Glanza vs Starlet GT

I was in a 250bhp glanza yesterday, with tdo4 turbo fully forged engine greddy managment etc. Dam it was unreal quick, i got a run in a 400bhp 200sx few weeks ago and id safetly say the glanza wud give it a run for its money cos the glanza only weighs 800kgs.

@skerr661 Off the mark, depending on who gets a better launch, it would be close till you reach the high numbers, but from a 40mph rolling start I believe the 180 will pull away. The gearing on the Nissan gives it very long legs and it will pull further in 3rd and 4th than the starlet will.

i always thought standard the gt turbo was faster then the glanza v....as the glanza had limited boost in 1st n 2nd gear and even with the uprated turbo from the GT the GT was stil faster....that right yeah?

You'll know it as a 240sx but its a JDM 180sx with an SR20DET. It has forged internals and a TD06-20g. So I'm aiming for around 400+ hp @ fly :) I am now into my drifting :) so its just really for track.

Not my style at all but still sounds good. I've never drifted before so I wouldn't know which cars are best for it. The 180sx looks best in red imo.

Difference is who would want to own a BMW when its well known that 90% of the owners are male appendages LOL... only having a laugh. It comes to insurance over here in the UK. Its cheaper to get cover on a Starlet then a BMW and with some money it can be as fast due to reduced weight.

Anyway, the White Glanza was my old car. My new toy makes most average road going cars look slow... Video's coming soon....

Do some research before saying im on drugs... JB3 chipped, catless downpipes and a dual cone air intake.... That has taken it over 400 bhp and is quicker than the new m3 in a straight line..... Go research it

Not "just" a 400 Doller chip then.... at the end of the day it'll always be a 335i BMW. The M3 has pedigree and will always be seen as the best of the 3 Series's line.

What time did you both do and how much power were you pushing?

I was running a 166hp@Fly proven figure. He was lower obviously. I believe that run was a mid 15.

My fastest I ran with the car at that stage was a 15.1

Change the turbo in the GT to a ct9 hybrid turbo and that glanza wudnt hav a hope in hell

This was simply a race between a mildly modded GT and a Mildy modded Glanza. Obviously tuning one more than the other will effect the outcome. Also, if your going to the hassle of buying a Hybrid, you might aswell buy a TD-04 as a hybrid can't flow above 220hp.

Which is quicker, a standard GT Turbo, or a standard Glanza V turbo? What are these like un-modded? Apart from from straight-line speed, how do they handle?

They are pretty much identical. The GTs are lighter but the GLanza's have a better Turbo so there is no zero difference. Handling wise, they use an old design rear axles but there are plenty of parts from Whiteline and the likes which improve their handling. A LSD in the box also makes takes away understeer etc.

No you can run up to 1Bar with the stock Turbo as long as you upgrade to Front Mounted Cooler and change the exhaust Manifold. These hold the car back.

WINWO0D, forging the engine isn't required until you are running much higher boost. adding around 4psi to the stock pressure is fine.

If you are refering to Wheel HP i don't actually know. The car was Dyno'd at 166hp at the Fly so taking 20% of drag off it so around 135 at the wheels I think.

graham starlet are wicked cars...and they r rly reliable and rly quick little rockets. get em tuned up by a good tuner and they will still be as reliable and trust me they can be made to beat evos and cossies with the right parts

Yeh, my friend had a starlet gtt and at the time was tuned to 188bhp, e cud beat evos and scoobys with no problems at all. his brother had one which was upto 245bhp! It doesnt look like im getting a glanza now, was just sorted out wat i was after to be imported but now am gettin a defender 90 for a bit of offroadin, but i know that i still want a starlet. What about a 294bhp tuned starlet...

Can both the glanza and starlet gtt be tuned just as much as each? Which is the better one to go for? Have been looking at new glanzas and j reg starlet gtts but still not sure which one to go for? Will it be ok to buy one thats been tuned or will it most likely mean its been ragged? And... last question, Are they realiable standard and once tuned to over 200 bhp? Anyone help..wb thanks

yea glanza and starlet capabilities are pretty much the same, i'd prefer a starlet tho, small amount bigger engine space, If you wanna add more boost then stock you really have to have the pistons forged
