if only they did this for EVERY song, and for each guy too, especially charlie, all the things he does.... immy too for that matter but especially adam. imagine, just imagine seeing them do "a murder of one" or fucking "high life" my GOD

The Counting Crows songs play a big role through all the good and bad times in my life from the beginning they started with their first album. Adams lyrics made me realise I am not alone "out here" with these feelings that are so confusing.
I wish I lived in America, so I could see more "live" concerts. I was @ Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam and I had so much fun, allthough I went there totally alone at a very difficult time in my live!
Continue to play please.... Bunnyonacid, Amsterdam.
My personal favorite CCs song, I played it for my seventy something year old aunt when I was helping her and my uncle pack the apartment they had lived in since I remember. . . we both cried . . .
I never get tired of listening to Counting Crows... even after 17 years. I can't say that about any other band. It's almost like this song was written for me, as is the case with most of CC's music. Adam's lyrics are poems, actually... ambiguous and impressionistic. This makes listening to CC's music a very personal, introspective experience. Also, the arrangements and instrumentation are brilliant and perfectly crafted. I think we fans feel like Adam Duritz surely must know us.
These guys paint beautiful pictures with their music. I am 40 years old, and I've been listening to CC since I was in my early 20s. This song is a great example of their expert craftsmanship and artistry. The song is so dense. There are so many layers and it works on so many levels, yet it somehow feels/sounds so effortless and airy. How do they do it? CC has spoken to me and comforted me in so many ways over the years. Can't imagine life without this music.
I've been listening to this band faithfully since their first release back in the early '90s. I have seen them twice in concert, too, including a show in Berkeley when I was in college. The Greek Theatre in Berkeley is an outdoor amphitheater. It was the Recovering the Satellites tour and the Hale-Bopp comet was in clear view overhead during the show. Magical night. I'm a musician, and these guys amaze me. What craftsmen. Their music so complex, yet feels effortless and subtle. Perfect band.
glad to see the younger people in here showing appreciation for this group. I have been a fan since their first CD hit back in 1993. I've seen them in concert and they are brilliant. I will never stop listening to these guys and every CD they make just is great. I still listen to them atleast once a day!
quite simply one of the most beautiful songs CC's have ever written. amazing song... you can feel every note.Put your headphones on, drift off and let the days worries just melt away...
I heard him on Howard Stern few months ago he hears voices all the time and is quite looney. I dare say his art would be brillian probaly abstract and beautiful becuase he is still a beautiful person.
I saw the Crows last night at Chastain Park in Atlanta. It's an awesome, high energy show. Sadly for me, they didn't play this song (which I love) although I am not sure it would translate well to a live venue anyway.
i agree on the acoustic have you seen me lately, it's beautiful. and i'm glad there is some other teenagers (i'm 15) out there who appreciate truly amazing music :)
I'm absolutley amazed by Adam's lyrics, and just the entire presence of the band. I can't decided on a favorite. I never have been able to. I really can't because every single song is a continuation of the on-going story. The thing I find most amazing is that somehow I can complete relate to every song I've heard by them. (19 years old) by the way been listening to them since i was 10

@gloriaesmy001 That is sweet, same here! These guys are my favorite band. I am also 14. I have seen them numerous times in concert. And I try to get my friends to listen to there music. And for the most part they like it. They all say its too depressing though. I just laugh. But I love there music, it is awesome!
@gloriaesmy001 I get shivers (17) every time the acoustic version of Angles of the Silences or Round Here plays on the first CD of the Across a Wire set...Came out when I was 3. Loved it since 9. Still do. Timeless.
@gloriaesmy001 It is an amazing song and I have adored Counting Crows from when I was 14 as well (I'm 20 now) there an unbelievable able band and I wish I had his voice !!
This is possibly my favorite counting crows song, its beautiful, its so pure and the video furthers that point by showing them recording it, it looks looks their just jamming and having fun
Sooo beautiful. My favourite band in the entire world. They just get you into that mellow emotional place like no-one else can. Adam's voice makes me cry.
This is a great track from "Saturday Nights & Sunday Mornings," their latest release, and definitely a nice addition to their previous (August and Everything After, Recovering the Satellites, This Desert Life, Hard Candy) releases. If you haven't listened to much of them, check out their compilation, Films About Ghosts, a nice retrospective. Glad the band is recording again.
I heard this on the radio at work, wrote some of the lyrics on my hand, came home and 'Googled' them and haven't been able to stop listening to this since!
Beautiful lyrics, a perfect ensemble and one incredible voice makes for good listening in my opinion :)
that is just so sad to me....I love it! Counting Crows will forever be my favorite band...I feel sorry for those who have yet to discover them...they have changed my life.

I heard an interview he did on Stern a year or so ago. Is he really crazy to the point where he has to take pills or he's essentially schizophrenic?
His songs make me wonder what type of paintings he would make if he chose that as his form of expression instead of music.
