  • Oh look K.D Lang hadn't let himself go yet at this stage of his life.

  • That dog laughs a lot like richard hammond

  • I love Lee's fake laugh,

  • Indeed it is astounding what one may see in a late Turner painting from a distance of 50'; one may even see an actual depictoral event explained of his senisential sightedness rather than art wank .

  • Ohhhhhh it's a joke, like on Top Gear.

  • I love you stewart lee! I'm not gay or anything.

  • Stewart channels Richard Hammond at 4:35

  • 13 ppl couldn't play jazz...

  • Stew has the nicest hair...And face.

  • "You pair of lying fucking cunts"

  • i fuckin love kitten postcards bro

  • What the fuck happened at like 3:57?

  • @DaemonPanda This clip is from an hour-long video Lee & Herring made, that bit is a cutaway continuing on from an earlier part of the show. Makes sense when you watch the video as a whole but in this clip it's obviously entirely out of context.

  • @DaemonPanda A Scene Where Richard Herring Is Shoving Peter Baynhams Head In A Toilet.

  • Love Stew's hair! Love Stew!

  • Stewart Lee, you are my hero.

  • I love Stewart lee but this isn't my favorite bit of his. It is a great work of dissection to bring the characters of a postcard to life the way he did, and he is in control the entire time, this just wasn't as punchy as "All Things bright and Beautiful" or some of his other great longer bits.

  • Wouldn't the kitten be on the right if it's playing the treble line?

  • @majolo57 Yep, the only thing wrong with this video.

  • what a pretentious wanker, sixth form art schooll 'humour' which thinks its more clever than it is.shit

  • @chrisjoneschrisjones Tell you what. You let us watch our comedy videos, without putting across your incredibly well structured, intelligent and reasonable argument, that in no way proves more about your own intelligence (or lack thereof) than whether Stewart Lee is funny or not; and kindly fuck off back to your Michael McIntyre and Frankie Boyle videos, k?

  • @xSODxDeMoNiaC oh la di da,we do think a lot of ourseleves dont we,why dont you go back to your Guardian reading ,humus dipping, organic sofa sitting self satisfied existence and stop trying to insult anyone who has a different view to yours

p.s- frankie boyle is unfunny shit as well

  • @chrisjoneschrisjones Excuse me? Isn't that what you did in your original comment? For the record, I hate humous. I bet you read the Daily mail, don't you? Go on, admit it.

  • @chrisjoneschrisjones I'd also like to pint out that I can't afford organic food, nor do i believe that it is necessarily any better than 'normal' food.

Why do you assume I think a lot of myself? is it because I can construct a legible sentence? Or is it because I use long words?

  • @xSODxDeMoNiaC Yes for all those reasons, good grammar and literacy are always a sign of a superior, cleverer and all round more amazing human being (and of course one who is always right and should therefore try to talk down to anyone that doesn't share their views)

Indeed i sometimes read the Daily Mail-mostly when im bored on a train and it's been left behind by other travellers. Otherwise i like to read a variety of publications but if it makes you feel better stick with the Daily Mail 'dig'

  • @chrisjoneschrisjones You seem to be making an awfully big fuss over the fact that I am 'talking down to you'.

Despite the fact that you were the one who posted inflammatory comments, unfairly stereotyping both Stewart Lee's comedy as well as the people who enjoy it; and now you're wound up because I responded in kind?

And my point about the DM wasn't a 'dig' based on the paper itself, it was me making assumptions about you in the same way in which you did for me in you first reply to me.

  • @chrisjoneschrisjones

Shove your incorrect opinion up your sanctimonious hole!

    (my opinion)

  • @pcoll04 fair enough!

  • Franklin ajaye

  • best 3 comedians ever:

    Stuart Lee

    Bill Hicks

    Woody Allen

    In no order.

  • @H0TCLAYT0N Stewart Lee.

    Not Stuart Lee

  • is quite funny to hear, how the majority of the audience don't get it :)

  • can't you play jazz mate?

  • a great analogy to what happened to Steven Adler getting booted from Guns n' Roses

  • @ugmachine2000 the letter 'n' is no where near the letters 'a' 't' or 'e' so how you managed to add the 'n' is beyond me.

  • I think that the sales this poster and card get (largely) from here on, will be because of the attention this video was giving to it

  • @ugmachine2000 I implore you to go and learn how to spell the most basic of words.

  • Gotta love when people attack something they don't like by saying something like 'oh, he's merely the pied-piper of the pseudo-intellectuals lololol' as if saying that then gives you the high ground? Why can't he just be the pied-piper of people who enjoy comedians with perfect timing, deadpan wit and a very knowing sense of irony? And actually, I think Michael Macintyre is also funny because I'm not a total snobby cunt who can't appreciate humuor on more than one level.

  • @ChrisWales22 Bless!

  • @UncleSqualid Don't patronize me. I'm a big fan of Bill Hicks, George Carlin, Frankie Boyle and who ever else can produce quality material beyond the like of Michael Mccintyre. Stewart Lee is the pied-piper of the pseudo-intellectuals

  • @ChrisWales22 Your comments and opinions are valued.

  • I believe he's actually got another series, it should be on later this year I think.

  • Aye, Armando Iannucci said they had a new seres on twitter. Great news.

  • @aliquidcow There's definitely another series of Comedy Vehicle coming.

  • does anyone know where u can find a video of a stand up where Stewart has a 70's record and does a similar set taking the piss out of the cover??? it's halarious!

