedo keeps climbing on a wheelie because back in his day when you would do a wheelie the front tire with the speedo cable wouldn't connect to the ground, thus the speedo would stop climbing.

  • @Tdfries can you see at begin vidoe zx10r did wheelie for bit it still speedo climbing, but my k7 gsxr 1000 i wheelie for like a mile, my speedo still climbing from start until 6th gear and stay wheelie but mph stay at speed, when i try go bit faster wheelie, it does climbing though.

  • @NonRider well they used to be hooked to the front in my day thats why i asked, its been to long for me,dirt only now roads scare me to much

  • @NonRider My 06 Ninja is hooked to the front, 08 gsxr is rear, so must have been 07 I would guess, maybe 08.

  • @NonRider Yeah Kawasaki realised riders want to know how fast they're going when they're wheelin =D so they hooked it to the rear

  • suzuki rulz :))))))))))))

  • I miss those days. I had a busa and an R1. when I get back on my feet I'm getting another busa , and a cruiser.

  • I have a '09 ZX6 now but when I pay that off I'm def getting it's big brother....the zx10 !

  • Well said beterrba77!

  • I like the 08 ZX-10R (great performance), I just can't stare at it too long, it's fugly.

  • such a shame that its limited to 189....it has so much more it could go

  • 189 to 90 something in a second!!! Thats called braking!! Hats off to Ninja, THE KING!!!

  • @shravanrulez you are aware the video skips

  • where is this?!

  • You could put 3 more gears on that beast!

  • it climbs to 180 mph like its nothing, wow.

  • @ukmale164

    Well its made for it..

  • its mp/h or kmp/h ?

  • @drozdziu298 mph....this is the british version of the bike

  • itz ah KAW.. DONT MESS WIT GREEN MACHINE

  • very very nice

  • 0:10

    i just fxckin came 0.0

  • seemed like he would get some head shake every once in a while

  • The guy infront seriously needs some driving lessons, that form is absolute mess.

  • That straight line acceleration is absolutely brutal.

  • the guy on the zx10r needs to shift up gears a bit sooner, not ride it in the red and bounce the limiter, its made its peak power by 12,500rpm

  • Wow that motorbikes pretty cool...

Question: Do you ever take it off any sweet jumps?

  • @LeroyRifkin hahaha napoleon..

  • @incognito96 Quite frankly I would like to know why sport rider, my own experience, and that of my entire crew (KZR) disagree with the R1 idea. The R1 is a technical bike not a power bike, anyone with a sense of speed could tell you the bike losses alot of power upper half of the rpms. I own a ZX10R 08, and a lot of R1 riders in our crew agree the ZX10R is a street king, it losses alot of track value yes, but it's the rider that determines who wins any challenge.

  • @dconrad1414 doesn,t look like it puts out more power if it did it would of overtaken the r1 you waste of spunk.

  • the speedo readsto high . mine said i was doing 80 but really only doing 72 [ was wondering way the cop pointing the lazer gun at me did not give me a ticket] .until i learned of the speedo over read .i had to buy a speedo healer to correct it so i could tell the actual mph

  • all jap bikes are limited to 186.2mph via the ecu and as all speedos are required to overread by uk law by around 5-10% the speedo will stop around 189mph. the fact the revs are still climbing is that 189 is not 5-10% more than 186.2... plus you think the tacho is telling the 100% truth as well? the 06 r6 speedo said it was doing 17,250rpm when it stopped at 16,500... And who cares? If anyone here can ride a zx10r like this on a road then no R1s bmws or blades will be anywhere near you...

  • The jap bikes arent limited to 299kph/186.2 mph to keep them legal its because they nearly ruined their own market with the hayabusa/zx12r/blackbird war going near 200mph, so they all shook hands and said no more than 186 (.2 for some reason).

  • the speedo is locked at 299 to keep it legal as a street bike. the rpm goes on so it does around 320 maybe 330 max

  • looks to me like the zx10 is not so fast against r1 as ppl think

  • @incognito96 pretty sure the zx10 puts out more power u cock sucker

  • Seems like the r1's lack of top end power doesn't hurt it in the top end.

