@ponytailgirl1 Unless the parents are show dogs with papers.They aren't very expensive. If you buy maltese puppies where the parents are showdogs and purebred certified with papers included. It would be $1,000+. That's where they make profit! Most private breeders are just the mom and pop with 2 dogs of the same breed. They will sell between $350-$500.It is the law to include microchipping, vet check & vaccinations. That is expensive! In the end they only make very little profit. Maybe only $100
We just had 3 Maltese puppies and they are just as adorable as this little girl. Now riddle me this! Why is it that I can't seem to get rid of them? I take them to the stores with my wife and kids and people just swoon over them. One lady even started crying because they were so cute. But, when it comes time to the exchange, nobody is truly serious about taking it. They all just say, "I've always wanted one" . or. "Can I PLEASE have your number so I can call you about it. I want it so badly!"
@izmodyie You should put a classified up on craigslist. Make sure you include the actual picture of the puppies. They Will go very quick. Also make sure you don't put the price too high. Search for maltese puppies in craigslist in your area and you would find a good pricepoint to start. If you see alot of people advertising $400. You should maybe advertise $370 or $350 if you know what i mean.
@ponytailgirl1 I agree with you about adopting from a shelter. Also the only good breeders are the reputable ones who breed for correct conformation, health and temperament and show their dogs at the professional dog shows.
@lilloohoo i know people always say that, and i bought from a good breeder myself...... but the puppies at pet shops/puppy mills are sooooo sad...... =(

DON'T BUY PUPPIES FROM PET SHOPS!! They support puppy mills. Buy from private breeders where you can meet the parents OR adopt a dog!