  • That was on his TV show Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, which you can get on DVD. It was the episode about Comedy, broadcast as episode 5 but meant to be episode 6.

  • omg! ur a legend! thankyou :)

  • Homosexuality, Girls with Big Boobs and Cocks caught in trousers for the win.

  • that was hilarious... saw him do that live at Latitude Festival 2008! do you have a link?

I think it was a comedy record, rather than a music one. Wasn't it named after a pun on 'comedian' or something...?

  • @Bubbles4uk

It's on his comedy vehicle, buy it!

  • @Bubbles4uk he does a routine about a 70s 12 inch vinyl ,but its a standup comic record ,its on comedy vehicle is this what you mean?

  • @Bubbles4uk

search youtube for "(1/2) Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle: Comedy (S01 E05)" it's at 6mins and forty seconds in that.

  • @Bubbles4uk Type "Stewart Lee - I'm a comedian, seriously"

  • simon the kitten

  • If only all comedians were Steven Wright.

Or maybe, if there was only one comedian and he was called Steven Wright. Who is Steven Wright?

  • Trev, have you actually bothered to extend your reserch on stewart lee to more than 6 minites of your life before coming to a conclusion that he is a 'bad comedian' i beg you to watch the Big Brother Scandal sketch, tell me thats not funny

  • "..........and he had to go up there".

The best thing about Stewart Lee's stand up is the silences. You need so much confidence in your material to have those long pauses and that much of a drawn out delivery.

  • It's good, but old Lee provides proof that he gets better with age. It doesn't compare with his more recent stuff. Was this the 90s?

  • Yeh mid 90s, this was the Fist of Fun video, which I think was hastily made after the second series of the show.

  • I disagree, this is why he's one of the best in the world. 6over 6 mins out of a postcard.

  • @samsonlovesyou This is on a par with the Franklin Ajay stuff. It's just one thing he's seen that he can read so much into. If you go back and watch his old stuff from FoF and TMWRNJ he can pick out so much from so little

  • @samsonlovesyou I don't know, my favourite routine of his is the "grass is always greener" one which is relatively older.

  • Comment removed

  • is that Chris Packham Bog-Washing some poor unfortunate @ 3:57????

  • Read the description.

  • Go arrest yourself.

  • Stewart Lee disgusts me. I struggle to fill five minutes with funny stuff, and he gets seven minutes out of a sodding postcard!

  • Basically, yes, playerthe2nd. He infuriates me! He's just soooooo good. Anyone who's better than me should be illegal. (And that's a *lot* of people.)

  • I'm illegal, and so are you.

  • Em....he/she didn't mean it in a literal sense.

  • 6 minutes 57 seconds of epicness, actually.

  • I saw a cat once!

  • Was it in a magazine? Still counts....

  • who's the jazz Comedian now....

  • Stewart Lee. a Master Raconteur. 7 minutes from a postcard, brilliant!

  • paul robinson

  • very funny

  • Stewart Lee is fucking fantastic.

  • wel, bicicles are ok, but my glasses are the best

  • To be fair, in some of his more recent stuff he does acknowledge that humour often comes from the most basic of thing, such as his bit about how nothing is funnier than a fart, although I do agree in general that simply using swearing to get a laugh is kind of cheap.

I think they have both said that this show wasn't very good and the audience was not responsive, but it's a bit I hadn't seen uploaded yet so I thought I'd upload it myself.

  • Joboxers, LOL

  • "you pair of fucking lying cunts!"

  • thanks for uploading this i laughed so hard i spat water all over my keyboard

  • whats with the guy dunking another guys head in the toilet in the middle of the clip?

  • As I said in the description, this is a clip taken from an hour long Lee & Herring video. That bit is a continuation of another segment, it makes sense in context. I didn't really have the means to edit it out when I uploaded this.

  • pure genius.

  • absolute genius.

  • fair play to you, adolph. love what you've done with the kitchen.

  • and kitten looks at them two and says "You pair of fucking lying Cunts!" hahahaha love this guy, brilliant stuff :) ive read what some are saying about him and Gervais, i think Lee is muuuuch better and ALOT smarter. just my opinion :P

  • Yeah but he's tons better now.

Have to say though, I loved ben elton in the 90's.

  • Ben elton is a terrible writer.

  • and idiots live

  • Saw the Fist of Fun Live video for the first time in ages yesterday and have to say most of it was shit. Stew and Rich have really improved over the years

  • You can see the influence Lee has had on Gervais quite blatantly here.

  • Gervais is good, Lee is terrific.

  • Really? I much prefer Stewart Lee's stand up to Ricky Gervais' (although I do think The Office is the finest sitcom ever made). What Gervais bits did you have in mind when you said that about Lee's influence on him?

  • I'm not very familiar with Gervais' awful standup, but doesn't he try deconstructing humpty dumpty for ages, with generally unfunny results? similar concept.

  • Gervais' standup is actually quite funny. But if you don't like Gervais, never mind.

  • im a huge stewart lee fan and i first heard of him when i saw him perform at the teenage cancer trust's 'ricky gervais and friends' night

alan carr, russel brand, sean lock and stewart lee were the 'friends', and i have to say lee and lock stole the show.

ive never really liked gervais much though so i guess i would think that

  • Gervais thinks very highly of Lee as a comic aswell.

  • omg, one of the best sketches ever

  • This my favourite piece of Stewart's material. Not sure why i just love it.

  • Love it.
