Im a beginning longboarder, i was looking for a board thats not too long but would still be stable for downhillls. Can anyone recommemd a board by original and if you can, recomend trucks/wheels. I just want to go downhillsand cruise around on a stable yet fast board.
i have a drop threw downhill board with 72 mm 78 a wheels....how do suggest i stop when going fast? should i buy slide wheels, and if so do you sell them?...please respond back...thank you
First make sure to always wear a helmet. You can slow down by eaither footbreaking or sliding. Search about for " Landyachtz Longboards - Get Safe " for a great video on speed control and how to stop.
First I would like to congratulate you for the video because it is a really well made one. My name is Carolina Sobrino and Im an M5 student which is going to create a video tutorial on longboarding for my MYP Personal Project. I would like to know if it wasnt a problem that byany chance you could contact me to give me tips on the creating of a video. Thank you.
@lucas40684068 You should get the chinook landyachtz because it is like the evo but if your going to ride the evo around you will find it scratching up against cribs all the time while the chinook is a bit higher. I have the chinook.
@lucas40684068 Do you find your feet extremely uncomfortable over W concave boards?
The Evo will be harder to turn if you're into a more town like area, and if you are the Earthwing will be your best bet. My favourite board out of all of those would probably be the Landyachtz Evo.
And if you're wondering about setups... 44Degree Calibers, BigZigs (Or FlyWheels) Bones Reds (Or super reds) and if you're feeling fancy go ahead a buy some Venom Bushings, best ride ever.
the setup i want is the rayne avenger, paris 180s, bones super reds and pink big zigs, with 1/8 shock pads, and i ws wondering if i would get wheel bite with the big zigs? or should i just get zig zags?
@IamTeHe Stiffer boards hold there speed better going downhill, there usually lower to the ground, meaning more stability. Flexy boards are not really worse for DH but just not as stable. Flexy Boards are usually used for Cruising,Carving,Dancing. Also a bit of Free Ride depending what board/trucks/wheels.
Sooooo, what is the best bearings? And heres my set up Sector nine Bert Pintail Deck, Gullwing Mission 9" Trucks, 61MM 78A Ts 9ball wheels, 1.25 inch bolt set and Cosmic bearings.
You said the demonseed had the least traction, and then you said it has pretty good traction. Im looking to get one of these from you. Does the board suck? Im all speed downhill
I have the Sector 9 Carbonite (not double platinum) with Paris 180mm trucks, Sector 9 78a 76mm goddess of speed wheels, Sector 9 platinum abec 9 bearings, and some soft bushings. I put some riser pads on the topside of the board to bring the deck even closer to the ground and it stands 9 cm above the ground. I really like downhill boarding, and I can get up to some fast speeds, but what can I do to improve it for some great downhill but also equally amazing freeride?
im not new to longboarding, but im new to DH, i got a rayne vendetta for freeride and i wanna go to more intense speed, 60kmh and maybe more after, since his my first downhill deck i should go with a top mounted or a drop, i was thinking about the evo with randal II , 35 in front, 50 in back, classic set up with monster hawgs wheels, but some people telled me a top mounted is better and turn better too, i was thinking about the wolfshark with randal II, and abec zig zag classic, what should ido?
do any of you have any experience with the early bomb..it looks very similar to the evo but i was wondering if they actually were roughly the same because there doesn't seem to be much differnce
So if you put 42* baseplate trucks on the evo, what how does that effect it? is it like overkill on the wedge and dewedge? what angle baseplates would you recomend for an evo?
Hey I have a question about longboard trucks (not kingpin). I have one truck that is massivley longer than the other, and I am not sure wether i should put it at the front or the back of the board..... the board is a pintail and i'm just into cruising no downhill. PLEASE ANSWER! thanks.
