@MrOyysch It's not "blaming immigrants", its a song about things being 'upset' as we have too much rain, others have too little, and for all the aid that is sent it makes no difference and people look for new lives elsewhere.
Thank you for your comment. The song is of course multi-faceted, covering flood, climate change, immigration and comments on financial issues in a prescient manner. On the other hand, this was done in the aftermath of UK unseasonable floods and before the appearance of the credit crisis albeit not before the clampdown on civil liberties by the current government.
The Romans did indeed grow grapes, as Britain was hotter then. Climate does change, that was 2000 years ago. The difference this time is the pace of change, considerable change happening with a few decades, faster than EVER before.
What a great band. Some of their songs, I swear, have more relevance than the entire multitude of pro-tools enabled shit that is the charts these days. Seriously, they'll be doing a South Bank on this lot soon, and all the trendy wankers will leap straight on the bandwaggon, mark my words. Superb band, with a real message... such great British talent...
They might well have...but there wasn't quite as many of us then. Probably also, a small matter of a flood would have been accepted as the will of the gods!

They are good at writing songs about countryside disaster, their song about the foot and mouth is also awesome and touching...

I agree but surely cutting down on carbon emissions is a good thing, I'm sure we'd all like to breath cleaner air.

Yeah, Britain was much hotter when the Romans were here... grapes only grow in hot climates.
