you guys make this look so effortless and like it's the easiest thing ever! hehe i've just started rowing a few weeks ago and have mostly been learning in a coxless pair, finding it hard to find balance in the boat, there's so much movement in it!
I row in Pittsburgh and the weather and river this spring season has made practice on the water impossible. In my four we may have totaled about 5 hours of water time this year. Needless to say I'm losing my rowing morale. But every time I watch this video I get it right back, truly inspirational rowing. I'm a big fan.
its just fukn wicked boat im a kiwi and i admire that mens pair aswell as their olympic double and most aussie quads they know how to ge that crucial boat and make it look soo clean!
@blueduderanch they do have body swing its quite obvious that they do. They actuall have more body swing than most international crews. Body swing in some cases is overrated
Whoever said Bungees don't work is a plonk. Had the biggest bungee ever on my pair the other week! I mean seriously fucking huge, and we had to do 10k of paddling including 2 2km pieces at rates 24 and 26. Fuck me I felt so knackered, but when we took the bungee off, honest to god I've never felt a boat move so nice in my life it was incredible!
its called resistance training, i believe, they may have tennis balls attached to those bungees to make the load heavier so they can feel the boat better, and feel the load at the catch and all that good stuff...
When I used to row it was always singles or doubles. I'm not sure I would have faired well rowing pairs and probably couldn't adjust that well from sculling to rowing.
It's always a magical moment to see u race and compete against the rest of the world with ur partner...but unfortunately the german media doesn't transmit rowing by tv:( so please go on postig videos:)
I honestly never saw such a formidable, almost magically rowed pair like yours Mr. Ginn (with Tomkins)in St Catherines 1999. But when I see you train (ok. different partner, but still) I must say: You only cook with water! just like everybody else! Please take this comment as a compliment, your magic unfolds during the race, and that's good.
Sorry to Mr. Free, but he can't complain, he is World Champion '06 and '07 :).
you dont need to buy much just cut sme rope and a bit of garden hose and bam youve got a bungy. you can also do it with a bucket with large holes in it but that often puts alot of stain on the boats
thats a bungee or a tie, its wrapped around the bottom of the shell at both postitions for an exercise called power strokes. Well thats we what we do anyway.

Looks so easy, the way you apply the legs and swing to the final is so fast. The boat is always asking for more and more. Great job.