  • thats because the difference really isn't as big as they make it out to be, basically unless you are racing around a track, with two AMAZING riders, its not going to make a difference. and the point is proven here by having to skilled riders, but they arent amazing. and a lot of this judging on the R1 having lower top end power is the feel of the bike, the R1 doesn't feel like it is accelerating quite as hard, even though the difference is small.

  • @PhilG88 It's not just the feeling that the R1 lacks the midrange and topend power of all of the other liter bikes... its been proven on the dyno. Check every reliable motorcycle new source and you will see that the dyno sheets don't lie. The R1 is down on power.

  • @Tdfries probably true, seeing as how most are saying its an easier or more "novice friendly bike" not that a novice needs to be riding a 1000 anyway.

  • BAX1004 your busa is almost 400cc bigger than the zx10..and it's a dinosaur..

  • awsome nice bike

  • 05 ZX-10. Orlando Fla. Bring your busa couch to Speedworld dragstrip. I rape you non- corner burnin bitches a dime a dozen. I run 9:35s all night long. Stock swingarm. No bottle either. Every Fri. night.

  • @BAX1004 you 08 busa would not destroy this bike. And this bike is quicker than the GSX-R 1000 as well. The new zx-10 is the fastest of the new 1000's and will run 1 mph slower top end than your 300cc bigger busa. NOT IMPRESSIVE for you. In like 2000 the busas were hitting like 200 mph...but not your 08. Sorry dude

  • the busas were indicating 200, speeds were off a bit, true speed closer to 190-192 stock that is, a few mods could easily change that. but the busa has traded in what maybe 10 mph max for better handling, less wind resistance, better acceleration, not to mention the amazing new look(I loved the older one's look too) point being, it doesn't matter what year, the busa is amazing, and so are most sport bikes.

  • @PhilG88 this is true but, for 300cc more, you're not getting any better of a bike. That is the misconception that people have that annoys the hell out of me. 300cc more=same 1/4 mile time as the new zx-10 and only 1mph better top speed. IMO not impressive. bigger engine doesnt equal better and faster bike.

  • @burk3385 I assume you are talking about the zx-14 v the 10r. If so, that is a matter of opinion. The zx10 would be faster around a track, lighter more nimble, not quite as much acceleration in the top end. so similar stats but what really comes into play is the size of the bike. the zx14 is bigger more comfortable for long trips, it has a large torquey engine that accerates well a low rpms in high gears(zx10 does that aswell) so really "Better bike" is an opinion, but i agree the zx10 is better

  • see thats bullshit how they put the restrictions on these bike..I'm sure that 10 could over 200 easy..189!! Man what the fuck?

  • Yeah the speedo only says 189 but the revs keep going meaning its doing more....

  • @rwpeaches

Speedos over-read by around 12% thought everyone knew that

  • @rwpeaches i know but it still anbout 185-187 mph on the gps, start hit 189 mph on speedo it about 172 mph on gps. bro

  • That was quite a shock, the ZX10R barely catches up with the R1 at top speed...

  • not a shock. but funny yes. r1's rockk..

  • Im sure it's the rider... the 09 R1 is down on top end power...

  • liter bikes can red line atot more then 600s, its all in the cct man telling ya, proper tension is key unlike 600s they dont. And, well kawasaki is waiting untial 2011 for there liter and yes its 1 and a half fireing thats 540 degrees, more then the r1.

  • Pair of nancy boys,taking 100 m.p.h. bends on a fuckin AIRSTRIP at 60 m.p.h.....grow some.

  • Actaully he takes the turn at 111 mph.

  • I have to agree with the comment about the gear changes. I just can't figure why its ridden like that

  • I don't like the race against the R1. Why take it to the redline in the first few gears? There is no need, your on a liter bike! You can't even go full throttle in first without loopin. Shift earlier, it has plenty of power to push through 2nd and 3rd with out takin 1st to the no no zone. I bet if he shifted earlier in 1st and 2nd it would have been a different outcome.

