@MeercatMonstro No im not overestimating metaknight, you're underestimating him and clearly overestimating fox. Fox is good in melee, but theres alotta ways to deal with him (mostly taking advantage of his slow recovery and weight). Also, fox may be the best character in the game as far as tiers goes, but as far as matchups go marth is the best. His only real counter is shiek and if you're smart about it shiek isnt even all that hard. Metaknight however has no true counters.
@MeercatMonstro the only true metaknight counter is a better metaknight. The closest any "meta knight counter" so to speak gets to countering him is coming close to tieing with him. and atleast snake has super armour during some frames of his recovery, lucas and link get shitted on off stage.

In melee top tier characters are just the ones that win the most in tourneys... yet to be good u must pull off quick combos and be evasive/offensive/tricky. The games are even, though I am even at brawl and melée cause I play the same way in both.
Playing brawl does take much more strategy, but if ur character has lots of items/items that go far distances quickly, the games are more like chicken. In melee, items don't usually go far, so u have to fight, sometimes close up with weapons. The swordsman in brawl r usually the "most like melee" matches, cause u have to go close up. G&W and Marth are the most like melee characters.
For this stupid conversation a month ago: yes, brawl is easier. But melee is more fun. In melee, u can be good with anyone if u tried. In brawl, play with anyone and u will be good with that person. In brawl, nintendo took out 3 big things that AREN'T glitches: light shielding, L-canceling, and the fact that everyone has weight, but at the same time ur too floaty.

@Bizkit047 at the release of this game, i played mk almost the same as he does, minus the tornado. once you've got the basics down, the only real technical stuff to learn is the RAA, and that reverse grab thing that was put in the game. - practice is of course a virtue for any fighter, but for brawl - it's too simplistic. dash dancing was super nerfed even if it was included, and is not as great for mind-gaming as it used to be - or hardly at all. but for the BotD, brawl's... fun - sometimes.

Nah. Marth has a point, but, as i've already stated, you're too busy gobbling M2K's gravvy to pay any mind. He's saying that certain players could be better than M2K but they might have had a bad match and didn't get the chance to challenge him. Sports compared to Brawl is an excellent analogy. Some teams are divided into leagues and will never face an opposing league. Some teams will have one bad game and never face their equal. Wipe the cum out of your eye and learn to read.

Uh, I don't know... I've been playing brawl since the day it came out(more like the hour it came out) and I don't think I could beat him. Maybe come close, but not beat him...

Kevin, I think you're wrong. For me, one hit is one mistake. It's only perfect if M2K does a JV 4 on you, and even then, it may not be the perfect way in his sense to destroy you. No one has perfection yet.
Never heard of candy, but since he/she lost to Ally, Ally must be better. Ally is great, but i think DSF is better. Ally is more flashy, DSF is more straight-forward and complete with the standard metagame, and does well with it. Like with Falco; SK92 is the most flashy, but he has said himself the best natural falco is DEHF.
I'm sure I'd beat the crap out of you with Snake. M2K is the best player in the country and I was overwhelmed. The BEST Snake went up against M2K and got 2 stocked multiple matches. Be less nooby.

yeah. brawl's a lot easier to pick up, play, etc. but it has a lot more potential, and it's hard to reach. (OT note: i've noticed a lot of melee players dashdance for fun when they have extra time) another person calling MK broken again... fox, marth, samus, falco, shiek, peach. anyone else (don't flame for missing a few) and you'd get your ass handed to you.

@MaplebyCheese MK has no counter. everyone in melee has a counter. also melee has a bigger variety in cast that win tourneys. Brawl is basically always MK, Snake, you may see a marth and some others. depends which region you live in. Your probably another person that just grew into smash through brawl. Melee is more balanced than brawl. You will never see a captain falcon beat an MK in brawl.

And what potential do you see in brawl exactly? Nintendo specifically stripped this game of competition because they saw how competitive melee became.

Nah. Marth has a point, but, as i've already stated, you're too busy gobbling M2K's gravvy to pay any mind. He's saying that certain players could be better than M2K but they might have had a bad match and didn't get the chance to challenge him. Sports compared to Brawl is an excellent analogy. Yes, he is a good player, but he isn't the best. He plays a broken character who hits faster than hitstun wears off (a character that is so cheap that he was almost banned from brawl tournaments). M2K was a godly Melee player, but even on Melee he was outmatched by players such as Ken... and I'll even go as far to say Bum.
Could I beat M2K? Probably not. Broken characters will always have the advantage.

M2K is most definitely the best Brawl player next to Ally. Once again, look up results. He used to win with DDD before he picked up MK. Kevin, I think you're wrong. For me, one hit is one mistake. It's only perfect if M2K does a JV 4 on you, and even then, it may not be the perfect way in his sense to destroy you. No one has perfection yet.

No offense, but I don't think Candy could place 2nd at a national tourney. Candy is great, but Ally is really great.

Never heard of candy, but since he/she lost to Ally, Ally must be better. Ally is great, but i think DSF is better. Ally is more flashy, DSF is more straight-forward and complete with the standard metagame, and does well with it. Like with Falco; SK92 is the most flashy, but he has said himself the best natural falco is DEHF.
