  • I wish i could do this for my volunteer company. I'm in California out at Butte County. And we dont have anything like this, i'm pretty jealous.

  • Woah, chill out with the disrespect. Kid make a post back in 2008 and you lash out just to get a tough guy hardon? Get your facts straight before you bash people. He was making a statement, not an observation. Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

  • Volunteer Firefighter hmmm? lol you look like a cop =P like that bar light alot

  • Whacker

  • yah that just doesn't make sense to me. When i think of blue lights i think of police and when i think of red light i think of fire..... but thats just me

  • @wally0461 im the same way im fron wisconsin where blue is JUST for police and red is used for light fire an shit like that i moved to ny and red is more of a police color they do use blue to but red is more primary and blue is for volunteer firefighters its weird took awhile to get use to

  • Do they offer the light bar in red. Mississippi requires volunteer firefighters to have red lights because the blue ones are for the police and are illegal for anything else.

  • The light-bar itself looks nice... Pretty sharp on an explorer too, but that flash-pattern sucks... Boring. Not very eye-catching.

  • @LFD41dancer Pennsylvania Runs Blue/NO siren for regular vol. RED- Line Officer (Chief/Capt./Lt.) WITH A SIREN Police run Blue and Red... and All Emergency Vehicles run Straight RED.

  • sweet(:

  • Don't turn those on in Kentucky they'll get u for impersonating a police officer.

  • nice bar

  • Here in Rhode Island, captains and up can have lights. In this case, in our dept, captains can have red light no siren. Battalion, division, and deputy chiefs can have anything on personal, and obviously chief can have anything as well. Our rescue lieutenants and captain can have lights no sirens. As for regular firefighters, your at the mercy of the public and traffic. No lights, and no sirens. So we'll get there, when we get there lol.

  • um is that legal? cause ike most states they dont allow blue lights on civilian cars even as firefighters. im use to seeing red nd orange

  • @Dizzles Yes it is Legal depending on which state you live in... .

Pennsylvania uses Blue as Fire/EMS response on your POV.

New Hampshire Uses RED on POV response.. It varies dependant on what state you live in.

  • @583portable oh. i think blues look better IMO... north carolina really likes to pick on people for blues..........

  • @Dizzles Different states have different laws and different departments within different states have different SOPs. Some ride with red, some ride with blue. I personally prefer red though. Better suited for firefighting.

  • @boston18967345 i like reds better too

  • I would love to be able to have the red lights and sirens although I would rather have blue lights and sirens but..... NYS is red only and you cannot run red without a siren. I know people are working on changing the laws around a little bit to have a more determined color scheme ie blue for police and red for fire....like alot of states do! So we shall see if that ever falls into place-JOEYD

  • @redboosted05 - I agree it should be the same throughout. In north fllorida its ILLEGAL to have a POV siren, but we can have our red lights(well LIGHT technically, but noone says anything)

  • hey u put some lights in that grill that truck would look sooo awsome think about it!!!!

  • Nery nice light i must say...Have you thought about grille lights at all, that would add onto the vehical nicely. My truck has grilles and it makes a world of dirrence

  • It must vary from department to department. Our SOP's allow a red light, no sirens. Our personal vehicles are not considered emergency vehicles and if we are involved in an accident, it all falls on us. We must obey the speed limits and traffic signs. Even while enroute to an emergency with lights and siren, we need to obey traffic laws. That's the state law plus what they teach in driver/operator.

  • in michigan, blue is STRICTLY for law enforcement. you can have all the red you want and all the sirens, and people must treat volunteers as they do any other emergency vehicle. basically if you see the lights and hear the siren... get out the way, cuz if a cop see's you and you dont. pull over.. lets just say, nice hefty ticket.

  • thanks for the info?

  • Is that light bar all blue or blue and clear??

  • Blue and Clear.

If you look carefully at the front, you can see the clear offsetting against the blue.

  • Don't worry you can do it in all of the states. You cant in Minnesota. You can one like 2 inch by two inch red light and i cant flash, but still have to obey all traffic laws....kinda dumb if ya ask me. Put firefighters through emergency driving courses, and let them use lights and sirens. I don't know about the rest of you, but i don't want to watch my house burn while the whole department is stuck in traffic lol

  • Dude you guys in the states are SO lucky your allowed put lights and sirens on your own cars... here in Ireland were stuck in traffic like everyone else while trying to get to the station... really sucks

  • i know what u meen there mate!

  • cool

  • really nice

  • How Much Was That?

  • 629.99 from LEDoutfitters(dot)com i have one on my crown vic in all blue no amber

  • @burtonthegrt1

just bought my bar and posting vids. LEDoutfitters(dot)com has the best bars ever for CHEAP. The dude Michael (on the Island in NY) that sells them needs a course in customer service skills, but if you can put up with his lack of niceness or can just place your order online without questions... BUY ONE. I wish they had more videos with patterns before I bought mine so I am posting short 20 second videos of them for others to see.

  • nj jersey started the "move over act" in jan of 09. "you must yield to any vehicle show a waring light. Red Blue Purple Green White Purple. Amber is still a caution light. failure to yeld can result in fines and possible point."

  • That would be nice if PA did the same thing, but who would be out looking for the people NOT yielding.?

  • Im a NY, Long Island, vollie, and although NY law states we can only have 1 blue light in our car, on Long Island, the rules are.... bent.... a little ;-)

We are "allowed" blue/white lights, strobes, wigwags, and ANY color combo in the back of your POV. We are allowed to exceed the speed limit to an extent, and pass other viechles only when they allow us to. We can also stop and proceed with extreme caution through red lights / stop signs.

