  • I personally think the horse with his ears "pinned" was telling the horse behind him to get out of his space, if he wanted the cat out of there, he would have been much clearer.

  • Horse and cats cute! Barbed wire dangerous...

  • OMG that cat looks like my cat Zoe! And that horse looks like my favorite horse Duke! (wierd)

  • Yeah I think the horse was just trying to rub his head on the cat and obviously the cat can't hold his weight! if the cat was afraid he would have been out of there!! They seem to do this a lot!

  • Please, if you love your horse - get rid of the barbed wire, before they get hurt. Just google image search "horse barbed wire" and see what can happen.

Also, very cute critters you got there :) Enjoy them!

  • so cute :)

  • That's a cool video. Unfortunately, you get a lot of 'experts' on the internet who tell you otherwise. :I

  • why is there such a strange connection between cats and horses?? beautiful to witness though :)

  • lol makes me laugh they are your animals if you want them to mix then you can, if something happens it happens jeez some people are just out to point fingers and moan just because they nothing else to do........... but like I said @rhofford they are your animals they bound to mix cats like the out doors and horses well..... they have to live outside at time to time

Btw beautiful horses and kitty cats :D

  • did you all not notice the horse behind the horse playing with the cat...he was sending the horse behind him a message to stay away because it was his game...he's talking to the horse behind him and enjoying every minute with the cat...duh

  • I think the horse and cats are just fine. no harm and either could have left at any time. I used to have a cat who would sleep on my horses back in the Winter time in the barn. All the barn animals would snuggle together, a cat, dog, rooster, duck, sheep and horse.

  • I see no angry ears! I see playful ears! My horses do the same thing. If they didn't want the cats there, then the cats wouldn't be there. Besides, what animal do you know of rubs it's face on you when angry?

  • This is so sweet, my two favorite animals.

  • marvellous

  • Very cute, but how about that barbed wire? Isn't that dangerous for the horses? I'm just askin'...

  • What does it matter if the horse/cat is agitated or not?

As I type this my cat is probably eating an insect right now. The insects antennas are CLEARLY agitated. Hmm, maybe I should be concerned and separate the two?

It's stupid really. If the cat get's hurt, it's the cat's fault, not the owners. I doubt it's the owner's responsibility to check up on the horse every 15 seconds to make sure some animal doesn't get "agitated".

    It's unrealistic and arbitrary.

Let's move on and watch some kittens

  • That horse was playing with the cat.....all it would have to do is give the cat a well placed bite, and it's all over for the Halloween kitty. Unlike the cat, the horse is a vegetarian!

  • cute video! stop bickering posters!!

  • My cat would stick a claw in that horse!

  • Lol at how the only slightly aggressive expression from the horse was for less than a second, the rest was just there natural expression...

I love how the horse is like "Cat!" and just shoves it about to take the mickey and the cat is like "here we go again!" hehee so funny <3 xx

  • well.......im not an expert! period.

  • beautiful horses

  • I don't know what y'all are getting all worked up about, my horse plays with that cats all the time. She rubs and chases and tries to push them off the fence as well, but obviously if the cats were afraid they wouldn't come near her. And by the way I'm pretty sure this guy knows a lot more about his horses, considering they're HIS so lay off.

  • your horse is very very cute

  • OMG...Who are some of these people? Do they really "know" horses? If they did, they would realize that these horses were not upset at all with the cats. The ears are not pinned back either. If you don't know what you are talking about, don't post in an accusing manner. Why don't you put your statement in the form of a question so people will answer you nicely, and you might learn something.

Just so you know I know what I am talking about, I have been around horse since before I could walk.

  • 0:30 that horse's ears are so far back, the gingery cuteness is so evil. I mean, look at him terrorizing those cats! haha cute horses ;)

  • OMG city people city people....gilraen690...ya need to learn a thing or 2 before ya pop off...the video is funny...horse is like you're in my way cat, cat obviously doesn't mind being roughed up cuz he is still hanging around...and yeah I don't care if the person pushed pulled or popped his horse for chewing...I don't take that crap from my horses either...it's bad for them and bad for the fence, slap a horse on the ass for it so what.

  • @MariesaIsbell Slap a horse on the ass for it, sure, I wouldn't mind that either, but you never hit a horse in the face (only stupid, inexperienced, scared horse handlers do that, and I happen to be neither). I've worked with a lot of abused horses and the ingrained instincts you see in horses that have been hit a lot in the face are heartbreaking. That's why I'm so against the face. As it was, he never hit his horse at all, so this is all irrelevant.

    =)

  • Your horses is so fuzzy :D And lol at the cat clinging on for dear life while the horse whacks him

  • 1:02 haha.

  • Very nice! Cats and horses are both very independent, so they have a lot in common.

And both animals are much more interesting than dogs any day!

  • at the end the black cat is like sniff my butt

  • haha. "get off mah fence kitteh"

  • how cute

  • horse is thinking, get off my post man. its for me. cats are like, hey, i want to get on it also.

  • horse is saying like get away from me, leave me alone. , hey thats my poll cat.

its good.cat is like, i just want to talk to you.

  • LMTO! The cat was like, " ' You AIN' T goin' to knock me off that easy, you big Ungulate! HAH!! ' "

  • @wolf101085 Points for using the word 'ungulate' in a sentence!

  • hahaha I lol at how the whole time the cats are getting knocked over they're so unaffected and their eyes are just like (o_o)

  • Both cat and horse were perfectly content witht he situation.

  • For those people who do not know horses, his ears are not pinned back. El Nino is my baby and I grew up with him. His ears are tilted back as he is listening to noises behind him.

