  • L Subramaniam's Visions of India' 2007 - can somebody please post few recordings from this CONCERT. It was a wonderful evening.

  • God blesses humans with a variety of skills and talents.

He has blessed this man with a talent and level of expression that is difficult to surpass.

He has also blessed those who can sit back and truly appreciate this unbelievable piece of music and expression.

There is a God, no doubt in my mind about it and again thank you Lord, for all you have bestowed upon us.

    NN

  • @NNezman It's beautiful and sublime, I agree...Let's say there is no god. Would he able to play just as well?

  • Greatness!!!!!

  • Brilliant

  • amazing!!! love it!!!!! there are no words to discribe!!!!!

  • super

  • Absolutely amazing, such variation and tone variation...love it

  • The Indian style of playing includes the element of "gamaka" and "raaga" which western music sadly lacks

  • @nacashok : absolutely...tat s why indian music is so soulful...i say dis from my soul since i also practice t same instrument in carnatic way

  • where is the second part of the video?

  • Does anyone know what tuning he's using? This is phenomenal.

  • @devereux12

he starts this on MI major, but the violin tunning idk

  • @devereux12 looks like E B E B where the lowest E is the E below middle C. it's a tuning related to the Karnatic style of Indian classical music. go to indianviolinDOTcom to read more

  • Much better than ANY Western violinist. Peace.

  • awesome !!

  • i 've seen him in south india in 2003, playing for the birthday of mata amritanandamayi, a very great saint, a divine incarnation, at the jawarlalhl nehru stadium in Kochi. that concert was fantastic, i was very happy to see him playing near the saint, during the night... we were in heaven... and with this music, you can imagine...

  • Charukesi itself it Omg. but Charukesi in the hands of Dr. L. Subramaniam is just Godliness in mortal form!

  • Raaginii Sri Priya???

  • What a delectable, delicate, divine delivery!!!

  • I met him in the 90's and got to talk with him for about 20 minutes. We talked about the music i do also, and asked me about artists I enjoyed. After we talked he shook my hand then said---"Perhaps one day we shall share the stage". I was deeply touched.

  • Issac stern once quoated missing passion & varity of color at Asian music must watch this play.....awsome.....

  • Merci beacoup Soraya pour cette video....

La musique nous fait voyager toujours et partout!!!

  • just beautiful. the earlier part every note is like a gentle caress. Truly subramaniam is a master of tone modulation. He really tugs at your heart strings with his music. I'm a fan forever.

  • He is playing a five-string! Cool!

  • Marvellous - please do share you have the full rendition. Was it published as an album?

  • Of course, you can find many albums with a great recorded sound on them, not such "metallic"...go ahead !!! It will be a gorgeous meeting !!

  • this is God's gift for us. May God bless us all.

  • Very few musicians have that extra special gift to create such heavenly music! This is proof that music is definitely one medium through which God communicates with man.

Dr.L.Subramaniam is definitely one of the greatest musicians and violinists of all time! Fantastic and out of the world!

    Thanks Ambi for posting this!

  • i am so excited he is coming to chicago in september! it will be my first time since 2001 that i get to watch a master indian classical musician

  • Definitivamente la conexión de cada nota con la integridad de tu "ser" arrancan momentos de extremas presencia divina!!!!

  • I cries when i heard this

    oh goddddddddddddddddd

    <3

  • tears my heart apart every time....

  • i feel the same,..no words to describe, incredibly touching hearts...

  • Morsing is similar to the Jew's Harp.

  • what is the 2nd gentleman playing with his mouth?

  • It is called a 'Morsing'.

  • Thank you!

  • What a superb musician.

  • The forever sublime charukesi. The last time somebody moved me this much with charukesi was Rahman in Nindiya re from swades. Thanks for uploading this !

  • i wonder if this piece was performed after the passing of his beloved wife- i noted that this concert took place the same year she passed.

when i watch this video, i keep feeling that he is in so much pain.

  • It's quite possible. His wife passed on on February 9, 1995, according to wikipedia.

  • yeahhhh i agreee!!! his playing has sooooooo damn much of painnn and emotions... awesome awesome!

  • this is defnitely divine nectar.

  • charukesi is simply superb it really makes me cry...!!! my hats off to subu sir...

  • charukesi is not a raaga that is quiet often sung in the seasonal concerts.....but then i think i have never heard a charukesi like this in my life .He has just thrown light upon the the never explored nuances of the raaga and has given us an heavenly eternal liss.I say this because i was one among the spectators of this masterpiece in the royal albert hall

  • CHARUKESHI is my favorite RAAG!!!

  • No comment!!!it's just so hypnotizing!!!Subramaniam is a kind a angel!! I mean...it makes me feel as if my soul was floating around my skin...

  • Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful :)) Not always L.Subramaniam plays sweet and with inspiration, this time defnitely yes ...

  • superb charukesi

  • In the soundtrack of "Kama sutra:a tale of love" there is 07 "Eternal Triangle", it's very similar to this music, and it always brings tears to my eyes.

  • Absolute cool and heavenly...

  • His playing is very smooth. Very nice.

  • Dear saibhakt7,

I have been LOOKING for some Subramaniam that has no drums! Where can i get a recording of this concert? WHERE, WHERE, WHERE? I have to have this.

  • Absolutely superb music to tame all those snakes. The Zigeuner music used to do it to its best 50 years ago. Thanks for the great

    service you do for humanity.

  • This is nectar!

  • magic
