I'm happy to say that the website will be up and running by the end of this week!
On another note ...for those that want to receive an invitation to my FREE upcoming webcast on March 10th, just send me an email and you will get your invitation at the end of February!
This, is what a teacher is. Right tone of voice at the important points, right way of teaching to beginners taking them from their level and bringing it to one with the work.
@Necroamnthys Newbie's are the best!...they want to learn and are willing to LISTEN! So don't think that's an impediment...I'll put out a video soon explaining the conversion at a slower pace. Look for it soon!
@Necroamnthys Since I am just responding to most of the comments here and not really explain a particular method...I am not going to answer your questions just yet. But I will...just give me some time, since a lot of people want me to explain different things that are specific to their needs. I'll get to yours soon enough!
Please note that my website is down!...I am creating a very simple site, one that will basically have my videos for you to watch for free!
For those of you that are looking for more...I will post a new video within the next few days. I would like your imput on what is it that you most likely want to learn about and create a video accordigly. The one with the most request will be the one that I will upload to YouTube!
@coxg90 If you don't know what a Prometric Center is, then I do believe you reached this video by mistake. FYI: Prometric is the certified testing center for Certifications...this video is geared for those that whant to understand an easier method of conversions so they can pass the certification administered at a PROMETRIC Center.
Thanks for making this video, you made it very easy for me to understand. Your method and the way your presenting it is so amazing. ur full of energy keep it up :D
@GenXchaos I'm happy to be of assistance...but remember...get certified! Contrary to popular belief, a degree in the IT field has to go aloong with certifications. That's what employers are looking for now days.
@Novice1984 Hey Novice, do you know what the meaning of an EXPERT is? making every mistake imaginable...and NOT doing it again! What this means is that there is NO such thing as an EXPERT! Mistakes in every field and at every level will be made...not even computers are exempt. So, just by you understanding what I was teaching certainly does NOT make you a NOVICE!
@MMAcused You are correct, you CAN NOT use calculators in any of these exams! That's why practice makes perfect! Not everyone gets it the first time around.
@SKazclaw Well your wellcome! I'm guessing your from Australia? Always wanted to visit the Great Outback!...but I digress...be on the look out for my newest videos, they should be up soon.
@yankeesfinest23 Well...don't really blame your teacher...sometimes it's the administration that's at fault, and teachers have their hands tied behind their backs. The bureaucracy in ALL of these institutions is over the top to say the least...that's why I teach the way I do!
@YvesHenri each number in the binary code (when he says hey look we got binary) are either 0 or 1.. the values that he writes above the binary code are what the 0's or the 1's are multiplied by.. since multiplying anything by zero will always = zero, u only multiply the "1's" by the value above (in blue) look at his binary code.. now look at any value that has 1 below it -> which are 1024, 128, 64, 2, and 1... the rest (4, 8, 16, 32, 256, 512) are represented by 0 therefore are not used :)
@YvesHenri Sorry, but no I'm not Brazilian...did I have a brazilian accent? Anyway, right now I'm responding to most of the comments posted here...not really teaching. I will respond to your questions in a few days.
@Mike22533 Since time is of the essence when I do the YouTube videos...I try to cram as much information as I can...I will explain the binary conversion in another video so that everyone can follow.
ok im learning this for the first time and I understand how the numbering system works however i do not understand how you obtained the binary numbers from 4c3, I watch your entire video and you lost me after the four placement lines for each number.
@stravis76 Sorry I don't have time right now to walk you through the steps...but look out for the videos I will be posting in the near future and that should clear up the confussion.
Thank you so much, i have been having trouble getting around the hex numbers since this semester started, i have a final in about 6 hours and i finally got this, life saver!
For those of you that did not get the conversion, let me know what part you did NOT understand and I will help you with it. I teach this for a living and have taught this method, not just to students; but to other teachers, instructors and professors. It is the easies way to learn the conversion for certs. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to do this in your head. No Calculator needed. I teach this method to prepare students for their certifications, and a high percentage do pass!
@JohnHavoc1 That's your problem, you followed the video until 2.25 instead of listening to the whole thing - it is 4.24 min. long!...I understood it perfectly and so did others here-the problem with people like you is that you have ADD and can't stay still for a few short minutes-you want to get the concept within the first minute of the video-learning does not work that way!...if you did not get it, I can imagine if you were ever told to pick-up a book and study on your own-must be devastating!
wow wtf did you just do i followed you until 2:25 then your all over the place. just like every other professor in college just burst through what you perceive as the "obvious" just because you already understand it.
@JohnHavoc1 we use hex instead of decimal in the computer world because it translates so easily into binary, so 1 hex number is 4 bits, that's what he does there at 2:25. so 4C3 in hex can also be represented by 12 bits in binary, 4 bits for each hex number, also binary is base 2, which is how he gets those values 2^3 2^2 2^1 2^0 = 8 4 2 1, just watch the video from there onward and you should get it.
@JohnHavoc1 I guess Revy2008 and tarawa1220 answered your question. But if you have any more doubts. I will address them in the videos I will be uploading soon.
Please help me understand this better. For the number C8F, I get a different answers using the other method and your method. The other method yields 3216 and yours yields 3215. Using your method, I see that Fs bit value is 15, shouldn't it be 16? Thanks for any help that you may offer.
@hoodledump Ok, I did the problem once again and it yields 3215 for the C8F. Remember the Hex table starts at 0 and goes F which equals 15, that is your base 16. Check your math carefully and always verify with a calculator, after you get the hang of it, you will do it in your head.
You made that look ridiculously easy...thank you so much...
