@binary1123 ~awesome! why wait!? start drawing your animation sequences on paper whenever you get the chance, then put them on a free rig and start moving them around! :D
holy crap nice. thats exactly how i want my animations to look. ur my idol lol i just started learning this animation stuff so i have a while to go lol
hey i am currently enrolled in rasmussen college 1st year and im studying game simulation and programming do u have any tips for me oh and r u employed doing this?
This was really cool, and I was wondering how to get into this kind of stuff. How do you get the movement so fluid (never done this before) and what kind of equipment do you use? Also, are there certain necassary programs (on computer) that you need and what would those be?
Dude, i envy you soooo much. im a high school student(15) and i remeber ever since 3rd grade i wanted to create games like make the characters for them. im correctnly working in 3ds max. im in it about 3-8hours a day on it. trying to learn and im getting pretty good ( well i think i am). and one of the places i want to work for is epic games. Im looking at going into Vancouver film school or Full sail. What do you or your company think about those schools? Anyways Great job on the reel!
I would also check out the Savannah College of Art & Design, that's where I go for Visual Effects. They have a great game program as well and either of those majors would get you the job you're looking for. Only thing is we work mainly in Maya not 3DS Max.
the show is great and its really REALLY cool and inspiring to me to see the actual playblasts of the shots / characters you in some of my favorite games. great reel and all but the only thing that baffles me is why would you include package man into this? and some of your better animations arent places towards the beginning of the reel, is there a reason for this? very cool to see tho and im sure working for Epic is a dream come true :)
Thank you! They're some of my favorite games as well!! :)
Package man was a quick little test i did for fun, I've got more recent character tests that I'm much happier with, i should swap those out some day for sure.
Very cool chad! What school did you go to? What would you recommend in learning motion builder? I would like to redo some of my animation that I made earlier with that software. :)
Really well done. Im studying to be an animator myself. I was wondering if you had some spare time, if you knew if any sources for information on good shoulder rigging. I cant seem to get it right... ever.
haha. cool. how did you learn animation? college? or self taught? im only 15 and have been workin with the unreal editor (gears of war version) and hopefully some day ill get into the games industry. What do you suggest for wannabes like me?
That was one of the most inspiring cinematic that I've had the chance to work on. It was done in a little under 3 months with a very small chunk of the Epic team. We started on that not even a week after i got onto the team. What a great introduction. Thanks for your comment! It really means a lot to me! Good luck with your degree and future!
Great work man. I've worked with 3ds max and the unreal ed extensively, and can't wait to get my hands on the new engine. I really like your work, and look forward to seeing your new stuff.
Love Epic games, one of the only few companies that does actual game design correctly now-a-days. Anyway, been doing some cool stuff in 3ds max and Maya lately, hope to get into the industry soon... I'm 15 lol.
my advice for any animator is just to animate all the time. At least once a day -do something that relates to animation; whiether its animating a ball, drawing a building or figure, or listening to dialogue and dope-sheeting it. Best is to animate animate animate.
~Everyone has 50,000 bad animations in em, and the only way to get rid of them is to animate more and more.
UC2 was way underrated.
