Whats going on in the NBA is the same thing going on in the US economy. Think about this: The NBA is made up of a hand full superstars. (Superstars are players that play away games and fill seats i.e.Kobe,Dwayne,Lebron,Dirk) A bunch of stars (great players but not superstars) But the majority of the NBA is made up of average sub par players. The bargining agreement will benefit the average players most of all. But they want 57% of the revenue, if I was an owner I wouldnt be ok w/ that either.
If the athlete is a free-agent he is selling himself. not someone else. "Hired hands" are only slaves in that they may feel they are not being properly compensated for the efforts.

Whats going on in the NBA is the same thing going on in the US economy. Think about this: The NBA is made up of a hand full superstars. (Superstars are players that play away games and fill seats i.e.Kobe,Dwayne,Lebron,Dirk) A bunch of stars (great players but not superstars) But the majority of the NBA is made up of average sub par players. The bargining agreement will benefit the average players most of all. But they want 57% of the revenue, if I was an owner I wouldnt be ok w/ that either.

Yea, I see both sides of this issue. Gumbal did say that "one might cringe at the characterazation" but its kind of a similar situation at most jobs. I do know that the NBA does employ alot of African Americans to work for the NBA, and that is only right since African Americans make up the majortiy of the sport that I love. You cant forget that David Stern works for the OWNERS, so its expected that he is paid to work in the intrerst of the owners.
