indeed and so on,the entire game had mediocre and mild music,but when i reached this level my jaw dropped.this genesis sharpness works damn well in this particular song and this happend with some other games to,like thunderforce and others where it outdated arcade with a neckshot while arcade was the superior.i can name some more shy arcade ports on genesis and elsewhere that had better music.Final fight cd is a great example.mediocre game wich is killer for its music.

I agree about modern games. Often there plots are so convoluted and complicated and if I want that shit I'll go to the movies. Here you get simply an epic good vs evil battle that sparks the imagination in a way in which hollywood scripts could never.

@jasumirp Golden Axe was about as mainstream as it got back in the day. Pretty much everyone I know owned Golden Axe.

It's true a lot of games have focused a lot on realism & real music tracks since then (i.e. Not original 'gaming' music). It is changing though, the WiiWare Games have plenty of original catchy themes
