They had plenty of help from the pro-commies at the Rolls Royce company of Britain...and more importantly, captured German scientists from Nazi Germany. The German scientists were largely responsible for the MIG's success, not the Russians. The Germans were superior scientists in aviation technology.

In June 1941 most of Soviet fighters were obsolete- those were I-16s and I-153s. Newer Yak-1s, LaGGs(-1, -3) and MiGs (-1, -3) were still under development and Soviet couldn't built sufficient number of them before June 1941. The ones built suffered from several teething problems.

LMAO...the f-86 sabres DOMINATED MiG-15's when they came around. Sure, they owned western fighters before then, but ultimately they were obliterated once the sabers came around...14 migs shot down for every 1 sabre.

All Russian jets are tougher, faster and stronger than American planes (do your own research) but American planes have more expensive software and computers for navigation, target aquisition and rocket guidance.

Americans was realy thrashed but not by chinese or korean pilots. The most part of communist casualties was korean and chinese pilots without expirience - NOT russians, we have last only 13 pilots in this war

u didnt win the korean war... the war infact didnt end.. later the americans by trechery(thats what they r known for)managed to lure a currupt N.Korean pilot into giving his M15.. which was later dismanteled and studied... the americans were shocked by the use of transistors in M15.. ALL KNOW>> AMERICANS R THE DUMBEST PPL AROUND>> THEY ONLY THRIVE ON IMMIGRANT POWER!!

The MiG-21 was also one of the best fighters ever created, and also by the Russians! The Americans thought they had the best fighters in Vietnam, and the 21 often outclassed the fighters the Americans used.

The Soviet Union and US followed different philosophies when they built their fighters. Russia seemed to prefer short range and highly maneuverable fighters for area defense. While the US preferred fighters that were long range and faster jets able to escort long range bombers. At the end it all falls down to the pilot, knowing the weekness of his plane but knowing also the weekness of his enemies plane.

the MiG-21 was one of the best fighters ever created, but the vietnamese were too scared to dogfight with our pilots, they would fly in from a high altitude, shoot all there missiles (which usually missed), and then run like chickens, this is because the vietnamese only had like 17 MiG-21s

lol the mig21 was only flown a few times they were too expensive to lose for north vietnam I believe in one engagement alone north vietnam lost over half its mig21s

Yeah, well the only reason the US was outclassed by the MiGs was because the F4 lacked cannons, like the MiG 15s and 21s. The result was F4 pilots lacked effective dogfight skills. By the late 60s, US pilots' skills improved considerably and made substantial gains over the MiGs. By the end of the 60s, US pilots dominated the skies over Vietnam. Russian planes are crap!
