@MrMadridista29 I think coverdale sang this song well on the studio version, but i really dont think he cut it live neither here or on the california jam. Actually I think he sang better with whitesnake, later on, than he did with Purple.
You say 50Cent-I Say Led Zeppelin You say Miley Cyrus-I say AC/DC You say T-Pain-I say Deep Purple You say Flowers-I say Van Halen You say Pink-I say Pink Floyd You say Hip Hop-i say Jimi Hendrix You say R&B-I scream Classic Rock You say hanah montana-i hit you in the face 70% of teenagers have turned to Hip Hop and Rap.If you are part of the 30% that still listen to real music, copy and paste this message to another 5 videos. @DutchVandar666 OH YES. YES HE DOES. one thing I would have LOVED to have seen in about 73 or 74 wouldve been Paice and Bonham trading 12's for about an hour. EPIC!
Will someone please shoot that chicken... I mean Glenn Hughes. How Glenn Hughes didn't get sacked after this show with all that screaming I don't know. He freakin killed Deep Purple MkIII.
Blackmore wanted it back then, he was sharp, enthusiastic, his eighties reincarnations were puffed up with echo and riffs twiddled at 90 miles an hour on one frett. His "Black Night" stuff though is Blackmore back on form at the ripe old age of 73.
DC had sinus surgery in late 80's. After the surgery his voice chanced. His scale got wider but he lost a lot from that deep tone in his voice. So he sounds a lot more different from 1987 album on.
@bonfirejovi nah david have a good voice but ian gillan have the best voice of rock and roll and metal david doesnt reach the point of ian never but glen have a excellent voice
The mix is bad, not the vocals, dimwits. Coverdale is on lead, Hughes does the harmonies and sings the bridge ( "You know we had no time ". I teach singing and under the circumstances, I think they're pretty spot on. What are you numbskulls listening to ? Nickelback ?
Coverdale was brand new with DP. He went from pub bands to massive stadiums, huge paychecks, and the entire media was waiting to see how he stacked up to Gillian. Hughes had a lot more experience in front of big audiences.
Thank You for this reply! I´m also a coach and I think there are too many people in YouTube that know nothing about good singing, real singing! This is it! Real good bluesrockshiit!, so to say!
malays are not allowed here.what have malay done musically.malay only know how to copy.all the race have done something worldwide but malay have not.malay is full of traitors and copycats.blackmore doesn't like immitators.
This is terrible on the parts of Hughes and Coverdale, when Coverdale can't hit the notes and sings horribly badly, Hughes screams like a cat being butchered. Bring back Gillan and Glover.

could be the best version of the song around the world of internet w/ better sound quality. such a shame...
i don't like coverdale as much as gillan, but he's good too. hughes belongs to the small group of the world's best bassists (together with roger glover). lord and blackmore were always and will always be the best - and ian paice is a greatly talented man, too.
you mean the harmonics? The song is in G. The riff is based on the g and d string. 3. 5. and 6. fret(powerchords,). The Bass is played with the thumb on the deep G on the E string. The solo is mostly played in pentatonic g, and minor, it´s not very difficult to play, look in the net for "burn-tabs"
It´s often said that Mk 3 is inferior to Mk 2, but i disagree, i think both are excelent, yet very different from one another. I just can´t imagine Purple´s history without it, and they made really good music.
that's the sound you get when you just record the live PA mix.......

Third or Fourth row.
I still hgave the programme somewhere.
I went to this, I think Hammersmith Odeon, and they also played Lewisham Odeon.
Saw that too as my school-friend's mum was the manageress.
Went back to school the next day.
My ears were ringing for two days afterwards.
Awesome.
Nothing has matched it before (obviously) or since.
