  • It looked like he was getting ready to jump lolll

  • Where is this?

  • Thumbs up for Jurassic 5 sweat shirt

  • Separate Reality ;-)

  • Nice!

  • How high was that?

  • Amazing.

  • Fucken impressive, that takes so much strength to pull off

  • How high was that?

  • Dang, thats awesome, I have never consider crack climbing beyond vertical application, didn't think you could put your whole body weight on it (i probably still can't). <<< Mind Blown

  • 0:21 i couldn't help but laugh when there is a climbing video and a guy in a wheelchair just rolls across the screen sorry if i have offended anybody

  • What's the tape for?

  • @Domas64 its to protect the back of the hand, and add grip

  • @Domas64

    For grip and protection..

Go jam your hand in a crack and pull up on it, then you'll know what the tape is for...

  • Awesome vid, very inspiring.

    Song RJD2 - Smoke & Mirrors

  • HAH i told mom spiderman was real!!

  • Can you tell me the name of the song, please?

  • That was so sick... now how do you get down?

  • @icychap duuh, reverse the footage.

  • i love this song and this is PROBABLY the sickest thing i've seen in my life. I need to work on my buildering now ha

  • now thats awesome :D

  • v16 yehh? :)

    wicked find :)

and awesome shot, filming and climbing :) good job :)

  • climbing and parkour have a lot in common, you can see in this video

  • @carlosgximenez

    no.. absolutely nothing in common

  • 1:38 hes like how the fk am i getting down xD!!!

  • DUCT TAPE SOLVES EVERYTHING!

  • I like

  • whatta beast !!!!

  • I love the moment when he stands on top and looks for what he should climb next!

  • This is AWESOME!

  • smooooooth, liked it, the city in the background, could of been 200ft off the ground in black canyon

  • Hmmmn, should that be somethings? Back in 1993 i did a similar climb, BUT i did it backwards, so there is still people who see me as the top master within artistic climb art. I did it under my artist name: Mr. Backwardy.

  • that was a nice ass climb! good job man.

  • That was an awsome climb really took endurance

  • That's very nice , ima keep my eye out for one of them next time i feel like some streetside bouldering :)

  • damn, im pissing my pants, while watching this..respect!!

  • how the fuck?

  • @ejthedj12 It's a hand jam. You basically put your hand into the crack, and expand it outwards. One hand will actually hold your entire body weight, though then it becomes a question of pain tolerance. Of course, that's why we have tape.

It's not as difficult as you think. That crack is definitely not an off-width, nor does it seem to require finger jams.

  • Hey this isn't Peter Parker

  • how do get down

  • You heard right, ladies and gentlemen! Ardarvin is officially "on crack."

  • What's the name of this track? It's excellent! :O

  • Comment removed

  • yeah you rock men greeting from mexico

  • amazing!

  • this video made my hands sweat.

  • amazing

  • whats the track that plays on the video?, sounds cool.

  • what is the tape for on his hands?

  • @EliteSniper345 when you jam a handcrack, you twist your hands and create friction between the palm and fingers and the back of your hand. If the crack is rough, or if you slip, or if your technique is poor, it can rip all the skin off the back of your hands.

  • umm grip?

  • That was incredible!

  • NICE! what's the landing like? and what is that song?!

  • I swear this crack is located on GM Place in Vancouver!?!? If it is, I've climbed it years ago ;)

    Awesome vid, thanks!

  • it issssss

  • Comment removed

  • How does he grip the cracks with his hands? Did he do finger locks cus the cracks looked wide. It was still amazing.

  • how does he grip the crack? well, he is cupping his hands once there inside kind of like a natural cam, youre right that crack is too big to lock

  • Makes sense. Thnx.

  • nice vid dude, gets my mind back into the buildering-state. thanks for posting!

  • 'buildering' is a evolution of bouldering............it's used to describe urban climbing (on buildings) hence the name, Buildering....instead of climbing on natural rock formations and/or boulders

  • if he had fall, how high was it?

  • nice hoodie + i think the tapes to give his hands some bulk 2 cus that looks a wideis crack.

  • Not even fake, it's just a handjamb out a roof, not even a long one

and if you have calluses built up you don't even need tape

  • U've clearly never climbed b4.

  • Definitely not fake. Every rock climber knows it's possible--just not easy. :)

  • And why do you say it is fake? Just beacuse you can't do it?

