Pax et Bonum Marzio my Franciscan brother. Thank you for the videos which detail the virtues of humility and service to our Lord, and the inspiring life of St. Francis.
wow, i never knew that about him. I mean, what I've read about him talking to bugs makes me think he was a real nutcase at first, but seriously, his was a radical, complete, and full love for God, and all His creation, even death. Everyone can benefit from emulating this great saint!
That is what many find out once they get to know Francis...he really was radical then, and even today. Can you imagine actually living the Gospel...not just saying it but living it? I think Mother Theresa is the only other person who did that. He saw and felt God in all creation, so everything was holy, including sister death. His humility was incredible. He used to say each morning "let us begin again, for until now we have done nothing".
So many people fear death. Let's live our lives so that we will welcome "sister death" when it comes, knowing we will be rewarded for our efforts and faith and love towards each other. As mapollo explains, through the words of St Francis, " Blessed are those whom death will find in Your most holy will..." Thanks Marzio, for your videos to help us understand and to live this Lent. You inspire me.
Beautiful...what a role model to follow...He set the bar very high....Francis is with Jesus..isn't that the most loveliest thought..so many great men and woman have gone before us and as it says in Colossians.."they are cheering us from the ramparts of heaven!"
I also like St. Therese...of Liseaux..for she taught the "little way" I can do that...
Here in El Salvador, this devotion has been laid apart somehow; I know about it because my mother belongs to the Third Minor Order(I don't know if I translated it correctly),whose members are all lay people; they take some vows and should wear a crucifix. How is it like to belong to the Franciscan Minor orders in your country?
I would also like to add, if anyone wants to hear this video in stereo, which sounds beautiful, just go to the url at the top of the computer, and add the following letters to the url of this video, &fmt=18 the video will restart in stereo.
Wow, a beautiful video Marzio! I just got home from work, which started at 4am, and turned on my computer with a cup of coffee. When I saw this and realized today is the third, I was filled with joy. By accident, I was reading yesterday how St Francis apologized to his body right before he died for being so "hard on it" during his life. Thanks Marzio for teaching me what I needed in my life, and for your prayers.
I am just beginning to learn about St. Francis of Assisi. It appears he had so much Faith that not even death could bring fear to him. Wow. Looking forward to the next video.
Our community does a Transitus of St. Therese of Lisieux on the eve of her feast. Beautiful video!!! Keep it up!

It would be wonderful to participate in it. Perhaps a good topic for a video? :)
Thanks again for your kind words and encouragement...

I remember the famous words from one of our formator in the seminary, He always say that "Once a Franciscan is always a Franciscan" and he is right.

that's such a great saying ... a lot like Blessed Mother Teresa's - "Yesterday is gone, tomorrow has not yet come, we have only today, let us begin."

Wow...it is. But then they were both full of the same Holy Spirit.

Steve, I am abashed by your words.
I like your phrase "to live this Lent". That is what Lent is about. To live in Christ because He is life.

I was intrigued as well. It seems we (SFO) observe it at sundown on the 3rd and continues on to the next day.
A blessed and spiritual feast day. Thank you.
