  • fessi people as moroccan arabs are those people who came back from spain after it became christian

  • good video

  • yea but it is still arabic and not hebrew.

  • A beautiful film. Part two ends with a description of the speaker's grandmother at his wedding that is so vivid it brings tears to my eyes. The beauty of the diaspora for Jews was that we became such a rich and varied people and by not being so geographically concentrated we could endure. The tragedy of the diaspora for Jews is that when we finally returned from all over the globe, we forgot we are one heart. Hopefully we are learning now. May Morocco continue to be a safe, hospitable place.

  • @cubscotland Not exactly. When you are a small minority culture, submerged for centuries in another dominant culture, you tend to assimilate cultural influences- musical style, cuisine, elements of language, elements of dress. What you assimilate you make your own: in the Jewish case, the music is blended with Jewish texts or in a Jewish language (judeo-arabic, ladino, yiddish), the food is a kosher version of the native thing.

  • @cubscotland

or maybe what we brought to morocco.

  • @cubscotland thats a big and very ignorant statement that shows a complete failure to understand anything about history & cultural exchange. Jews existed & lived in what is now north africa for thousands of years since Roman times & brought with them their culture, faith & traditions.

  • @cubscotland Many indigenous amazigh ("berber") tribes also converted thru history to Judaism, & after the Spanish inquisition thousands of Sephardi Jews fled & spread all over the Mediterranean & north africa, thus adding even more layers of diversity. Add to that the Arab-Islamic conquests of the middle-east/north africa & you have an immensely rich mosaic of ppls, languages, cultures, traditions: Hebrew, Arabic, Berber, Spanish, French

  • j aimes bien !!!! vive le maroc