  • because he jams his fists... Skin would tear off and make soms cuts if his hands were untaped.

  • lol @wheelchair

  • Cool

  • Hahahahaaa!! Bitchen jam crack! man, I miss buildering in this one horse town....

  • is he pushing out on the sides of the crack with his hands to stop him falling?

  • HE's jamming his hands in the crack. In this case, It's a hand jam. in essence, you put your hand in the crack and twist, locking it in there. There's more to it than that, but thats the basic idea.

  • Essentially he wedges his hand in there and then flexes outwards. After a lot of climbing it can be as sturdy as a regular hold but it takes some crazy strength and mental toughness. Especially with cut cement like that it is not very nice on the hands.

  • that was freakin sweet. well done

  • Splitter!

  • climbing and parkour have nothing in common.

  • Well there's some climbing IN parkour... as in climbing stuff is an aspect of it.

  • @yayforsnow I hope you're being sarcastic.

  • @yayforsnow yes they have i am a climber and i use the skills that i learned in climbing in parkour. i know they are not the same thing but parkour uses lot of things that comes from other sports (:

  • @yayforsnow .... You, and at least 10 other people, are greatly mistaken.

  • @yayforsnow idk about that

  • @yayforsnow Yeah but I bet if you got good at parkour, your dynos in buildering would improve

  • @yayforsnow that entirely depends on what you view as the definition of parkour, officially, the french define parkour as being a movement of the body to overcome every and any obstacle in ones way, and if that happens to be a whopping great building then so be it. and most of those who do freerunning/parkour do freeclimbing as well, it's sort of integrated. however many people see it as the method of travel as quickly as possible from A to B almost as the crow flies.

  • @yayforsnow except that climbing can be parkour.

  • Comment removed

  • @yayforsnow Have you never climbed?

Or don't know what parkour is?

Climbing is all about the most efficient way to scale different walls, Parkour is the most efficient way to pass through/over/around obstacles.

Walls? Obstacles? I see some pretty close similarities

Sick video btw! This guy is a good good climber

  • @yayforsnow bull, they are both a form of physical exercise, they both train muscles and they have to be done by a human being.

  • @daniel25001

You're not as clever as you think you are.

  • @daniel25001 hes not talking about that idiot hes talking about the techniques and what they are about, cheerleading is a form of exercise and trains muscles, would you compare it to this???

  • @ItsDR your the fucking idiot. he said climbing and parkour have nothing in common. i proved him wrong. he didnt bring "techniques and what they are about" into the equation so be quiet.

  • @daniel25001 i'm sorry friend i'm arguing the same point you are but in regards to what these people meant by their comments on whether these two sports are completely different, your argument was invalid. @ItsDR has a point that just being a sport doesn't make them similar, like comparing cheerleading to these as he put it, but these two sports do have many similarities. you could say cheerleading and gymnastics are very similar, but no cheering and these. however, i agree with you partially

  • @ilovechlourine so your denying that both parkour and climbing train muscles, are a form of exercise and are both done by a human? your point is invalid buddy.

  • @daniel25001 i didnt deny that at all. as a matter of fact i agreed with you on that point and said they do share those things in common. just that you can't really say those two sports are the similar based on sharing the same traits ALL other sports share as well. Having been a competitive swimmer for over nine years now along with the VP of my colleges parkour training club and belaying at the local climbing gym as my job, i know quite a bit about the REAL similarities among different sports.

  • @ilovechlourine i wouldnt exactly say darts or snooker train muscles. sorry for being awkward ;)

  • @daniel25001 any repetitive motion trains muscle memory,

  • @clanzee22 ?

  • @ItsDR i already posted a remark to both of the others involved in this argument, so i may as well point some things out to you as well. The techniques involved and what they're about have many similarities. you also should do some research on parkour. unlike freerunning (because the two are NOT the same), parkour is defined as the art of using movement in the most efficient way possible to cover an obstacle. as defined by its founder David Belle. climbing is often used in parkour to do this

  • also, read the comment i posted to the guy you're arguing with. comparing to sports soully on being sports doesnt work, so in that you are very right. but as far as techniques go, one can't honestly say climbing and parkour have no similarities when the act of jumping and grabbing a wall and pushing up on top of it in parkour is exactly the same as dynoing to a hold and mantling on top of it in climbing. one is simply called a cat jump while the other is called a dyno and a mantle

  • @yayforsnow completely untrue. do some research, how parkour started, what it originated as, how its founder David Belle defines it and how he trains, and you'll find that climbing and parkour actually have many similarities. know a little about the two things to make a comparison, know everything about them before assuming they have nothing in common.