  • Why wouldn't you take it to the red line? Peak performance is just shy of the rev limiter on most bikes... Short shifting in first would mean you would have to wait for the power band to kick in.

First gear needs to be taken gently, but theres no problem in taking it to the top.

  • On my bike(2007 zx10r)peak horsepower is at 11,500rpm, redline is 13000 and rev limiter is about 13, 300(only hit it once). I weigh 200lbs and full throttle in 1st is a loop once you hit about 7-10k. So.. drop it to 2nd just before the nose leaves the pavement, go full throttle in 2nd and go to 3rd if that leaves the ground, shift at about 11.5k for the remaining gears, except 6th if you feel the need to do 180mph +. Not only will you accelerate faster, but you'll have less wear on the engine.

  • It's funny you say most bikes. That instantly made me think of my own first bike, A 1990 ZXR250 (or ZX-2R in teh US). It revved out to 19,000rpm and peak power was at 14,000rpm.

    Great stuff lol

  • Totally agree with you on that one mate, I've got a 2005 ZX10r with Racefit Exhaust, BMC filter, and dyno mapped power commander making 181bhp at the rear wheel and can make short work of my pals new cross-plane crank R1 which is theory should have more torque wider across the rev range. All i do short shift 1st into 2nd keep the throttle cable tight throughtout the rest of the gears with only keeping my weight over the tank in 2nd

  • Wow, you more than know what I'm talkin about then. 181 at the wheel is ridiculous! I think mine stock is the upper 150's at the wheel. But yea, Everyone feels the need to redline, maybe a 600, but not a liter! Even a 600's peak power drops 1k or 2 short of redline. I think the guy riding was just showing off because it is cool to do if it ain't your bike. If I hit the red once on mine, I immediately start cursing myself. Bottom line, definately short shift the first couple.

  • you should be making more power than that at the wheel, take into account the ram air system which does work, a well adjusted chain and even premium petrol make a differance to these bikes as well. Can't wait until the 2010 bike comes out as its a totally new bike frm the ground up and kawasaki's have always been the quicker bikes on the market where build quality hasn't been a strong point in the past, but some good bikes to pit it against just now with the new R1, Blade, RSV4 and 1198r

  • I know it's in the 170's plus ram air at the crank(which claims to add about 10hp). I guess I don't know how much is lossed before it gets out to the rear wheel. Alls I got are two bros slip-ons(basically a stock bike). Love the Kawi!

  • Comment removed

  • not sure how or why you your comment is directed at me. Who am I going up against? What am I learning? LoL

  • You got ridiculously optimistic dyno. Take 20 horses off and youre closer.

  • I 've need some time to understand that it was MPH LoL xD

  • at a fuckin airstrip hahahaa

  • Stock or Modd'd?

  • Stock.

  • mayby not but you wouldnt ride like him faggot!

  • that little head shake is scary at 180mph, i dont think i would like that.

  • nice!!!

  • hahaha o no you stand up for eachother!! it`s so sweet,, haha a bunch of fag`s..

    USA ""forever""" girls!!!

  • rottepung666 LMFAO

  • Damn fast !

  • is it in mph?

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah it's in MPH.

  • HAHAHAHA o did i hurt your feelings.. yeea a damn ugly species. and so fucking dumb. get a life silly girl..

  • il take an 04-05 over an 08 any day

  • Look at the guy on the R1!! Hes about 100 pounds! I would like to see how big was the guy on the 10

  • too bad it depreciates like a mother fucker

  • But that's a good thing when you're trying to buy one used, lol.

I love my 2006 ZX-10R. I got it with 7k miles at a great price and it's a fucking monster! Sure, that R1 pulled on this '08, but they're still two of the quickest stock vehicles on the road son. Both will easily cause you to soil yourself the first time you go WOT. Both will be highly satisfying on the street, drag strip and road courses. If you're in competition perhaps that R1 is best, but otherwise it really doesn't matter IMO.

