waay too bouncy on the trot and yes you could have let your elbows out and your topline on your horse could have been better too but other than that good job :)
WAYYYYYYYY TOO BOUNCY AT THE TROT!!! And your elbows are too tucked in...Too much exaduration of the leg movements lope was ok though other than your legs being too far behind you...
Thank you for the input, however, it goes against what I was taught. My elbows are supposed to be tucked in night against my side, my legs are supposed to be that far back. Yes, I was too bouncy at the trot, but that is my horse's long trot... Thank you for taking the time to comment.
@jessica13100 When you get to be a more advanced rider, eventually the seat comes to you. But the thing that helps the most is putting your heels down, sitting deep on your pockets, and moving your hips with the horse.
This is of last years Stock Show? I am going this year and showing my mare in the same division, have any tips for the newbies of the big ring showing? I'v done a lot of smaller shows, and will be doing Fall Charity the weekend after Labor Day. By the way your horse is very beautiful!
Thank you very much! Just go in like you are the best horse and rider team there! Confidence shows. You guys will do great! Come find me there, I would love to meet you! What is your horse's name?
yupp my horse's name is Im A Rodeo Man...i'm sure you haven't heard of us, this is our first year showing APHA really hard and hauling..i wanted to start a few years ago but he got really sick..and i waited it out with him because i just really thought he was special and extremely talented..haha...
Aww, that sounds special! May I ask what happened to you? I wish you the best to you and your horse! I hope we cross paths sometime and have a chance to meet!
Awesome pattern horse- he looks really light and responsive. Just wondering if the pattern called for an extended jog/trot or if that's his natural speed. Nice to see a horse moving freely and not gimping around like some of the pleasure horses...
(sorry, the mouse clicked before I meant for it to, lol) It's amazing that all of the work and practice we put into our horses has to be displayed in 56 seconds of pattern work. I love this pattern; very, "turny" lol. I wanted to ask (I am learning that ppl ride differently in different places all the time) why your toes were turned out to such extremes. Where I ride/show they teach toes in, esp. with spurs. I am not nit-picking or correcting or anything (I trust that you are a very good rider).
haha, I had to go back and look. Not sure why my toes are out :/. They shouldn't be out so far. But I am just now getting everything refined for horsemanship. I will admit, I am not very good at this class. I appreciate you pointing that out to me, I will be sure to work on that! Horsemanship is so fickle, you prepare weeks for like a minute of showing, haha. I still love it. The showing is just a small portion of the whole picture. I just love riding my horse.
hey..you helped me with my not going nor bakcing you horse!!!!!!!!!!!yay!!!!well, i havent tried the backing up part, but he went!!!!!!!!!!i borrowed my trainer's spurs one more time to try and fix the problem and he finally went..i was like so happy!omg! lol..yeah i you can tell im pretty happy now.. by the way love the horse! he/she is so gorgeous!

I thought this was a beautiful pattern! what was it that your trainer said you did wrong?
sdaland2 3 years ago
It is not as crisp as it could be, my elbows were out, and there was something else, but it doesn't come to mind, ha ha!

and what brings you to that conclusion? Just because you don't like some discipline, doesn't mean everyone has to hear about it!

I don't find it funny, one little bit. This riding style is my life, I noticed you favor reining, good for you! Now please don't bash my discipline.
