It is impossible to say exactly but generally a bigger tank with good filtration wll result in faster growth. If your tank is less than 4' long I wouldn't bother getting any.
@pondguru oh, i thought you were here in canada, theres two towns near me in ontario that are right beside eachother named newcastle and northumberland, but if im ever in england, ill be sure to check you guys out :D
can i have all these fish in a 63 litre tank 4 rummy nose tetras 5 lemon teyras 2 clown loaches 2 borneo sucker loach 2 silver sharks 4 harlequin rasbora
I just did. I didn't notice it when I looked at your channel before, as there was only one upload showing. Your water is super clear - it looked like the fish were swimming in mid-air. Nice.
When they get big, yes they are known to eat small neons etc. This should be mentioned along with the potential adult size upon asking about them :) To say "DON'T BUY THESE FISH" is harsh when you don't even know what the potential buyers tank size and stock is!!
They don't tend to vary in colour much so I would keep an eye on it. If the fins begin to look eroded or redden then treat with anti bacterial and anti fingal treatment e.g. melafix and pimafix which can be used together. could just be a pale colour variant, stressed etc. etc.
Pondguru, I bought my bala shark when he was 3" in two years he's grown to be 7" now and still growing fast I 'am always asked by everyone "what the hell do you feed him?" Shrimp I feed him Shrimp I tell them he's in a 40 gal tank now but Im upgrading to 80 gal now he's got some new tank mates and he's looking too small in the 40gal
We ordered them through a wholesaler from London, but we have recently started direct imports and the first shipment was excellent. The choice of fish in our shop, whilst already great, should get even better.
their bala sharks you can get them at any petsmart

I think that the silver sharks will quickly outgrow a 63 litre tank. The others are fine, though.

Absolutely right. Just because someone can't meet the requirements of a fish, dosen't mean others are unable to as well.

what length are they now
scottylad79 2 years ago
I've no idea. We sell them at between 4"-5" and they are never in the tanks long enough to watch them grow.

Good to see some sense with upgrading the tank. Its a long term commitment getting larger fish wjich some people couldn't hack.
I personally prefer smaller species like tetras, rasboras etc to have in shoals in a well planted tank.
pondguru 2 years ago
They also eat small children and dogs