  • haha hell yea

  • do you ride or worry about money? i ride

  • i ride to and i also dont toss money in the toilet

  • hopefully ill be a 08 zx10r owner tomorrow!! :-D cant wait!

  • Too much talk... your are all a buch of readers not riders...!!! Just buy one like I did :) PURE Ninja hehehe

  • WRONG.. you hit 189 in fifth around 270kph then klick it up to 6TH and yes the rpm goes further and the speed until you hit around 290 kph depends on the driver..superbike mag. and fastbikes mag both topped out at 179.97mph and 181.3mph on the VBOX "real speed" the test course was 3mile long..if you are 120lbs you will probaly gain 2-3mph more;))))

  • true true!!! that is pretty amazing. . .bad..

  • stil nt keepin up wiv da r1 hehehehe

  • 2009 zx10r puts out 166bhp at the wheel,

    fireblade 165

    gsxr 163

    r1 155

now you lot can stop argueing with one another

  • emmm wa wwa wa what!!!

  • HAHAHAHA DUMB fucking americans, how the fuck did i know it was your stupid fucking species that would not understand!!! HAHAHA you fell right into stupid town..you can only fool 13 year old girls to belive in you. i am gonna say it once, SPEDDO! speeeeeds is not accurate, even for americans!! dumb fucks.. so next time you dont know what a VBOX is so shut the fuck up.and let the other contry play with this ""new unknown thing""

  • I love dressing down the yanks too.

  • cant be too smart yourself if you think american is a species. go jerk off to your VBOX

  • No Rev Limit . com

  • fucking idiot try to measured it with a gps and you gonna start crying.. i actually drive a kavasaki zx10r 08 when we hit 189mph in fifth the VBOX show`d 169mph and topped out at 181mph with me on it and i am 209 pounds with my gear and we did only 2.3mph faster with a 35pounds lighter friend;) and you with the hayabusa you are dumb!! the hayabusa hit 180mph 4.3sec faster then the zx10r and that is MUCH.. to 160mph it was almost even.. WHY? because in silly speeds it`s ALL ABOUT aerodynamics

  • u dam lie

  • the 2008 zx10r makes 180 hp at the crank and around 174 to the rear wheel im pretty sure

  • ZX 10R puts out 192 HP at Crank, Its on the Title

  • I thought that ZX10 would have pulled a little on the R1 but never did, at least it didn't lose any ground!

  • It was not a drag race, and you can tell that the ZX 10 was not really trying to Beat it. ZX 10 puts out the most HP in 1000 class, and has most powerful engine. Read the specs.

  • Read the specs? I own the bike... and my last bike was the 2007 R1. I know the specs. I've got a buddy with a 2008 R1, its time to make a video and post a side by side race.

  • 189 MPH WOW is all I can say

  • If you guys watch the video, at 1:40, he hits 189mph in 5th gear, he still has 6th, which means more speed then 189.

  • its limited to 189 so stock its not going to go any faster than 189 regardless if he has another gear to go.

  • the indicated speed is actually ~15mph slower, and the display won't show more than 189.

i own one, i guess i know it. measured with gps.

  • That's really not as bad as I expected, when I saw 189 on mine I wanted it to go faster haha.

  • AGREED!

  • Bike may not show more then189, but goes faster, I have one, and you can also modify speedo to show faster speed

  • FALSE! BIKE WON'T SHOW NO MORE THAN 189 IN 5th OR 6TH EVEN IN A SLIP STREAM. I KNOW PERSONALLY!

  • Another thing Get To Bro's Full race pipe, juice box, BMC filter-Makes bike go insanely fast with more Top speed.

  • R1, yeah if you want to go slower. LOL

  • Send your Dampers into Kyle Racing for a revalve....24 hour turnaround and $100....Night and Day difference.

  • zx 10r smokes busa on track & street,

  • apparently it will do 100mph in first.the old zx9r will do 80mph in first.

  • Ahhhhhh, and then you get off shaking from exitement and fear.

  • nope but it will get up to 130 in second

  • which bike is faster in acceleration? the zx-10r 2008 or the hayabusa 2008???

    great video!

