  • that's the sound you get when you just record the live PA mix.......

    good stuff though....

  • very nice

    - love DP

  • Richieeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this is one of the greatest LIVE version of BURN only that the mixing is bad....Blackmore is still the greatest!!!!!

  • original

  • Elf on the marquis as the opening act! That was Ronnie James Dio's band, and how he and Richie first met - to later form Rainbow. Duh!

  • 3:46 LIKE A BOSS

  • @zephranna01 Try telling that to someone who is 74. That's if he could hear you.

  • I think that Glenn Hughes is better. xD

  • @angelomaiden666 Glenn Hughes es mejor.

  • 4:30!!! OMG!! i like Glenn, but here he sounds like someone's stabbing him in the ass with a branding iron!! lol!!

  • 4:17!!! lol!!! ;) an early precursor to moshing!!

  • Deep Purple = Ritchie Blackmore.

  • coverdale the best!

  • @MrMadridista29 I think coverdale sang this song well on the studio version, but i really dont think he cut it live neither here or on the california jam. Actually I think he sang better with whitesnake, later on, than he did with Purple.

  • @Polsebrodify No way, Coverdale sang great with DP, check out ' Come taste the band '

  • Coverdale is great vocal, but Gillian is better

  • Glenn didn't do his best here.

  • exelent

  • This song rips off the riff from Gershwin's "Fascinating Rhythm".

    watch?v=IaePv5Lv2u4

  • @DURound lol!!! ;) well, i don't think it was a conscious rip-off.

  • @rickfan1964 Actually, he brags about ripping of Gershwin. There's an interview somewhere on youtube about it where he shows how he did it.

  • @DURound ohhhh! well, i didn't know that.

  • Anyone know where I can get a copy of the DVD?

  • Is this straight from the desk? If so the vocals will sound really "nasal" and strange. I bet out front it sounded fucking incredible.

  • Wanted: Keyboard player who recognizes the humble majesty of Jon Lord.

  • Ian Paice kicks so much ass

  • @DutchVandar666 OH YES. YES HE DOES. one thing I would have LOVED to have seen in about 73 or 74 wouldve been Paice and Bonham trading 12's for about an hour. EPIC!

  • @rf396 that would have been absolutely fantastic

  • These singers suck. Neither can tie Gillan's shoes.

  • @swami1 the mixing is what sucks..

in fact they are much better both than gillan (together or alone )

    imo :)

  • Will someone please shoot that chicken... I mean Glenn Hughes. How Glenn Hughes didn't get sacked after this show with all that screaming I don't know. He freakin killed Deep Purple MkIII.

  • @repetitivemotion No Come On Glenn Hughes was/is great! They had one who sang high and one low, they were a great combo!

  • BEST BAND EVER.

  • One of the best and beautiful guitar solo of all time.

  • to me coverdale alive was way better than gillian...gillian in my opinion sucks alive...he always sings the lyrics wrong

  • @Corleonetone O.o SPAM!

  • @Corleonetone gillan sucks alive :) hehe.. I know what you meant though.. to me coverdale is better as well.. as is hughes

  • @leppardsnake indeed...he sucks alive

  • Blackmore is an artist., and a poet on the guitar, the Ernest Hemmingway of the guitar solo

  • i still had this record but in a Long Playing album, way back then 1984,Apr.27.

this album had all nice tracks, most especially for YOU FOOL NO ONE &

    MISTREATED.

both John Lord and Ritchie Blackmore are very enthusiastic musician in this

    live concert.

then Ritchie was left the band & form his own,RAINBOW.

  • wow....what a amazing Video!!!! We can really hear the voices, individually...clean....the are the ...my God, withouth words!!! love Deep Purple!!!!

Thank´s to the amazing video!!!! What a Gift!!!!

  • Coverdale cant hang

  • go ian pace !!

  • nickelback better than Deep Purple?!?!? Utter, total and extreme Bollocks!!!! They don`t even come close! Tosser!

