I really appreciate this song, sometimes I feel SO unpretty and sometime people really make you feel insecure about yourself. I wish there were more songs like this, because this song really does help me out at times.
I have been a TLC fan for many years. But, i do the love the Glee version too. It doesn't matter which one is better though because the message is the same for both songs. Never let anyone make you feel unpretty. You are beautiful the way you are. :)

I love both Glee and tlc granted i was a huge fan of tlc before glee came out but just think most ppl have forgotten alot of the songs then once glee started do you realise how many of them forgotten songs came back in both cover and original? The glee version made me realize how much I miss tlc and I actually thank glee for that.

@allikohcysp it is better than the original in my opinion, and some people are actually able to sing and act they're not just actors....it was two girls and one of them has been on broadway for years before glee, she's an amazing singer....just search lea michele or something and you'll see. this version is more mainstream and hip hop and fast, I just don't think it goes with the lyrics quite as well but it's a matter of opinion so can we just leave it there?
@maryymiller I totally agree with you about the Glee version (sorry to jump into the middle of this argument @allikohcysp) but it is better. I like the acoustics of it, as well as the mash up with "I Feel Pretty". It creates a great contrast to the lyrics. And when you watch the actual scene, not just listen to it, it makes the song so much deeper cause it's not all about a boy, it's about peers and the opinions of other girls... So Glee is better :)

Ok, can we drop the glee stuff? Both versions are great. Glee put it's one twist on it and mashed it up with another song. Personally, I'm glad Glee has given me the opportunity to experience new music. No matter what song they do, they still add their own twist to it, which personally I think makes it hard to compare the Glee version to the originals.

glee remade the song but focused on the sadness of the lyrics, TLC did the song in strengtth and power, i prefer to the TLC version because it is the first and becasue it is in strength not weakness as Glees version.

....you know what Glee is? It's a show that covers songs and makes it their own to enhance the plot. They sang this song during the "Born This Way" episode giving the meaning to love yourself no matter what.
If you don't like their version, listen to the original version. I mean, I think that's why we're all here. To listen to the music. Relax, people. It's not that big of a deal.

Glee uses autotune like it's coke. They just can't get enough. If their going to call themselves "singers" you kind of have to be good at singing. When Glee fixes the "minute" problem then you can say their version is better. Kay? Thanks.

@xJosiiex3 they ARE good at singing. have you seen their audition tapes? yeah they use autotune, but it's the director that makes them use autotune. they didn't have that decision. but they actually do have real voices. and saying that glee is better is an opinion. you can't say it's wrong.

@allikohcysp k then TLC are about house parties and glee is about celebrating being different which is kind of what this song is about....this is a girl group and glee is a TV show that has helped millions of people with their storylines, I was just saying that I think the glee version is better because it's slow and acoustic which fits the lyrics much better, and yes glee is for dorks, because nerds rule okai. @maryymiller just listened to the Glee version. It's ok but you can get singers with better voices to sing it better. TLC version is better. Feels more real and raw to me then just getting actor/singers of a show to do covers of songs. Sorry but GLEE is to plastic, no disrespect. They still sang it good but no chance is better than the original

@allikohcysp it is better than the original in my opinion, and some people are actually able to sing and act they're not just actors....it was two girls and one of them has been on broadway for years before glee, she's an amazing singer....just search lea michele or something and you'll see. this version is more mainstream and hip hop and fast, I just don't think it goes with the lyrics quite as well but it's a matter of opinion so can we just leave it there?

@maryymiller I totally agree with you about the Glee version (sorry to jump into the middle of this argument @allikohcysp) but it is better. I like the acoustics of it, as well as the mash up with "I Feel Pretty". It creates a great contrast to the lyrics. And when you watch the actual scene, not just listen to it, it makes the song so much deeper cause it's not all about a boy, it's about peers and the opinions of other girls... So Glee is better :)

What's with all the glee hating? This song is totally awesome, but I believe the glee girls did some justice to it by mixing it with a musical classic and toning it down a little, making the medley sad and heartwrenching, portraying Rachel's insecurity over Quinn perfectly.

Ok, can we drop the glee stuff? Both versions are great. Glee put it's one twist on it and mashed it up with another song. Personally, I'm glad Glee has given me the opportunity to experience new music. No matter what song they do, they still add their own twist to it, which personally I think makes it hard to compare the Glee version to the originals.

glee remade the song but focused on the sadness of the lyrics, TLC did the song in strengtth and power, i prefer to the TLC version because it is the first and becasue it is in strength not weakness as Glees version.

okay i hate how poeple are saying i hate Glee or Glee is stupid for doing this song. i honestly don't remember this band i was born in the early 90's. Glee mashed it up and made it great. that's what they are doing they are doing originals so people can appreciate the artists who made them, i think Glee did an awesome job with the songs they always seem to know how to add there own twist to it which i think is cool.

Love this song. It makes me think of me, cuz I used to find myself really ugly (I still do sometimes) but now I just shrug it off. If someones only into me for my looks than eff them. I've learned to live with my looks.