Before people critique animals (aka Miami..), maybe they should learn more about their signals and what they mean. If El Nino was mad at the cat he would have bit it, not playfully pushed it and such.

Last time I checked, the word hostile meant aggresive and El Nino is the least aggresive.

  • Horses also lay their ears back when they are relaxed. I own 12, and was raised with them as well. Not BY them, just with them :) If it wanted to bite the cat it would have, and if it did not like the cat, the cat would have realized that looooong ago.

PPl like Miami should just enjoy the cuteness for pete's sake.

  • @signinspissmeoff

I agree with you, otherwise it should mean that a horse who is being ridden with the ears bent to the back is always agitated, but they are relaxed and pay attention to the rider...

  • Hey, he just wanted to pet the kitty but horses gots no hands :D

  • ummm... omg his ears are way back!!!! thanks for the info horse whisperer

  • @rhofford hahaha

  • @rhofford lol yeah I didn't see anything wrong here. She wouldn't be rubbing her face on the cat if she didn't like him/her. And horses pin their ears at one another all the time. Her eyes were calm and soft, so she was prolly telling kitty hey I like you but if you scratch my nose I will cut you. ^^

  • @rhofford Yeah, they're not playing. The horse's ears are pinned and its clearly agitated by the cat being in it's face.

  • @outrageouslycrazy1 wow... another horse whisperer in the mix. Thanks for letting me know how to deal with the horses Ive been around my 10 plus years. With lingo like "ears are pinned" you must know what your talking about. Would you be able to come to my farm and give me some lessons in horse etiquette? I dont know what I would do with out the all the geniuses on youtube.

  • @rhofford All I can see is the horse and the cat enjoying eachother. The cat is obviously not afraid of the horse or concerned with how the horse is treating it. How so you may ask? The cat stays there and keeps letting the horse do whatever. Cat does not smack horse or puff up. This means the cat is enjoying the enteraction. The horse obviously enjoys rubbing the cat with it's head

  • @rhofford Oh ok, nobody try to tell the horse expert anything. He's been around his horse for 10 years, to there is just no way he could be wrong about anything that has to do with the horse.

Anyway, clearly the horse can walk away if it want to be there, and the cats can do the same. They seem to get along fine, and even if they bother each other, it's in a harmless way. The cats didn't bother to move an inch, when the horse was pushing it, so they are clearly used to each other.

  • @realisticHomeboy i didnt say im a horse expert i just said ive known these horses for a majority of their life and i know about how they react. Apparently there are a lot of horse experts on here....

  • @rhofford Interesting animals. My cat used to rub up against my horses face until the horse bit its leg and pulled it off the fence. Cat didn't try anymore after that. Tho it would rub up against the dogs legs and smack the dog if he started to look too interested. Animals are weird huh!?

  • his ears are not pinned. I think you need to look more into equine behavior.

  • @MiamiIndianTribe No. It is actually listening to the other horses in the background. The horse would be rolling it's eyes and whinnying if it was angry AND the cats would know if it was angry or not. Animals COMMUNICATE to tell whether the other animal is in a good mood or a bad mood.

  • @MiamiIndianTribe yes they where back where they completkly back in a angry way no... stop trolling. Just say aawh cute 'cause it is! not every video has to be critized and then instructed what they should have done...

  • I love the other horse waiting patiently for his rubs

  • I have petted cats and I have petted horses, but it never occurred to me that a horse and cat might pet one another.

Gee, horses are kind of too big for me to be perfectly comfortable -- remarkable that a cat can interact with a horse at all, even with technological intervention (the fencepost).

  • lol i dont think that horse was playing, i think it really wanted that cat to get the hell off his post..lol, very cute

  • @pinkfox253 If the cat did not approve of what was going on they would smack teh horse and leave.

  • awesome!

  • Tough cat.

  • Fantastyczne! :DDD

  • Neato! Nice job for getting that unusual interaction on camera!

  • Don't slap your horses for chewing wood asshole.

  • Hehe, I've never before seen horses so hostile to kittens. My cat used to sleep on my horse's back, the horse didn't mind at all. Now here's rubbing and pushing and knocking over and squeershing. Bad!

Also, don't slap your horses when they chew wood. Tell them off consistently, and they will stop. No slapping, especially not in the face. The face is holy. When a horse gets "face-scared" the road back is very, very long and hard.

    What breed are your ponies?

  • I didnt slap her for chewing the post.. I just walked up to her, she backed off right away cuz she knows better.

They are quarter horses, ginger is a mare, the other horse (el nino) is her gelding.

  • Ah, there was a slapping sound, I thought that was you.

Probably just a twig snapping or something, then!

  • or just static from moving the camera so fast in the wind.

  • @rhofford Oh :D

They're cute : ) I obviously didn't see what you did to make her back away as the camera wasn't pointing towards there. Just the sounds and I made assumptions!

  • @gilraen690 The horse is not being hostile to the cats. The cats are not concerned at all as the black one keeps hanging around. Towards the end the cat is headbutting the horse and the horse appear to have a laughing face. The black cat and the horse seem to really enjoy eachothers company.

  • @Robbob9933 "APPEAR TO HAVE A LAUGHING FACE"?!

Where in the widest of worlds did your skills in reading horses' body language come from?

  • @Robbob9933 I was at Busch Gardens in Tampa a few years ago and they had a couple Clydsdale colts just starting to graze. One pulled up a clump of grass with roots and dirt included. All the adults in the corral gave it the same stretched out neck with partially open mouth that this horse did when the cat started headbutting. It just seemed like all the adults were laughingh at the colt.

  • Adorable!

  • Congrats on getting this to cheezburger!

  • what really?? link?

  • Where have you been all my life, horse & cat videos? i'd give this five stars if five stars still existed.