  • Greatest Hard Rock Band Ever.

  • ian pace, the lord of drums

  • I agree he did his best playing in the 70's . His 80's live playing was not too great .

As someone said he is back to playing sharp again in Blackmore's Knight .

  • Saw this at the California Jam, in April of 74....... Fan-fucking-tastic

  • comeon, Ritchie is the GOD ! an UFO here in our planet.....

  • jon lord is the man ! !

  • the surgery was becauce he was ill,and there was a big chanse that he never sing again.....and that was before the 87 album!!

  • Ezt hol találtad? Otthon porosodott fenn a polcon?

    Még jó, hogy megtaláltad!

    Thanks!

  • I know my friend, I was only treasing. The bloke's a god as far as I am concerned.

  • Blackmore wanted it back then, he was sharp, enthusiastic, his eighties reincarnations were puffed up with echo and riffs twiddled at 90 miles an hour on one frett. His "Black Night" stuff though is Blackmore back on form at the ripe old age of 73.

  • Ritchie is 64 not 73!!

  • @ricko3k he's 66

  • I think Coverdale sings better these days .........

  • DC had sinus surgery in late 80's. After the surgery his voice chanced. His scale got wider but he lost a lot from that deep tone in his voice. So he sounds a lot more different from 1987 album on.

  • Are you sure it was late 80s? To me it seems like his voice changed as early as 75 or 76, but perhaps he was just singing in a different style

  • @Nastybutzky but did he loose so much of his deep tone? heard restless heart?

  • Fuckin Nickelback better than Deep Purple?..turn it in

  • :O 4:16 "HEADBANGERS" yeahhh

    deep purple 4 ever rockkk

  • what? nickelback sucks ! ... deep purple is the best !! .. and coverdale is the best singer of the wolrd fuckers !

  • Stickleback...who are they ?

  • NOT THEIR BEST NIGHT, FOR SURE.

  • I think Ian Gillan is way better than David Coverdale in my opinion but "Burn" is still one of my favorite Deep Purple songs.

  • i like mk three and mk four better than mk two

  • mk2 Is optimal mark. But mk3 made one good song Burn!

  • @Roctarspally what bullshit. burn was BY FAR purples best album and coverdale was BY FAR purples best vocalist. a lot better than whiny gillan.

  • @bonfirejovi nah david have a good voice but ian gillan have the best voice of rock and roll and metal david doesnt reach the point of ian never but glen have a excellent voice

  • Grande Coverdale, he is the best, W Whitesnake!!!!!!!!!

  • Gillan never sings Burn

  • The mix is bad, not the vocals, dimwits. Coverdale is on lead, Hughes does the harmonies and sings the bridge ( "You know we had no time ". I teach singing and under the circumstances, I think they're pretty spot on. What are you numbskulls listening to ? Nickelback ?

Coverdale was brand new with DP. He went from pub bands to massive stadiums, huge paychecks, and the entire media was waiting to see how he stacked up to Gillian. Hughes had a lot more experience in front of big audiences.

  • Thank You for this reply! I´m also a coach and I think there are too many people in YouTube that know nothing about good singing, real singing! This is it! Real good bluesrockshiit!, so to say!

  • Anyone who says Deep Purple are crap have no idea about music!!!!

  • @hawks1959 they were crap after 1975 mate.upto 1975 they were awesome.band changes ruined deep purple

  • @nickthefox72 I agree, i only like Mk 2, Mk 3 and Mk 4 lineups of the 70s, i dont like their newer stuff :P

  • you are an idiot

  • ajajjajaja nickelbackk suckkkss for ever and you ajkajkja estupid fuckkk

    DEEP PURPLE ROCKSSS 4 EVER

  • sorry dude glenn hughes sings the hi parts they both often shared vocals

  • salute u coverdale!!!! best wishes frm kl malaysia

  • ???????????

  • No its David Coverdale on vocals.