  • must be nice in michigan we cant have any blue

  • Do u have red lights?? Blue isn't really all that nice (its better then nothing), can't run a siren with blue, and if people aren't looking, they won't see that your behind them, and most likely won't move out of the way.

  • no i can only run red white anything but blue and yes i have a 200 wat code 3 mastercom and a signal ss651

  • Then why would you want blue!!? Hell, I'd rather have a siren and red lights!!!

  • ya but blue is nice at night it is very bright lol ya must suck not having a siren i love my sirens

  • Easy tiger with the 'allowed' stuff. Im an LI vollie on the eastend and I know what youre getting at. Its more like what isint seen isint noticed. And plenty of Suffolk County cops are quick to pullover the bluelight brigade for speeding and passing even if another car pulls over. Is it right? Fuck no. Cops make unsignaled turns on red all the time. But if you town 'dosent notice'.... Dont really bring attention do it. Newsday dosent like us enough as it. :)

  • I also live on long island and Im planning on joining the volunteer fire department next year because im only 17. Do these laws apply for volunteers as well.

  • on long island you are alowed a single blue light and that is all

  • in terms of obeying traffic signals you must obey them whether you want to or not, i'm only 16 and a junior ff and i know some of the law book i do live in pa but a "blue lighters" have the same laws

  • @nov2529 yeah, it kinda sucks in pa. where i'm at if everyone stops at the intersection and your clear to go even if the lights red, they go. police have watched the vollys here do it so i think that it depends on where your at

  • Nevermind i missed the vollie part.

  • Hide Aways are strobe or LED lights that are used in headlight lamps, corner lamps or tail light lamps.

  • which light is that on the top i'm looking to get one and yours looks awesome

  • Can you speed being a vol firefighter?

  • depends on wat you mean by speed? if your state grants you emergency vehicle rights for your POV then you can, to an extent, as long as you are not driving wrecklessly or endangering the public, and with due regard for safety

  • so does that mean your able to pass people in town and are people suppose to get out of your way just like a regular emergency vehicle?

  • yes, if your state says that when your lights are activated people have to yield, some states only grant that though, not the ability to go through red lights or stop signs, you still must drive with due regard for public safety, and drive in a safe manner

  • in Iowa, the lights are just a courtesy, like a "PLEASE, get the fuck out of way", but it isnt illegal if they dont. And we cant really speed, but we can get away with it if we dont take advantage of it.

  • Yeah Indiana states that we still have to follow the law with no speeding and still have to stop a intersections. However pending what county in Indiana they pretty much don't care. We are not declared Emergency vehicles and cannot use anything but Hide away strobes, high-beam wig-wags, and Blue lights. Wish they would change it but oh well.

  • we can only use blue lights, no HAW's or wigwags

  • What exactly is a "Hide-Away"?? I never quite got that...

  • sexy

  • nice set up that makes my light bar look so old and out dated

  • Hope you're not using that back amber section as an arrow stick. It's mounted a bit too low and far forward for that...

    Otherwise, I like it :P

  • Company? Looks very much like the new Slither II, either way, it is very nice!

  • I understand that you're a distibuter for LED Outfitters, but how are they to work with? Do they ship on time, is their website checkout area secure, etc.? Also, tell them that it's rather unprofessional to have miss-spelled words on a site where they're trying to sell stuff....lol

  • Could you make a video of all the flash patterns the bar has. I would like to see what they look like in blue, on your vehicle.

  • Well I have this light bar on my vehicle as a DEMO for sales and I use it for response as well being I am a volunteer firefighter.

  • I've never understood why anyone would want a light bar on their personal vehicle.

  • Think of it this way, why not?

  • 1) Makes you look like a wannabe cop 2) People may think your vehicle is a LE vehicle and key the hell out of it when it's parked in a parking lot or throw things at it when it's in your driveway.

  • Meh, those people are just jealous :).

  • No its just another person that wants to start some shit. It is clear that this dude has had some BAD past experiences. It is his opinion even though no one asked for it.

  • Did you get this light off of Speed Tech Lights? (it looks like the one on there STL K-Force 55")

  • I can see what you think about in your free time.

A light bar ensures safety when a Firefighter / Medic is responding to a scene. The light bar offers a 360 degree flash in which most interior setups will not. If you have a light bar just to impersonate a police officer, then you have no business being in the emergency services.

The light bar is a tool and an honor to have on your vehicle. When your life is in our hands... we cannot afford to endanger our own.

  • @AXEPEX What the fuck do you think the light bar is for? He's obviously a high ranked volunteer firefighter and has the permission to have a POV with a light bar on it. If he's not suppose to have it on there then he'll most likely get pulled over and issued a citation. If he is then he's using it to quickly respond to scenes. Mind your own god damn business and just admire the fucking light bar. His intentions are irrelevant in this footage. He's simply showing off a light bar.

  • You Noob... some states are reverse making the PD run Red and Fire run Blue... NJ makes there volunteers run Blue lights where Oklahoma won't let there volunteers have lights or sirens. Do your home work before you make an ass of yourself to the public

  • @ne219 as well as CT volunteers fire run Blue ems run green and police are red and blue

  • are you dumb?

  • what lightbar is that??

  • Illuminator Series from LED Outfitters. They do have a website

  • Hey dude,I have an 02 explorer too.Mine has a sunroof, and I was wondering if you could put a lightbar or not. Does yours have a sunroof? Thanks!

  • Give me a measurement of the width of the sunroof and does it stick above the roof when its open, if so how high. And then I can tell ya.
