@devereux12 looks like E B E B where the lowest E is the E below middle C. it's a tuning related to the Karnatic style of Indian classical music. go to indianviolinDOTcom to read more
i 've seen him in south india in 2003, playing for the birthday of mata amritanandamayi, a very great saint, a divine incarnation, at the jawarlalhl nehru stadium in Kochi. that concert was fantastic, i was very happy to see him playing near the saint, during the night... we were in heaven... and with this music, you can imagine...
I met him in the 90's and got to talk with him for about 20 minutes. We talked about the music i do also, and asked me about artists I enjoyed. After we talked he shook my hand then said---"Perhaps one day we shall share the stage". I was deeply touched.
just beautiful. the earlier part every note is like a gentle caress. Truly subramaniam is a master of tone modulation. He really tugs at your heart strings with his music. I'm a fan forever.
Very few musicians have that extra special gift to create such heavenly music! This is proof that music is definitely one medium through which God communicates with man.
Dr.L.Subramaniam is definitely one of the greatest musicians and violinists of all time! Fantastic and out of the world!
The forever sublime charukesi. The last time somebody moved me this much with charukesi was Rahman in Nindiya re from swades. Thanks for uploading this !
charukesi is not a raaga that is quiet often sung in the seasonal concerts.....but then i think i have never heard a charukesi like this in my life .He has just thrown light upon the the never explored nuances of the raaga and has given us an heavenly eternal liss.I say this because i was one among the spectators of this masterpiece in the royal albert hall
In the soundtrack of "Kama sutra:a tale of love" there is 07 "Eternal Triangle", it's very similar to this music, and it always brings tears to my eyes.
L Subramaniam's Visions of India' 2007 - can somebody please post few recordings from this CONCERT. It was a wonderful evening.

God blesses humans with a variety of skills and talents.
He has blessed this man with a talent and level of expression that is difficult to surpass.
He has also blessed those who can sit back and truly appreciate this unbelievable piece of music and expression.
There is a God, no doubt in my mind about it and again thank you Lord, for all you have bestowed upon us.

i wonder if this piece was performed after the passing of his beloved wife- i noted that this concert took place the same year she passed.
when i watch this video, i keep feeling that he is in so much pain.

It's quite possible. His wife passed on on February 9, 1995, according to wikipedia.