why are you talkin shit about the evo. thats the greatest down hill board currently on the market. it has won more downhill races in the past 5 years than any other board. thats probably the greatest board you showed!
is a landyachtz switch good for DH? and does anybody know how to avoid wheelbite? 2 of my friends just broke their arm after getting it, now im kinda paranoid of gettin it
So I just started longboarding and after a bit of research I think I've come up with a decent set up. I already have an S9 Burliegh everything stock and what I think I'm gonna do is upgrade the trucks to Paris 180s, the bearings to Bones ceramic super Reds, and the wheels to either 70mm 4Pres Otangs or 75mm InHeat Otangs.
I'm mostly gonna just use this to commute and probably some downhill. Is this all a decent set up and which type of wheel should i choose - the In Heats or the 4Prez ? (: thnx
sounds like a great setup man, i would try and find out if you would get wheel bite with 75mm wheels, if you do go for the 4prez if not go for the in heats :)
@KeKeKeilan Get a better deck before bearings like that and paris arent for dh get calibers for dh wheels venom and for bearings bones original swiss trust me
@Powaslide Fail. I made that comment 5 MONTHS ago. I have an LBL DK penguin now for freeride, with Indeesz precision trucks and Cult classic wheels. My bearings are Seismic Tektons which are only worth $30 because of their built in speed rings and spacers which I find convenient, unlike bones swiss which have no good reason to be worth $50. Bearings are bearings..they spin and nothing makes a $60 bearing better than a $5 one. For DH I would get a jati ninjati on Surf rodz RKPs. trust me...
@ReganToonz Since you are young, Rayne boards are too stiff for you if your around 100lbs. I recommend getting the loaded dervish if you got the cash but if not, get the rayne vendetta and gain some weight or wear out the flex by abusing it.
@Fortune2point0 Flexy boards are a good way to go if you are lightweight based on my experience. :)) Stiff boards make your ride bumpy and and hard to maneuver but then again, the set up also depends. If he going light dh and a little commuting, vendetta for sure. But if he's got all flats, dervish is a wee little better choice. Dervish has no barely any concave which makes it less favorable to me, and the spray on grip wears down to fast... The Vendetta graphic is pure WIN. My choice - Vendetta
@eljaytomas123 I'm only 135lbs, I prefer stiff boards for everything, including just cruising. If you're doing DH, stiff boards are almost required. Flexier boards are harder to maneuver (force isn't applied to your trucks as directly, the flex absorbs some of the input).
I am going to get an Evo, and I want it set up with Nersh Money Hax. I need a truck that will be stable on that board, I will only be doing pre-drift and speed check slides. The problem comes when you consider I am 225 lbs. What are some options for a good solid downhilling truck for that set-up. I already have some Bear Grizzly 1080's. Thanks for the help. George.
i have 300-350$ for a new longboard but i dont know what i should get :s they're so much kind... i mainly do downhill but i would like to have a small deck with flexibility
HELP ME! (sorry for my english im not really good x)) thank you!
what set up would you sugest for an evo. My first idea was 195mm paris hanger on 42 randal front and 50 back with centrax or in heats. I want a board that will be very stable but a bit drifty since i dont perfectly own my toe side predrift. anything to suggest?
sounds like a great setup, I would stay away from the 195 hangars on the evo though. Narrow hangars definitely work best on that board. Centrax will not be great for drifting either, I woud recommend something like the 76mm centerset 82a race formula wheels.
@crustycrabbro the nemesis kicks the crap out of the switch. it is a bit lighter, but for the extra money it is a better board, better quality (landyachtz is still great quality)
@superguy6486 it tapers by half an inch at the back, so that the front is 10 inches, and the back is 9.5, you can't tell glancing at it or seeing it form far away, but you can really feel it under your feet. To be honest I hated how it wasn't symmetrical.
@superguy6486 Aha it's all good. I really recommend figuring out which is the wider side, and trying to keep that facing front. you'll probably start to notice it feels different on each end as you get used to it.
