i have a problem - the whole process of downloading the software and the setup process works fine. The only problem i have is that when i log in, it says its connecting and then gives me an error message saying it cannot connect to the internet. I know that i am connected as im using ethernet and i have firefox open with it all working. I also tried to run the program in wine and it also gave me the same error. If you know what i am doing wrong, then please message me back. thanks 4 any feedback
@IDowdow Sometimes, if you are using wicd, it will do this. If so, uninstall it and install the networkmanager (or network-manager, i forgot) package and use that. If that doesn't fix it, it must be because you are using ethernet. (Sorry, I don't have much experience with wired connections.)
@CrazyMan42DABOMB thanks for the feedback, it seems installing it about 5 times has finally got it to work. I also now have win7 in a dual boot so i also use default steam on that now :)
@NewYorkPixels Performance wise, I think that linux IS faster than win UNLESS you are playing win games or you don't have a good graphics card, then it is slow. I personally like linux better, but i have Win7 installed for games and just in case the bootloader gets trashed, like it did. And, it is possible to install it over MacOSX or on a new partition. I'm not sure how to config the partitions, though. Lastly, i doubt you can change the BIOS on mac, so install bootloader on the primary drive.
Hey, nice vid. I have a question. I installed Team Fortress 2 on my 10.10 Ubuntu OS. When I try to start the game, a box says "preparing to launch team fortress 2" for half a minute then it closes with no game running. Can you help me fix this? Thanks.
