He was one of the greatest opera singer not the only one. but I agree that he brought opera to people that never go to opera and he made them to become interested in opera and listen to it. We know that most of opera singer in US are from other countries like Italy, south America, Middle Eastern,.... but it is unfortune that we never hear other operas as much as Italian opera..