@AllThingsGuitar I just took a tape measure to mine n it tapers down in the middle by 1/8 inch, but otherwise is exactly 10 inches across the whole deck...
@superguy6486 Wait, what model do you have? I forgot that the latest run of Dseeds are symmetrical, if yours has the panda on it, forget what I said, the older models are Asym. though.
Is it worth to have a Killswitch Dropthru even if we have an Avenger or should I get a Nemesis (instead of the Killswitch) ? I plan to DH/Freeride and I'm 6' tall (I dont want something too small for me) ...
@Fronlax I'd avoid companies like that, they're really cheap and you're most likely gonna have to buy a new one if you stick with longboarding, what kind of a board are you looking for?
looking for a board specific for bombing hills, whats most recommended board? mainly steep long hills, the one i have now is bouncy with loose trucks and gives me speed wobbles at like 10mph. not liking it at all
@xcdis look at rayne, comet, earthwing and landyachtz for some popular dh boards. If you really want to get something specific to your needs though, and you can't find one on those sites, I highly recommend visiting silverfish longboarding, research will save you A LOT of money, and you'll honestly find a board you're way happier with if you put the time into it.
hey yeah, i wanna start longboarding, but idk what board to get. I think ill like downboard and like slide? what should i get... also i dont want to pay more than $200-ish..
@mrPACarrier bigzigs are grippier but in heats are more predictable in drifts, however the abec11 centrax are grippier than the bigzigs.. all on preference
Dear Motion, I currently ride a Hybrid 35 by Original and I'm looking into a good down hill board with drop down, but I may also be taking it on 2-10mile trips. I was looking at the Evo, but I heard in the video it'd be a pain to push around. Any suggestions?
Ok, thats the story: I have a Rayne Avenger, and I'll buy a new board. I want a freeriding and downhill board in Rayne. I hesitate beetween the Nemesis or the Demonseed. The problem is that I want a drop-thru board that is a little bit longuer then my Avenger (wich I loove), to try something different. Peoples says to me to buy the Nemesis but his board has the same characteristics then the Avenger: same size, top-mounted etc. So is it worth to buy the Demonseed or the shoul I get the Nemesis ?
I have a longboard pintail 42 , Bearings: ABEC7 , trucks: 7" heavy duty aluminum. Allen head kingpin. 6 & 4 hole design. 12mm riser pad. and my wheels are blue cruiser 71MM 80A. I'm still a beginer and i buy this deck for practicing because i want to do downhill someday, my only question is, what do yo think about my deck or can you tell me something that could actually help me , some piece of advice?
I am new to longboarding, i want to get an evo but i need some help on what wheels/trucks i need. I have ridden before and i prefer a stiff and grip like feel but i want to be able to carve a little bit. Please help i just want to ride ASAP.
im new to longboarding im looking for a board to get and i kinda like the way the dervish looks or the apex 37 but i have no idea what to get that wont cost to much im open to any board those were just some boards i thought were good anyways good video please help me pick a board :P
And if you set up a complete right it won't totaly break the bank either.
On my Nemesis i'm currently rockin bear 852's with the hanger flipped and Orangatang In heats and super reds bearings. It was pretty pricey but you get what you pay for, plus I love the way the in heats slide when they are broken in haha, even though they're over priced.
So with a budget in mind you can set it up good with a few dollars left in your pocket.
Hey, I am looking for a board that I can trust going at high speeds. I also want to be ably to be able to make reasonably tight turns on. My limit is about under 300$. What board should I get?
if i want to do DH and commuting
Landyachtz killswitch ?
or
Landyachts switch
mclucky1029 1 week ago
@mclucky1029 well depending on how tall you are i would recommend a Black Dog: Beaver its 37" and is great for both down hill and cruising