  • thats just amazing

  • wow

  • pro

  • Comment removed

  • I suspect because he was relying pretty much entirely on the friction of jamming his fist in the crack and squeezing/twisting it to hold on. That would tear the skin off your hands pretty quick, if untaped, I'd think.

  • That's awesome!

  • well done

  • Cool!

  • ace

  • lol

  • very nice looking

  • Wow some hatred in this thread about how easy this climb was.

Sure, but 99% of people could NOT do it.

Besides the video is more an artwork than a document detailing some sick climb! Nice bacgrounds, semi abstract, excellent :)

  • lol higher then 99%, you got to take into account the concrete is really smooth and completely flat, its freckin insane

  • I don't think I could onsight it, but a day or 2 of practice should unlock it. I don't know tho. My hardest grade level is 6c/7a (some 7a I can do, and some I can not.)

  • yea, maby

i have no hope though, i suck at crack, i need the

texture and variations or im screwed

  • same here, i can do 6c+/7a, but cracks are a mysterie to me

  • that was a cool problem

  • Sweet.

  • Awesome. How high up was he actually though? The camera man had to be somewhere.

  • why does it matter? its just as impressive 3 feet from the ground as it is 300 feet. One way or another he scaled that crack and it was sweet.

  • It was a matter of interest since the camera angle doesn't give any clues. Of course the technicality of the climb is the same no matter what, but the psychological challenges of it are another story.

  • jesus christ dude

  • Amazing.

  • nice one

  • vedy nice

  • nice climb and the crack technique.

some bulb head think it's parkour...it makes me laugh

  • climbing is a significant part of parkour. its up to him wether it is parkour or buildering. and im pretty sure zanshin is a parkour group of some kind.

  • Fuckin A!

  • yo Player...let me tell you something else about Parkour.

Yeah (applaud) for your technique on climbing...but the deal is not to show off with such suecide things with wich pritty soon you'll realise wth you have been doing.

sry for the bad english speaking...

    Cya ;)

  • The "no showing off" thing is misguided and stifling.

If no one made videos showing off their skills and accomplishments that they were proud of then there would be little standard of excellence and inpiration to progress to the next level would be lacking.

You might see it as showing off, but (hopefully) most people see it as inspiration.

  • @JacktheDaniels This makes me want to learn my hand jams so I can climb some gnarly crack.

  • @JacktheDaniels not everyone needs inspiration

  • Man that was beautiful...

  • That made me feel sick!

  • O_O how can it be possible just to climb on a

    _| |_ wall ??? very impressive :P

  • impressive

  • Nicely done!

  • Rjd2 - Smoke & Mirrors <-- The song.

  • second that motion. what is this song, please?

  • what is this song?

  • what exactly is this?

  • that is a little nuts.....I like it ^_^

  • beautiful, and the backdrop is amazing

  • very nice;)

  • damm its not showing my first comment under a few inches of water... nm

  • lol, "A few inches of water"* ,bit tired:P

  • "the height has nothing to do with the difficulty of this climb "

I think your reffering to the psyhical difficulty of this climb. But not the mental aspect of the climb.

    Ok 8-10ft big deal?

    Concrete. Bah who cares?

Some people do.A person can die from a inchs of water and can easily crack their head off concrete from a small fall.

The mental aspect is fear.Being able to overcome that is a challenge to people who havent done so before.

Pusing our boundries will alow us to evolve

  • pkpaul, get out please, I think every climber here including myself has been to horse pens, or stone fort, and we all have climber 20+ feet, 10 feet is nothing

  • the height has nothing to do with the difficulty of this climb

  • Holy crap!

  • The guy in the wheelchair... is that the previous guy who tried that?

  • yup

  • jurasic 5 hodie =]great music

  • cool line, bro...

  • how tha heck does that work man.?

  • That was nice!

  • its the next splinter cell!

  • great job, now how u gonna get down?

  • double backflip

  • that crack climb rulz!

  • nice one...

  • nice

  • Thats sick dude... Keep it up!

  • GREAT JOB!

  • that was so shit

  • how did he get down?

  • elevator

  • lol, its a building. mabie the elevator

  • He's so dreamyyyy

  • nice work, great camera angles

  • thaanks !!