  • and hughes =D both are amazing!! xD

  • richie blackmore is king the guitar

  • Gillan never sing that coverdale's song

  • purple is legend. coverdale, dio, gillan, osbourne, hahuahuah.....

  • Is it just me, or does Cov do this better these days with the 'snake??? Saw them live and he fuckin' KILLED it!

  • thats lewisham odeon at the start now knocked down the last anything there was the who 1981

  • This is terrible on the parts of Hughes and Coverdale, when Coverdale can't hit the notes and sings horribly badly, Hughes screams like a cat being butchered. Bring back Gillan and Glover.

  • its just the way its been recorded man.

straight in, as opposed to to recording the p.a

  • I don't think so. Bring back Gillan and Glover!!!!!!!!

  • nah trust man it is.

notice how everything else gets thrown behind the vocals?

  • LOL! yeah!

  • Gillan has never sung burn!!! Its a Coverdale song!!!

  • he has live in berinkerberg norway

  • What? Gillan singing Burn?

    you're a liar.

  • hedid i saw him in moscow

  • peccato per il pessimo audio...grandi purples, il migliore combo rock, qui nella formazione migliore...

  • COVERDALE FOR EVER

  • Richie, David, Gleen, Paice and Mr. Lord ...

The best DP line up ever !!!

  • that's right! so true

  • YES!!!!!

    THE BEST EVER!

  • I dont think so, after Burn album they became stressfull and they couldnt understand them very well, cause Coverdale and Hughes wanted to do funk music and ritchie didnt. After stormbringer Rithice saw that his view was put aside and he didnt like many songs as 2 songs that seems rocknroll, he wanted more energy .And then he push them to try to slow down some songs and then you have Soldier of Fortune which blackmore likes a lot. Then he left and Purple wouldnt be the same nevermore

  • the best line up is blackmore, gillan, glover, lord, paice

  • I agree.

  • Deep Purple Rules!

  • I watch this and smile....Blackmore makes me so happy with his playing

  • Great show. Early Purple still fuckin best.

  • I was at this concert, aged 15.

    Third or Fourth row.

I still hgave the programme somewhere.

I went to this, I think Hammersmith Odeon, and they also played Lewisham Odeon.

Saw that too as my school-friend's mum was the manageress.

Went back to school the next day.

My ears were ringing for two days afterwards.

    Awesome.

Nothing has matched it before (obviously) or since.

  • i saw them in chicago about '74 and i almost left because it was so loud but decided to stick it out because i wanted to see them so bad...i'd waited so long. that volume level was excrutiating!!!

  • could be the best version of the song around the world of internet w/ better sound quality. such a shame...

i don't like coverdale as much as gillan, but he's good too. hughes belongs to the small group of the world's best bassists (together with roger glover). lord and blackmore were always and will always be the best - and ian paice is a greatly talented man, too.

    well, i like dp :)

  • the best in that years no for the sound only for the hope!!

  • I need burn cords

  • Well set fire to 'em, but then what will you wear?

  • good answer....god dammit spell check man!!!!

  • you mean the harmonics? The song is in G. The riff is based on the g and d string. 3. 5. and 6. fret(powerchords,). The Bass is played with the thumb on the deep G on the E string. The solo is mostly played in pentatonic g, and minor, it´s not very difficult to play, look in the net for "burn-tabs"

  • It´s often said that Mk 3 is inferior to Mk 2, but i disagree, i think both are excelent, yet very different from one another. I just can´t imagine Purple´s history without it, and they made really good music.

  • Sempre grande la Viola Oscura!!!

    Oppure Profondo Porpora.

Thanks a lot 4 the video:)

  • Blackmore=god

  • Ritchie Blackmore RULES

  • grandi grandi grandi !!!! mk 3 sono stati......grandi !!!

  • Mk 3 line up with coverdale and hughes kicks ass!!!!

  • Someone should have kicked Hughes' ass..and told him to quit yelping.

  • Glenn Hughes has a fantastic voice so shut up

  • the best hard rock's song of all times