  • hayabusa hands down

  • if 0.1 seconds or so is "Hands down", then yes.

Not to mention the busa doesnt stand a chance if theres any turns involved, its a sports touring bike not a racing bike..

  • I accept the fact that you're retarded Grodinz. Most motorcycles, 600cc-1400cc are very similar in their 0-60 time. When you talk about motorcycles, you dont speak of how fast one can get to 60. A zx10r gets to 180 in 17.2 seconds, whereas the hayabusa gets there in 15.8. Thats more than a second faster. The top speed on the zx10r is around 185, where as a (not electronically limited) hayabusa tops out at over 200. The hayabusa is HANDS DOWN faster. Tracks another story, not what he asked.

  • LoL @ armchair warriors calling people retards in youtube, you win the internets award.

Who gives a crap about straight line 0-200 when on the track i find busas being lapped by 600cc...

  • Well, since 95% of most peoples riding is done OFF the track, I'd say 95% of people care how fast their bike is OFF the track. You'd know that if you had a bike. (Now I'm gunna get a reply telling me how many bikes you've owned blah blah bullshit)

  • Oh you are one of those tokyo drift guys, racing on street is the real deal etc, eh.

95% of people who buy sports bikes are driving completely wrong kind of bike for their needs.

Most of my mileage with bike comes from the track, driving on streets is plain boring.

  • I'm not a toyko drift guy lol. I'm a realist.

Like I said before, most people ride their bikes on the street much more than they ride it on the track. You can have a ton of fun on streets in a bike, you're riding on the wrong streets.

But you're right, 95% of people do their riding on the street like I said before, so a cruiser would probably be better for them.

But there are those who ride their bikes on the street and know how to have fun and use them to their potentials.

  • Maybe your roads are good enough so you can take the bike to its limits without going to the track.

Down here all the roads have sand and shit all over them, not to mention speeding on an empty highway being a worse crime than killing someone... :/

  • The roads are great in south florida. Well paved, and they're dirt and sand free in most areas. Lots of straights, and a little more north theres some twisties. But yeah, speeding on the highway you get fucked down here the same as where you are i bet

  • As soon as you said to it's potential you lost all credibility.

Epic fail..No but think further through your comments before you post them perhaps?

  • im not entirely sure who that comment was meant towards.

  • right...so any moron knows that a twin fom light to light is quicker than a 14k redline liter bike is..Yes little nopecker a twin will smoke your narrow buttocks from stop light to stop light..so whats your actual point?

  • Check more than 0 to 180 something silly like 1/4 mile and yes that zx10 will ROMP a busa DEPENDING ON THE RIDER..sometimes reading these comments is like watching the blind reading steven king..

  • Get your facts straight, read the specs, Hayabusa puts out 194 HP, ZX 10R puts out 192HP, but is also 100 pounds Lighter! Plus when you factor in ZX 10R ram air, HP is alittle more. Big Diff is 100 pounds, ZX 10R is Real race bike, and its top speed is higher then 185, and also accellerates faster to do less weight.

  • you're wrong, and you're an idiot. I'm not even going to continue arguing with you because its not worth my time. pceeeeeeee bitchhhh

  • Look at 2008 ZX 10 R title, It says 192 HP moron

  • im assuming you mean 194 engine hp, and not rwhp...correct? no stock liter bike puts out 194rwhp. period! and the busa makes more power stock than the zx10 stock.

  • wtf? 194 hp? your a funny dude.

The normal version, here in switzerland, got 250 hp.

And with turbo up to 400. FACE THE FACTS my friend.

  • one of my dumb friends thiks it will got 110 in first. it is really fast just not that fast

  • fucking awsome

  • ohh!

    where is here? airport??

  • beautifull rideing...and godest motorcycle...

  • 189 hiles on h...pretty good...nice whellie by the way....

  • I got an 07 zx10. Those of you 08 riders that had an 06-07 model, whats the biggest difference between the two?

  • Have a look at the Kawasaki Website it will explain all there.
