I've been a long distance friend of Rich's for 30 years. He's a good man. I've known him as a peace-loving non-violent person. What happened was totally out of character for him. My heart goes out to him and his family, as well as Tom's family. It's just a sad sad tragedy. I can't imagine what Rich must be feeling now. I hope he gets the help he needs to get his life back on track.

This is truly sad what happened to this man and his freind, but goes to show when you live outside the will of god the devil surely comes to seek, kill, and destroy, and through alchohol this has happened. My prayers are with everyone involved in this. This is totally a shame and uncalled for and very unnecessary. I hope people will be able to find the forgivness to forgive Rich and I hope Rich will be able to turn his life around and somehow find the peace he needs in life through Jesus Christ.

I used to live in an apartment next door to Tom and Rich in Nashville. What a couple of great guys. Tom would bang on the wall letting us know dinner was ready. We'd feast on the best Italian fare I've ever eaten. And many times Rich would break out his guitar and play a song I would later hear on the radio, performed by some huge country star. I don't know what happened or why it happened, but it is truly tragic and incomprehensible. They were like brothers.

Yes, truly sad. Though I'm far from an angel, the real wild days are over. Alcohol isn't always your friend. Tragic for all those involved.