Landyachtz Switch. The W concave in the Killswitch will become unpleasant over long commutes.

The problem comes when you consider I am 225 lbs. What are some options for a good solid downhilling truck for that set-up. I already have some Bear Grizzly 1080's. Thanks for the help. George.
ShorelineMBX 11 months ago
@ShorelineMBX 35* Randal DH's (the 35* 160mm ones). The Evo is designed around those trucks.

what set up would you sugest for an evo. My first idea was 195mm paris hanger on 42 randal front and 50 back with centrax or in heats. I want a board that will be very stable but a bit drifty since i dont perfectly own my toe side predrift. anything to suggest?

chaaarest 11 months ago
@chaaarest
sounds like a great setup, I would stay away from the 195 hangars on the evo though. Narrow hangars definitely work best on that board. Centrax will not be great for drifting either, I woud recommend something like the 76mm centerset 82a race formula wheels.

how light is the nemesis? and compared to the switch is it a lot lighter?
crustycrabbro 1 year ago
@crustycrabbro the nemesis kicks the crap out of the switch. it is a bit lighter, but for the extra money it is a better board, better quality (landyachtz is still great quality)
lakai958 1 year ago
@crustycrabbro its alot lighter, but me i have a switch and i ride sometimes my friends nemesis and i prefer the drop and concave of the switch.
but the nemesis is an awesome board

is the demonseed not semetrical??
superguy6486 1 year ago
@superguy6486 it tapers by half an inch at the back, so that the front is 10 inches, and the back is 9.5, you can't tell glancing at it or seeing it form far away, but you can really feel it under your feet. To be honest I hated how it wasn't symmetrical.
AllThingsGuitar 1 year ago
@AllThingsGuitar i never noticed.... i'm a downhill newbie though so i couldn't tell...
superguy6486 1 year ago
@superguy6486 Aha it's all good. I really recommend figuring out which is the wider side, and trying to keep that facing front. you'll probably start to notice it feels different on each end as you get used to it.
AllThingsGuitar 1 year ago
@AllThingsGuitar I just took a tape measure to mine n it tapers down in the middle by 1/8 inch, but otherwise is exactly 10 inches across the whole deck...
superguy6486 1 year ago
@superguy6486 Wait, what model do you have? I forgot that the latest run of Dseeds are symmetrical, if yours has the panda on it, forget what I said, the older models are Asym. though.
AllThingsGuitar 1 year ago
@AllThingsGuitar I got one of the last ones before the panda, but it is semetrical

Are Element Longboards good?
Fronlax 1 year ago
@Fronlax i think the longboards element makes are just cruisers. sidewalk surfing type of boards.
jumblejamsam992 1 year ago
@Fronlax I'd avoid companies like that, they're really cheap and you're most likely gonna have to buy a new one if you stick with longboarding, what kind of a board are you looking for?

looking for a board specific for bombing hills, whats most recommended board? mainly steep long hills, the one i have now is bouncy with loose trucks and gives me speed wobbles at like 10mph. not liking it at all
xcdis 1 year ago
@xcdis definetly go with the evo
dvsc4000 1 year ago
@xcdis look at rayne, comet, earthwing and landyachtz for some popular dh boards. If you really want to get something specific to your needs though, and you can't find one on those sites, I highly recommend visiting silverfish longboarding, research will save you A LOT of money, and you'll honestly find a board you're way happier with if you put the time into it.

Two questions:
What is the name of the board with red wheels on the left side and what kind of wheels are those?

@jj82796 i think it's an old dh race, and i think the wheels are the old speedvents

What is the best wheel for DH beetween 80a In Heats 75mm and 80a Bigzigs 75mm ?
mrPACarrier 1 year ago
@mrPACarrier bigzigs are grippier but in heats are more predictable in drifts, however the abec11 centrax are grippier than the bigzigs.. all on preference

ATTENTION ALL SKATERS!!
1.) GO OUT AND BUY A CRAP LOAD OF SMALL STICKERS WITH THE LETTER "G" ON THEM (you can get them at home depot)
2.)WHEN YOU SEE A SIGN THAT SAYS "NO SKATEBOARDING", PUT THE G STICKER OVER THE "N" SO IT SAYS "GO SKATEBOARDING"
3.) REPOST THIS ON AS MANY VIDEOS AS YOU CAN SO PEOPLE GET THE IDEA

Dear Motion, I currently ride a Hybrid 35 by Original and I'm looking into a good down hill board with drop down, but I may also be taking it on 2-10mile trips. I was looking at the Evo, but I heard in the video it'd be a pain to push around. Any suggestions?
Thanks alot,

Ok, thats the story: I have a Rayne Avenger, and I'll buy a new board. I want a freeriding and downhill board in Rayne. I hesitate beetween the Nemesis or the Demonseed. The problem is that I want a drop-thru board that is a little bit longuer then my Avenger (wich I loove), to try something different. Peoples says to me to buy the Nemesis but his board has the same characteristics then the Avenger: same size, top-mounted etc. So is it worth to buy the Demonseed or the shoul I get the Nemesis ?
mrPACarrier 1 year ago
im all for downhilling. but then youve got to go back up it. and i dont like that.

i just ordered the new demonseed, and i am wondering if 70mm 4prez would be to small if i was going to dropthough mount the trucks?
LPdannyLP 1 year ago

Please help i just want to ride ASAP.

i am looking for a drop down complete that wont completely reck my wallet what would you recommend??
sKiDuDe900 1 year ago
@sKiDuDe900 The Nemesis is amazing!
So with a budget in mind you can set it up good with a few dollars left in your pocket.
good luck!
